Lara Price is a survivor…
Born in the war torn country of Vietnam in 1975 and abandoned at birth, Lara became a part of the controversial “Operation Baby Lift”, a mass evacuation of orphans from South Vietnam to the United States. As 90 percent of the orphaned babies did not survive, her journey out of Vietnam to her new home was nothing short of a miracle. Indeed, Lara is truly a survivor in every sense.
Price discovered the power of music at the tender age of 6, when she started taking piano lessons in England with legendary 80’s music innovator Howard Jones. At the age of 12 she found her singing voice. Price was influenced and encouraged by her junior high and high school choir teacher, Blake Olmstead. She continued her vocal studies operatically with Dr. Lynn Berg at BSU. She arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 to pursue her dream of singing in a band. By 1998, Price began running her own blues jam at JJ’s Blues in San Jose, and was featured in an inspiring article about blues jams in the September issue of the Blues Revue Magazine.The journey of Lara’s blues band (The Lara Price Band) includes tours across the United States and China. It also includes five CD’s that Price has produced, co-written, and is featured playing drums, guitar, and back up vocals. Lara and her band have shared the bill with R&B legends, Etta James, James Brown, Buddy Guy, Leon Russell and many more.
Don’s Tunes is about the music. It’s about the sound. It’s about the real thing.

Always thought jazz and blues were something you'd happen to listen to watching a good movie...or half-consciously in a club...or if you paid a visit to some states in the US...but NEVER actually put it on at home...Then last summer I stumbled upon this channel...It's sooo seductive...I'm not even in the mood for getting sad, but I find myself going "I'll hear just one...Ok just another one...Ok the third one and I'm done!..." 🙃 I'm affraid it starts to sound like an early stage of an addiction...

Don's Tunes Thanks brother. I really like the really early Pink Floyd Blues too. Discovered their early stuff after hearing Dark Side of the Moon in 1973 for the first time. I wasn't quite 10 years old and became an instant fan. I still listen to Dark Side of the Moon at least once a week. But yeah, early Floyd blues is pretty cool.

Jackiedion I do love BB King. My taste in blues is wide and varied. This track that Don's posted is just sensuality personified. The guitar, the vocals. It's damned sexy. Bonnie Raitt and JLH's version of 'I'm in the Mood' gives me the same vibe.
To really sing the blues or especially blues rock you got to have a soul. Preferably true black soul. Not just well trained voice by stealing someone's identity or even dream of youth. The true singer live through the voice. Not mimicking like here
