About 9 or 10 years ago David Williamson was lecturing at a convention here in London. The organisers surprised him on stage by tracking down & bringing out, the now adult, 'trick ruining' Murray. It was one of the greatest moments in magic.
Thank you for this. I love that you're highlighting the great magicians of our time that, while popular among magicians, unfortunately don't have as much popularity as "The Big Ones" for those of us who hang out on the fringe of the art. Also, while I love your puzzle content, I'm super happy to see you putting some magic stuff back out there. Great content!
@@sangjester19832 I don't doubt that at all. And that's what I love about seeing magicians like this. These are the ones who lay the groundwork for so many others. But, unfortunately, I wouldn't know about these guys without videos like this. Yes I know about the really old school guys from books (Vernon, Bobo...) But guys like David Williamson have somehow gotten lost in the mix between the old and new (at least for me.)
Had the privilege of going for beers with David several years back. I learnt a lot of basic sleights from watching his vids, so was already quite a hero of mine. Turned out he was a top bloke too, which is always a bonus. Liked his use of 'smoke gets in your eyes' during that ciggy trick too.
David Williamson is such a treasure. Fun bit of trivia: the reason he does a 2-cup routine (instead of 3) is that he used to do the full 3-cups....but someone once stole one of his cups backstage before he did his act and he had to improvise. And he's kept the 2-cup version ever since. Great performer and, by all accounts, a heck of a human being. :)
To be able to do what he's doing in that intro bit is so special. He's creating complete chaos, speaking quickly (for various reasons- humor, character, misdirection, etc.), moving quickly, and yet he's able to make sure the audience is still completely coming along with him on that whole ride. Theyre getting whiplash following him and it works perfectly. I could watch him all day just watching his techniques and performance style. When he had that kid blow on that guy's forehead- that had me rolling!
I love how you use your channel to showcase some of the great magicians. With social media magic saturating the web, it's awesome to see their incredible live magic!
I was lucky enough to see David perform at the Magic Castle around a dozen times many years ago. With his improv skills it was never the same show twice. Of the many Magic Castle lectures I was able to attend, his was by far the best. Learned nothing because I was laughing so hard.
He is such a good magician and very funny! My brother had just shown me such a funny video of David Williamson performing for a bunch of maginians just days before you said you guys would have him on BoB, so that was fortuitous! 👍👍
I had the honor of meeting him many years ago when he came to Albuquerque and was hanging out at a local magic shop. At that time I had no idea who he was. Became an instant fan. He did his top change for me several times while breaking it down and I still couldn't see it. He is a master of his craft and a genuinely great guy.
Dave Williamson is really the funnist magician. I love his routines. I'm learning "Funner Color Stunner". I also really like his "Memory Test" which is great fun to perform. It's great the way he incorporates humor with telling a story and involving the participant. I think that's the best recipe for a great and fun card trick. I've busted a gut watching his performances.
Dude !! back in the days, David W. was the Jim Carrey of magic, the guy crack me up doing and teaching magic, i own some of his videos, very talented guy.
You are so quick to send people off to other amazing content and creators. Unfortunately it plays into the myriad of issues you are talking about in your most recent video/confessional. You make great stuff and have a heart of gold. Keep doing what you love and the focus and goals will find you. Thank you.
David Williamson is great! I remember watching him for the first time on worlds greatest magic years ago. He's definitely one of my number 1 favorite magicians in magic
Fun fact: the "children's music" during the cigarette/string routine is the old song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" (definitely adding to the humor for anyone who recognizes the song)
Loving this content, Chris 🤟 David is a legend - both as a magician and a comedian. I'd highly recommend the BoB episode with, David too 😁 Great video man 🙏🏻
I love David Williamson! Absolutely a master but the moment you mention his name I can’t help but think of Rocky Racoon. One of my favorite bits ever 😂
David Williamson and Mac King, to me, are the funniest magicians of all time. Not only are they brilliant comedians, but their skills, thinking, and overall talent as magicians and practitioners are second to none. I love these showcase videos you've been doing. Thank you Chris and keep em coming. Tom Mullica and Lennart Green would be excellent choices for future videos.
Yo that rubber band/card trick at the beginning tho... I mean come ON! JUST ABSOLUTELY STELLAR!!! Pay attention boys and girls, THIS man is just SUCH an inspiration! Also, was it just me or did anyone else get serious Jim Carrey vibes watching David Williamson perform... Especially the pulling on his mouth gag... I have a sneaking suspicion that Jim Carrey would say he drew inspiration from this man... His showmanship is just so brilliant!!!
it's not often I laugh out loud when watching magicians or anything on youtube. Most time I only smile and thinks it is funny. I love humor and magic but I rarly laugh out loud. There are a very few that make me laugh and David Williams is one of them. I alught so hard i cried.
I miss Harry Anderson, but I'm glad to see someone else was doing his act, and even dressed like him. Good job, Mr. Williamson. Thanks Chris. How about a retrospective of Harry?
I always have to mute squeaky sounds on videos because my gets excited. This time he also stared at his toy as if "how did you do that when I'm not biting you?"
Little boy reminded me of my like 10th bday I went on stage and the magician was doing linking rings. He asked me to inspect one and asked if I saw any holes or anything and so I said yes. He asked me where and I pointed directly through the ring. Then after the show he found me outside to shake my hand and I got him with one of those wind up hand buzzers. I miss being a child
The first clips and the "Murray" clip were from an English show (I forget the name). I used to record it from the TV on the VCR and watch it over trying to the the method. As a very young boy I watched him do "Looney Man's..." so many times the video snowed out at that point, I completely wore it out. I never did learn it from all the watches but came up with some insane alternatives. David Williamson started my love affair with magic that still lives 40 years later.
The Children's Music as you say that was playing in the background when he was doing his act with the cigarette is a song called "smoke gets in your eyes"!!
8:05 David's "maneurysms" perfectly appropriate mispronunciation given the blurred vision, double vision, and encouraging nausea I feel after watching Mr. Williamson at play for a few minutes.
Can you please do a tutorial on the pirouette? I've always wanted to learn it and your tutorials are the best on youtube! Great content love it all thanks for everything, you have helped me develop my magic skills a lot cant thank you enough!
Love your videos. I'm very sorry because youtube is broken and you don't get many views. Every time I have to search your Chanel I don't know why you don't get recommended
Dude, I just noticed, while you were doing the card/rubber band transfer, it says Seattle on your index finger. I tattooed in Seattle for many years. I wonder if we crossed paths at some point.
9:45 maybe it was said because of the audience reaction "nowadays," but performers are allowed to smoke on stage because it's considered a "theatrical device."
More performance than magic, but I remember watching his Rocky Raccoon routine on some stars of magic show or something a long time ago and it's hilarious! I'll use the probe!

