I took your advice and started hydrating in the morning with water and pink Himalayan sea salt. For years I woke up dehydrated and suffering from headaches. Learning the importance of rehydration after eight hours of sleep was life-changing. Thanks Dr. B! Love your content!
I agree that the subject of drinks could be dicussed more , pink Himalayan salt in water after waking up is a great idea , amazing well thought out list .
People always talk about putting high quality foods into your body but rarely high quality drinks/water. Thank you for highlighting the importance of this!
1. high quality water from a filter 2. organic tea (green tea) 3. high quality coffee (organic) 4. more fresh green juices 5. probiotic drinks 6. protein shakes
Thanks for the tip about the pink Himalayan salt. I started FF30x nine days ago and while I’m not perfect all the time, I made serious improvements to my diet and my family’s diet.
i'm in my 4th week of the FF30X and i'm down 14lbs! i'm video documenting my progress every Friday and once i have a few months behind me i'll be posting them on my channel - looking forward to phase two! ONE MAN CAN DO WHAT ANOTHER MAN CAN DO!
So glad you made this video! I've gotten pretty good at eating healthy but I still drink the occasional soda, and I had no idea that dairy should be avoided. I'm gonna start replacing it with high quality water from now on. Gonna go out today and get some pink himalayan salt.
I am impressed. You added lots of useful info and facts, you definitly know your stuff! I learned a lot more than I thought in this vid. I raise my glass (of tea) to you! (PS: Thanks for not plugging a sponsor, it always decrease the credibility of a video imo because you're paid to say only good things about a certain product). Cheers!
Tea, is my goal. Reducing sugary coffee intake as u described. The main issue I have with my eating habits, is my work schedule. I work 4pm -12 am. Its extremely hard not to eat when I get home. This is, I think my biggest challenge. However, as of February 2020, I began an exercise routine and am beginning to see results.
Hey man; I’m 23 years young 😂 and I want to start living a healthier life style. You did a good explaining the does and don’t, straight to the point. You changed my life today💯 I’ll remember this video when I’m 40-50 healthy asf
Very well done. I learned how I have it wrong with what I eat when I have a beer. My appetizer is fats when it should be protein and fiber. Thanks for the education. I expect I’ll hit my goals sooner and healthier.
So glad I found this channel. Going to try out the guidance on these videos. Been weight lifting M-W-F-Sat. for years. No matter what I do, I still end up looking like a Grizzly Bear...big, strong but no muscle definition.
More organic green tea is my goal to help with my hydration. As a high school football official hydration is the main concern that I have on Friday nights. Thanks for your advice. keep up the good work!
Some great ideas here to try! I haven't had green tea for years and will give it another go. I'm also going to dig out my juicer and try and make some of your green drinks that sound an interesting change. I admit I do like coffee first thing in the morning!
Yeah,These are all really excellent drinks and just hydration in general is so key to good health because there are so many dehydrating things people eat all the time like soda, energy drinks, animal proteins, and beans.
Thanks you answered a lot of questions I had especially about dairy. I will take most of this on board and limit dairy to put in one coffee once a day. THANKYOU.
1, water with a bit of Pink Himalayan sea salt 2, organic tea, warm water with tea bags try different tea bags for different times of the year 3, coffee of high quality, darker roast is a bit better than lighter roasted. Do not add too much sugar and milk to the coffee, dont get addicted to it tho! 4, green juices for example mixing vegetables in a blender, for example kale spinach cucumber tomato also as a meal replacement 5, probiotic drinks, for example like kombucha, koffer, yogurt etc 6, protein shakes, meal replacements
1.20 oz.Water with pich of Himalayan salt 2.Organic tea peppermint, green tea, hibiscus ,ginger, camille and lavender for night time.3. Organic coffee 4. Green Juices khale, spinach, celery 5. Probiotic drinks 6. Protein shakes.
Hey CP, thanks for writing in and great question! When calculating, you can keep most of the carbs from sugar but should probably subtract the carbs from fiber as the pulp/flesh is mostly removed. For more info on juicing, check out this blog article: www.fitfatherproject.com/benefits-of-juicing/ Thanks for watching! -The FFP Team
Thank you for all the great information you provide. I was wondering if you could suggest a replacement for sugar, other than honey. And how much honey is too much.WOW! That would be a great video subject. Thanks in advance.
Totally agree on the subject of which drinks should be consumed; I drink 32 oz of green tea, 8 oz of Liquid yogurt drink and water on daily basis are these good or should other also be consumed
Hey Charles, thanks for writing in and great question! While Corn Silk may have some great health properties (antioxidants, blood sugar management, cholesterol), human research is still a bit limited in terms of effectiveness and safety. Additionally there are some limitations with corn silk as it should not be taken if also consuming some medications such as blood pressure or diabetes meds. But if interested in learning more about interactions, please consult with your physician as they can help guide you further from that stand point. -The FFP Team
Hey RK, thanks for writing in and great question! They are better in terms of using pure ingredients but not so much for your overall health. Can sugar is just another form of sugar, which provides absolutely 0 value to you and your health...especially if looking to lose weight. That's why sticking with water, teas, or coffee is your best bet as they are all natural, 0-calorie beverages...which can also help ENHANCE your overall health. -The FFP Team
Do you have a recommendation on where to buy the salt because I have read many reviews and they are not too good (re: quality of product). 2nd, what's your #1 juicer you think is outstanding. Want to get it for my anniversary
We use a GreenStar Elite juicer. It’s incredibly high quality (yet slower than very high speed juicers): www.amazon.com/dp/B002QGXTJK/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_glt_fabc_BEHBFJSENQ57MPXQG6V2?linkCode=ml2&tag=fitfa0a-20 Here’s the pink Himalayan salt we use too: amzn.to/3dNu7HO Happy Anniversary Larry!
Is it better to drink coffee with an empty stomach, or it doesn't make a difference? In my morning routine I have 1 glass of water, exercise and then high-quality pour over coffee before I have breakfast. Should I swap coffee with green tea?
Very informative Doc. Hopefully coffee is on your list. I can't live without it. I'll try to add green tea to my drink list, I don't like it's taste though!

