Talkin' Blues -- Barbara Dennerlein with Shigeru Monden on drums

Recently Shigeru Monden, an excellent drummer from Japan, uploaded a video of himself playing along with Barbara Dennerlein on the tune "Talkin' Blues." He did such a fine job I decided to bring them together digitally. Who knows, perhaps someday they'll actually play together in Japan. His original video and Barbara's are linked at the end of this video.
The description below is from a recent upscaled version of the original of video (11 years ago.)
This the 10th anniversary upscaled and enhanced version of the original version. The original was uploaded in 2012 and has 174,000 views, despite its low resolution and quality. Thanks to advances in software this version is a much improved viewing experience.
During her Talkin' Blues interview for All About Jazz, Barbara did this blues improv in her Babab Studio (Sep 2012) on a Hammond B3 and Fender Rhodes.
There is also a 3D version from a different take on RUclips -- you'll need the red/blue glasses to see it in 3D. The quality is quite low, but this is about as close as you can get to experiencing what it is like to be right next to Barbara as she plays.
At that time I had just gotten a 3D video camera (right before the interview), so this was essentially a trail run. The 3D version was the first take, and we did this 2D version as a "just in case" take. Glad we did because few people have these old 3D glasses -- but if you can get ahold of some, it is quite an experience.

Aufgewachsen (bin 68) mit Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Hawkwind (sind alle heute noch meine Helden), hörte ich eines Tages Barbaras cd "Solo" von 1992 und war sofort elektrisiert! Ich habe ihren weiteren Weg nur sporadisch verfolgt und möchte mich hier und jetzt bei Dir dafür bedanken, dass Du all diese Videos zugänglich gemacht hast! Barbara kannte ich bislang nur von den cd - covern, und jetzt bleibt mir wirklich die Spucke weg, sie gibt nicht nur sensationelles auf die Ohren, obendrein ist sie noch die absolute Augenweide! Jedes Deiner hochgeladenen Videos ist insofern ein Mehrfacherlebnis! Was auch immer Sie anhat, wie auch immer Sie Ihr Haar trägt - Sie ist einfach wunderschön.