Wicked.
Have to admit that I love these vids the most atm. The perspective to magicians you appreciate.
Glad you like them!

oddly enough HE is the one that copperfield and blane consult... or well one of the ones that they consult.

So freaking funny 😂😂

David is one of the amazing performers that doesn’t even need to do the magic, he is the magic. I could watch him just speak. ❤
I've only known of The Amazing Johnathan so I'm glad to find another comedic magician like this through your channel!
Dave Williamson is really the funnist magician. I love his routines. I'm learning "Funner Color Stunner". I also really like his "Memory Test" which is great fun to perform. My mom is the best Spectator. When you let her pick ANY hard, she ALWAYS picks 8 of hearts. Ive been blowing her mind for years now
I started exploring in magic one month ago and fell in love with your videos
Humble mention to the trick Gordon does at the beginning. Classy and smooth👌

First time seeing this in years, David Williamson is a God of magic and comedy, it was nice to watch this with you, great comments and insights.
gray looks good on everyone and with every color in the right combination.
Definitly one of my favorite magicians and showmen! He trully is tallented at entertaining people, always with respect for them
David Williamson is great!
I love how he's screaming at his audience and they were enjoying it and going along with it.
Loving this content, Chris 🤟
David is a legend - both as a magician and a comedian.
I'd highly recommend the BoB episode with, David too 😁
Great video man 🙏🏻
FYI the "children's music" behind the cigarette gag is actually "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes"! Another layer of genius!
When I learned about “Stuff the White Rabbit” I was in love, David is A LEGEND
I love David Williamson! Absolutely a master but the moment you mention his name I can’t help but think of Rocky Racoon. One of my favorite bits ever 😂

My side hurt, such appreciation thanks my dude ~Smile oN
If Jim Carrey was a magician 🎩
That was an incredible display of talent! Thanks for creating this show
I got to attend Magic Camp and he was there. Amazing person, amazing performer, and his lecture was also amazing.
that intro trick made me me subscribe it just blew my mind
LOL with this. Such great content. Thank you for bringing this magician back into the spotlight for us!
Yo that rubber band/card trick at the beginning tho... I mean come ON! JUST ABSOLUTELY STELLAR!!! Pay attention boys and girls, THIS man is just SUCH an inspiration!

