      @@eveyluvvs $$$$$ For this kind of repair (replacing a pocket), you're looking at probably several hundred dollars. I saw a video of another well known repair person who does shoes but occasionally purses too and he charges hundreds of dollars. I myself received a quote of $240 last year in NYC from Leather Spa (I think that's the name) just for refreshing the appearance of my bag (removing stains and conditioning the leather). No major repair work. I just about fell over at that quote. But, considering how expensive these bags are these days (bought mine 8 years ago), it's a relatively cheap price to pay to keep a bag looking good.

    • @eveyluvvs
      @eveyluvvs 4 года назад +8

      S L Yes, that's why I wondering about the price. To see if it would be worth it to get an older bag and just have it repaired or freshened up or buy a brand new. I'm quite partial to vintage bags as I feel they are much better quality than the current brand new ones.

    I’m constantly shocked at how poorly some people treat a very expensive item. Maybe the wealthy don’t care, but the few expensive handbags I own ( Loewe, Chloe, mulberry and Louis Vuitton - even my less expensive coach bags ) I take great care of. I research how to take care of that leather type, clean and nourish the leather and apply Collonil carbon to protect if appropriate . They are all stuffed and kept dust free when not in use. They last longer that way and retain their resale value better. Obviously I own nothing as expensive as Chanel or Dior ( my lifestyle/dress style don’t warrant those ) but what I have I worked very hard for and want it to stay beautiful as long as possible!
    Anyone who loves these types of videos head over to Bedoes leather works channel as well- I’m in awe of the skill these restorers have!

      It was not an A+ repair job. I get that he is skilled, but for the selling price, it did not measure up. Looked kind of shabby in the end and I found it disappointing. It is very hard to reproduce what was done at the factory level when making these bags from scratch. They have very special tools and things that allow them to get the bag to look that certain way. Just saying.

      im sure its expensive but i guess if you can afford the bag in the first place you can probably afford to get it repaired. i was thinking maybe like $500-$650ish maybe more. i saw another video where a woman got her bag worked on by them with more minimal repairs and she said she was quoted at $485.

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria 4 года назад +2

      Easily $1000. Usually one would not pay that for regular cow leather but being that this style is popular and discontinued a restored bag like this would still sell for more than the costs of repairs. Though of course not as much as one that wasn’t damaged in the first place. I was quoted $450 just to replace the strap on an LV bag. Of course that’s more because that’s directly from the LV and a third party repair would charge less. The owner likely went to Chanel and they told her it was too damaged or the cost was too high and she went to a third party professional. I could be wrong in that assessment.

      I restored a Chanel bag with them before, it includes replacing the stay, recoating the hardware with 24K gold, and I believe enhance the black color on the leather. Of course there wasn’t replacing a whole back pocket needed. I think it costs me $415

    Oh my God it means Channel doesn't use real leather because:
    Leather barely burns. If you hold a lighter to a piece of leather, it will shrink and curlbut, it hardly catches fire or continues to burn. Therefore, it is easier to make leather flame retardant than other materials. Leatherette is much more flammable than genuine leather.

    No point of angry boyfriends or jealous husbands. If you’re not happy, get your affairs in order, get a divorce lawyer and move on. Life is too short for personal protection orders and other drama. Never bothered cutting anyone’s bag. Matter fact when I caught my ex talking to another guy after 8 years of dating, I packed all our pictures, expensive gifts and any proof that we were together and I gave it to her and told her good luck and she can throw away all these memories and I walked away and never looked back.
