      Same thing used to happen in my Tiago JTP as well. Noticed sometimes in i20 as well.
      Could be an industry problem rather than a Skoda/VW problem.

Also confused in Petrol and Diesel but I don’t think I will get diesel in 5L on model 2017 or above, please suggest which one to go for if you see this comment, thanks in advance

      The best experience from a Rapid is either in 1.0 TSI manual or 1.5 TDI DSG (Style AT)
      To get a decent model which won’t be prone to issues I would suggest to wait for a while and add to your budget 🙂
      You can be on the lookout for a 3-4 year old Rapid Rider 1.0 TSI, they’re always selling at good prices, around 7-8 lakhs max.
      You might be able to grab one at around 6, if you can that would be an awesome deal!

    Hi bro. First of all nice and informative video. Can you please let me know if the dsg is reliable enough as it is a dq200 unit. Also I was looking at the Ameo DSG. what would be mandatory to check before going ahead with the purchase. Also what would be a reasonable rate for a 2018 model Vento/Rapid/Ameo DSG. I know I've asked alot but please take your time and reply. Would really appreciate it!

    • @TractionControl
      @TractionControl  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi brother. Thank you for the appreciation! DSG, specially the DQ200 is infamous for it's reliability in Indian weather.
      When I test drove the Rapid, I loved the gearbox so much that I decided to take that gamble, there's nothing like it in this price bracket. It's miles ahead of any other automatic gearbox.
      It's been 2 years with the car and it has been a smooth ride till now. It was 3 years old with 69k kms when I purchased it and the two clutches were replaced in it's last service after which it was placed on sale, so the last owner did face an issue (but he could have exploited the car, who knows?)
      Mandatory to check:
      1. Nuts and bolts under the hood, match the color of the car
      2. Get the car to a VW/Skoda authorised SC and get it inspected for chassis damage, odo tampering, parts that may need replacement and to check all electricals are working fine.
      3. The most important thing is to make sure that the car is not a re-built total loss car, this can also be checked at the service center, they will have the records (as per the chassis number)
      4. Thoroughly go through the service records to make sure tha the car was serviced at regular intervals.
      5. Thoroughly go through the insurance claims as well.
      Feel free to reach out to me on Insta @supersid01 or @Traction01 if you have any other questions.

      @@TractionControl OMG bro! That was one fast reply! Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful reply! Your insights into the DSG, particularly the DQ200, are incredibly helpful. I completely agree-there's nothing quite like this gearbox in its price range, and your experience reassures me about my decision to take the plunge with the Rapid/Vento.The only reason why I still have my suspicions about it is because of the Mechatronic Failure which my friend had faced in his Octavia MK 3.5 1.8 TSI. That was purely a highway office commute vehicle, but still the gearbox failed. I still want to take a gamble at it after reading your reply because the price/fun ratio is very good.
      I appreciate your checklist; it's a great guide for anyone considering a used car purchase. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and offering further assistance. You've definitely earned a new subscriber here!

    • @TractionControl
      @TractionControl  5 месяцев назад

      @@Speedspeed2403 my pleasure brother! 🤩
      Mechatronic failure is a common issue when you compare all types of automatics, but just within the DSGs you're simply unlucky if it fails for you. I'm not saying that it's a rare occurrence, but if there's a mechatronic failure for every 2/10 owners, I'd take those chances 😀
      Also, if you can get some kind of Extended warranty that would be great - some re-sellers offer EW on their brand name.
      (I got it extended by 2 years over the original 4 years at a cost of 35k and made sure that the gearbox is covered in that EW)

    Loved your review and very informative. Planning to buy 2019 Rapid Ambition disel 1.5 manual in Bangalore. Has run 34k km and serviced regularly. Minor scratches and no dents, but tyres needs to be changed

      @TractionControl  5 месяцев назад

      Hi brother, thank you so much for the appreciation!
      8 Lakhs is on the higher side, considering Ambition model. If it was Style maybe you could have considered it. If the car is in great condition it should not go over 7 lakhs.
      Consider my car for an example - 2019 Style Diesel 1.5 DSG with minor scratches and no dents, 68k kms rum (bought it in 2022 when it was 3 years old) at 8.75 lakhs.
      So Ambition model from 2019 (even with 34k km) will not get valued at 8 lakhs.

      Don't buy it bhai. The DSG DQ200 is known to fail after 1 Lakh kms. It will cost you an extra 1.5 Lakh rupees.
      It's better to wait for Skoda's new sub 4m SUV, since the 1.0 Turbo Petrol produces comparable power to the 1.5 TDI.
      Plus the diesel of 2017, you'll most likely face a lot of bans in next 2-3 years. Delhi me banned hai hi, Mumbai is also considering a move. Anything more than 3.5 Lakhs is overpaying.
      It's one hell of a car, yes, but Skoda's don't have a resale and that's the truth.

      However, a 6 year old car that too with 2,30,000 on the odo, for 5.7L is not a good deal.

      If you’re thinking about buying a Skoda Rapid diesel that's done 95,000 km, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, the turbocharger might be close to wearing out-these typically start to show issues around this mileage, so it's worth getting it checked. If it has a DSG gearbox, be cautious, as those can be problematic, especially in India’s heat. Electrical issues are also fairly common in these cars, so make sure everything works as it should.
      Overall, if the car has a good service history and is in decent shape, it could be a good buy, but be prepared for some maintenance expenses down the line.

    • @TractionControl
      @TractionControl  Год назад

      It's 6 years old, so clearly out of warranty, you should be careful.
      So, steering in VAG cars are generally stiffer (should not be a concern) however, you will feel this only if you haven't driven a VW/Skoda before. If you have driven old VW/Skoda's and you still feel that the steering is stiff, then you should get it checked out at the service centre.
      To your next point, Skoda Diesel is very noisy at idle and high rpms, otherwise it's smooth.
      But again, is the noise something out of the ordinary?
      In any case, you should most definitely get an inspection done at the service centre, they will charge a nominal fee. This will give you peace of mind.
      Price wise it's a good deal, you can maybe negotiate and get it down to 6.5 that would be better!

      Somewhere around 8-8.25 would be a good deal.

      6.51 lakhs is too much for a Skoda driven for sooo long!
      Which year model is it?
      Also, are you 100% sure it's 7,80,000 and not 78,000? 😅

    Bro, shall I take the 2016 1.6 MPI engine manual style plus varient at 5.7 lac price. It is 57000km driven.
    Can you please give your advice?

    • @TractionControl
      @TractionControl  Год назад

      Would not suggest to spend your money on a 9 year old Rapid. The parts replacement cost could burn holes in your pocket.
      The 1.6 MPI is a fuel guzzler, do not expect fuel economy or even great performance (sounds amazing though and can be tuned for better performance)
      So go for it only if you can keep up with high parts replacement cost and low fuel economy, i.e. you have loads of backup money😀

      6.30 is a little too much for a 7 year old Rapid. Try to get the price Lowered to below 6 Lakhs.
      Also, check the service records and make sure DSG has been flawless.