Three days late to this, but glad it waited, cause today was the day I definitely needed a laugh. Thanks Chris!! Much love!!
Great observation and point about "winning your audience" when the kid reveals how the trick is done. (12 minute mark)
Appreciate the thumbnail. 👁️🤘💥
So that kid Murray was reunited with Williamson there's a video on RUclips its great. It's when murray is like in his 20s
That song during the cigarette/string routine is a slightly warped version of "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". Love the site!
That was soo good, almost sad I only seen the clip with the little boy before. Williamson is so much more.
It’s honestly great to have Ramsey right solidly back into magic these days…❤️🔥
it's not often I laugh out loud when watching magicians or anything on youtube. Most time I only smile and thinks it is funny. I love humor and magic but I rarly laugh out loud. There are a very few that make me laugh and David Williams is one of them. I alught so hard i cried.
Phenomenal intro as always!😂
I miss Harry Anderson, but I'm glad to see someone else was doing his act, and even dressed like him. Good job, Mr. Williamson. Thanks Chris. How about a retrospective of Harry?
Yoooo that Close Encounters of the Third Kind poster is dope af🤙🤙
I always have to mute squeaky sounds on videos because my gets excited. This time he also stared at his toy as if "how did you do that when I'm not biting you?"
The song is "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". Lol
Tom Dutkiewicz
im loving these videos my friend! Get these artists booked for for an interview in the studio!!! Nobody is doing that!
I've always loved his Rocky Racoon routine.
His energy just puts me in a good mood. Always.
Little boy reminded me of my like 10th bday I went on stage and the magician was doing linking rings. He asked me to inspect one and asked if I saw any holes or anything and so I said yes. I always carry a squeaker around because they are so fun, but now I need to carry another one that doesnt squeak 😂
LOVE David Williamson!
Magic Comedy Show and the follow up series Magic Comedy Hour with David Williamson, Rudy Coby and Jeff Hobson. Briliant stuff.
That guy is hilarious! 🤣That's my kind of magician.
The first clips and the "Murray" clip were from an English show (I forget the name). I used to record it from the TV on the VCR and watch it over trying to the the method. Nice. Thanks for sharing all this great stuff.
Wish i cld meet u one day chris! Ur fan from singapore❤
First saw David Williamson on a magic program called Stuff The White Rabbit so funny and very entertaining.😎👍
Harry Anderson and this man right here are my two magic hero’s
That was great, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing me this guy.
The Children's Music as you say that was playing in the background when he was doing his act with the cigarette is a song called "smoke gets in your eyes"!!
Ok but the rubber band vanish was on point. The only part I didn't catch. Very clean opener 😎
8:05 David's "maneurysms" perfectly appropriate mispronunciation given the blurred vision, double vision, and encouraging nausea I feel after watching Mr. Williamson at play for a few minutes.
The Amazing Jonathan, who I believe was Chris Farley's brother, was the funniest I ever have seen.
Can you please do a tutorial on the pirouette? I've always wanted to learn it and your tutorials are the best on youtube! Great content love it all thanks for everything, you have helped me develop my magic skills a lot cant thank you enough!
Oh damn!
Didn't even realize it was the magician from that viral kid where the kid realizes there's another card at first!
salut Chris, merci pour cette vidéo ! j'adore David Copperblaine.. ce mec est fou.
The song that’s playing while he’s doing the routine with the cigarette is Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.
I will never forget his story of the Funner Color Stunner where he got a husband to change the deck one last time under his wife's pillow. Amazing.
Love the videos buddy. Thanks
I love how there are intentional wrong notes in "Smoke Gets in your Eyes" when he is doing the cigarette routine.
Intro so fire i had to make a second account to subscribe again
Literally like every legendary magician is named David. David Blaine, David Copperfield, and David Williamson
That's three magicians.
David Roth too for great coin magic.
@@damasek219 and they are all legends
David Duke was a grand wizard of the KKK.
And David copperblaingel
Love your videos. I'm very sorry because youtube is broken and you don't get many views. Every time I have to search your Chanel I don't know why you don't get recommended
Really enjoying your videos of late.
I saw him in The Illusionists show that came through town. Hilarious Miser's dream routine with some kids.
Chris when that music is on it’s a song and the song is “smoke gets in your eyes”
That’s gotta be the best subscribe ever.
He is also a musician's magician: The "nice fake children's music" is "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes".
Dude, at first I thought he was Pastor Dave from That 70’s Show 😅😂
Dude, I just noticed, while you were doing the card/rubber band transfer, it says Seattle on your index finger. I tattooed in Seattle for many years. I wonder if we crossed paths at some point.
The song with the Gypsy Thread trick was not a children's song it was "Smoke gets in your Eyes" which makes perfect sense...
This guy is great! lol. I don't know why i've never seen him...
I got to see Dick Stoner perform once at a party, he is also a hilarious magician.
What a stud. That’s hilarious 🤣
what is the name of this card trick 16:56
Chris Ramsay middle name must be David because he’s such a good magician too
9:45 maybe it was said because of the audience reaction "nowadays," but performers are allowed to smoke on stage because it's considered a "theatrical device."
What did the boy say at 11:11 ? I couldn't decipher it, due to audio quality.
The way he moves and the skill of his mime. Reminds me so much of Red Skelton. Go watch Red sewing a button. You'll see what I mean.
Love you Chris
Absolutely Brilliant..! 🙏😃🎩😂
More performance than magic, but I remember watching his Rocky Raccoon routine on some stars of magic show or something a long time ago and it's hilarious! I'll use the probe!
He reminds me so much of Kevin MacDonald from the Kids in the Hall
Man, that was wonderful
The music playing during the string routine is "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes."
