Henry Ford Innovation Institute Manufactures COVID-19 Protective Equipment

A plexiglass box built at the Henry Ford Innovation Institute provides potentially lifesaving protection as physicians and staff treat COVID-19 patients. The see-through Intubation Shield goes over the patient’s head during the intubation process to protect doctors and nurses from airborne Coronavirus. The goal is to have 500 shields in Henry Ford hospitals at the height of the outbreak in Detroit.
