Nice, I use the same drill, but I add 2 lateral drills on pistons so once you get to the right depth you can expand along that layer and get all the good stuff without needing to make the hole bigger
i have a drill kinda like this i can mine ice fine but i find that on harder materials the pistons move too fast to drill and i have them at 0.1 any ideas on how to fix?
Go to 2:00 in the video and watch the hotkeys. Hotkeys 6 and 7 are increase and decrease max piston length respectively. When I want to go deeper I hit 6 and let the drill extend a bit and when it starts cutting I hit 7 to stop it in place. After I've mined through that depth I hit 6 to increase the max piston length again and keep doing that until I drill as deep as I want. You have to stop and start the piston extension it because there's not a good speed to extend the pistons that won't make it take forever to raise the drills when you're done. Also if you weren't aware, ctrl+left click on any adjustment slider will let you enter an exact number, so my pistons will extend at .03 m/sec.
