Sadly Ted's wife passed in May 2019 at 93 years old but he is still going at the age of 92 or 93 as of December 2019.

Oh my, just saw in a video a similar, authentic blanket auctioned at John Moran Auction for 1 1/2 millions. That owner saw this old man with his blanket on the Antique Roadshow and one thing lead to another, the blanket was sold that much. Wonder if this kind old man had ever thought to auction it tho. I bet he would have gotten it for more than he got from the private collector. Then again, he probably didn't care much about that part. He just wanted it to be properly preserved. Aww.

I thought it was purchased at auction by the collector?

I’m curious if the DIA still has this blanket? I’ve been there several times in the past few years and still haven’t seen it, can’t find it in the archives on their site either

its interesting that they never mentioned my name in this spot. I am the person that appraised the blanket on the Roadshow. I am the person that sold the blanket to the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Well, I imagine you got a pretty penny for being the Intermediary in the selling process so that might lessen the sting?

How much did the blanket sell for at the end? Why was working for them horrible?

I read about AR's conflict with you, and it's disgraceful how shabbily you were treated. You were a true asset to the show, and this segment was a gem.

The Blanket's price was never revealed ... how ever a similar blanket, owned by a disabled man on a small pension .... was sold at auction for over 1.5 million dollars.

Never underestimate two or three rich people's desire to outbid each other. I would think he went for a lot less. Not that 500k would be bad. Regardless I 'm glad it went well for him. He seems like a person full of character.

OMG..Did NO ONE notice the other textile on his wall (2nd item shown in intro)? Also @ 3:24. One just like it in museum in New Mexico. It is worth as much if not more than the blanket. WOW. I see Mr Donald Ellis down in the remarks; what is your comment on that please?
I was not thrilled about his remarks at his wife's expense at the end. MAYBE, just MAYBE, he actually isn't a good hearted man; just a guy that was tossed in front of a camera because he owned an old valuable blanket. I would not slam my wife with those kinds of remarks, especially on a NATIONAL show. Bad form.

Your name most definitely suits you - the other items were of no real value and he did not 'slam his wife'.

Dark Cloud the Donald Ellis in the comments is an impostor, but you would not know that with your naiveté and 5 cents analysis.

Enrique Rodriguez sadly, Aztec artwork is notoriously cheap considering it’s age and history.