Thank you ...new to your channel for about a week now...great insights...quick question...what do you think of pre workout drinks like C4? I find them helpful for a solid workout (age 54) and wonder sometimes if these are ok for us?
Pre workout is totally fine on occasion. C4 is a good choice. Black coffee with some MCT oil can get the job done too. Try not to rely on these pre workouts all the time. Just use them as needed
So can you share your thoughts on these water drinks such as AHA, Bubly, La Croix. My daughter drinks 5 to 6 of these a day, telling me they are just like drinking regular water.
Hey Peter, thanks for writing in and great question! Most of these waters are simply made with carbonated water and natural flavoring. However, the FDA doesn't require companies to disclose what natural flavoring actually is so that would be our only concern with drinking these seltzers in excess. You are probably OK drinking the occasional seltzer but should probably not be the primary source of hydration. -The FFP Team
Good vid but you mentioned (twice) hydration targets without providing a solid recommendation. What is a good hydration target for men? Women? You stated tea count toward it but we never got the (it). Lost of info floating around i.e. 6 - 8 cups a day (48 - 64oz). Mayo Clinic, HealthNet, WebMD all have recommendation ranging from 100oz to 124oz (for men).
Hey AofR, thanks for writing in and great question. We like to recommend a simple formula to help you determine how much water (and/or tea) to consume on a daily basis. You would halve your body-weight, in ounces, and add 32. So for a 200lb person, that would be 132oz of water/tea per day. Hopefully the majority of that will be in the morning and afternoon time, to prevent too many trips to the restroom overnight! As your exercise increases, so does the uptake of hydration throughout your body. -The FFP Team

I have a 2 liter water bottle and I'm obsessed with it! Its a bit heavy to carry around but it makes sure I get all my water for the day!
I agree with you! It's KEY to have the bottle with you during the day to ensure you get the water in.
What about apple cider vinegar and water is that good to drink
Yes 👍
Thank you for all the great information you provide. I was wondering if you could suggest a replacement for sugar, other than honey. And how much honey is too much.WOW! That would be a great video subject. Thanks in advance.
Noted 👍 We have this video: ruclips.net/video/x1TbGMHZtV0/видео.html
I drink that level of water right away in the morning, it'll be an adventure when I walk to work for the next half hour!
Any fat loss protein powder available in fitness industry????
Hello Doc.
Is monkfruit ok for a type 2 diabetic to consume?
Yes! Very good sweetener for T2 diabetes. Use it. Don’t go overboard.
Also, is alkaline water beneficial at all?
Totally agree on the subject of which drinks should be consumed; I drink 32 oz of green tea, 8 oz of Liquid yogurt drink and water on daily basis are these good or should other also be consumed
Drinking more organic green tea is definitely help me to.lose weight along with eating clean & of course exercise
Awesome my friend 🙏

What about carbonated water? I drink a product called sparkling ice instead of soda.
I'm gonna start replacing it with high quality water from now on. Gonna go out today and get some pink himalayan salt.
Was looking for healthier drink alternatives, thanks!
There's so much information about healthy food out there, not much about healthy drinks!
What about soft drinks made with pure cane sugar? Like IBC root beer. Any better than others?
Hey RK, thanks for writing in and great question! They are better in terms of using pure ingredients but not so much for your overall health. So I use organic stevia in my green and unsweet teas, steel cut oats, and coffee. Do you think this is not a good idea?
That sounds good to go in my book. Add some organic hemp seeds (and potentially organic blueberries) on top of your steel cut oats and you have a killer breakfast.
Monk fruit
Protein shakes have really helped me hot my target. I’m committed to drink a lot more water this year and less coffee
Awesome my friend 🙌
All great suggestions and I do most except now I’ll be getting in to those teas! I gave up coffee mid last year feel waaay better and don’t miss it. But watch those protein shakes, some have some scary ingredients that will later do more harm than good folks. Research that one, maybe a Fit Father video one day :)
Agreed! Protein shakes need to be vetted for ingredient quality. There are some good ones out there.
Hey man! What brands of protein do you recommend for the shakes?
I'm not OP but definitely try out GNC brands if available in your area. Can't go wrong with em'.

What about drinking veggie greens?
So can you share your thoughts on these water drinks such as AHA, Bubly, La Croix. My daughter drinks 5 to 6 of these a day, telling me they are just like drinking regular water.

Having some wine with dinner 1-2 times per week is fine. More than that and it will negatively impact your fitness progress.
Basically: don’t make it an every day thing.
Is it safe to drink water from a plastic bottle thanks
Great video as always! When it comes to the teas, is it okay to add honey, also is it okay to take probiotic pills?
I Really enjoy your videos, but can you use metric system as well ?
I used to drink a ton of Diet Coke and diet Mt dew. I love them but cut them out about a month ago. I can tell I feel better!
What about using honey as a sweetener?
What are substitutes for milk when allergic to nuts?
Hey Elizabeth, thanks for writing in and great question! The type of "milk" you consume really doesn't mater as much as choosing a no-sugar, low-cal option. This can range from organic soy to oat to coconut (technically a fruit). Thanks for watching!
