much faster to use reports in zotero and export a pdf with all notes. this will contain all quotes, citations, and user notes. then add this to the research folder in scrivener. after you re happy with your text, compile to word and then use the zotero plug in with word to create in text citations and bibliography.
Ah - Figured out how to add the Comments and Footnotes to the tool bar (Tools, Customize Toolbars) AND realized that the "Notes" option in Zotero is only available in certain citation styles such as Chicago (I first tried AMA). Anyhow, thank you so much for posting this information. Truly appreciate your time and effort. Cheers.
Hi Sarah, I am certainly not seeing what you are seeing. The notes for Zotero should be available for all your library items. Are you using the standalone version of Zotero?
Thanks so much for posting. Wish this had worked for me but my version of Zotero doesn't have the Output Mode "Notes" and my version of Scrivener doesn't have the Footnote/Citation button. Any thoughts?
In the menu tool bars, go to VIEW, then choose CUSTOMIZE TOOL BAR,then choose the Tool bars you want like 'footnote', comment' (look for their icons too), then drag them to the Menu toolbars. save. close

You can use tags in zotero (read= blue, to read= red for example)

Just curious, why do you record the notes in the Draft folder rather than the Research folder?
No particular reason. No that you mention it, using the research folder would probably be better. Thanks for the question
Really helpful!!!! Thank you so much! I am gonna writing my PhD thesis using your method.
