    Hello Mr. Metaxas. When one of our sons was struggling with his faith, I wrote out a list of our family's own personal miracles. One of them was when one of our newborn babies was being examined, I felt as though the Lord had placed His hand under me and held me. Our little son was born without kidneys, so he did pass on. I continued to feel Him holding me for the next 2 months. Then one morning, on our way to church, I felt Him set me down again. I said "Lord I'm not ready," but He said "yes, you are." And I was.
    I have Crohn's disease, and for years I was praying for my body to heal. I couldn't understand why He wouldn't heal me. But He showed me a better prayer. Now I ask Him to give me strength, His resurrection power, to accept this disease and glorify Him through it.

    In 2012 I distinctly heard the LORD speak to me to say, “Do not discount and do not dismiss what I did for you that evening when you were 16 years old.” At the end of a church service, I was in a line of about 20 people willing to receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit which is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This happened within seconds. What happened next was something that took years for me to understand. The gentleman praying over me did not go to the next person. He stayed with his hand on my head praying in his prayer language. Then in English he said the following. “In the name of Jesus I command you spirit of depression, and you spirit of suicide, and spirit of fear to leave her now!” He paused praying quietly in the spirit and then said,” Holy Spirit please flood her from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet with Your joy, Your hope, and Your peace!” My hands were raised and my eyes were closed during all of this. I’m praying in a new language, when the man started praying these things, I started to think, “Hey! How does this man know I’ve been diagnosed with depression? And I thought this was just a medical condition?!” This was when I first began to understand that medical conditions have a spiritual element to them. As he prayed this prayer, I also saw a gold line of light go from the crown of my head down through every part of my body. When it hit my heart I began to laugh. I couldn’t stop laughing for a solid 20 minutes. What I didn’t realize when all this happened was my Heavenly Father’s answer to a series of questions I had. Why can’t we experience the same joy and power the Christians did in the book of Acts? If He is the same yesterday, today, and forever then why am I being told that healing and miracles only happened in the days of the Bible? Why would God prefer on generation over another when it clearly says He shows no partiality? He answered my questions in a very clear and powerful way. I was filled with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, delivered from the oppression of three demons, and miraculously healed of depression of which I have been told there is no cure! HALLELUJAH! If that isn’t a miracle story, I don’t know what is! 🥳🙌🔥

    I have a precious Yorkie who is troubled with epilepsy. Medication is managing it, but at times to no avail. My prayers for his healing have not been answered however I experienced something amazing and wonderful and beyond physical. On the 4th of July while I was away he
    jumped through the screen door, over a barrier, down some stairs, under a closed gate and off the property, in the dark. He crossed 2 streets and was eventually picked up by 2 sweet girls who were cruising in their car looking for someone looking for a dog!
    The saving keeping hand of God was on him. Had the Lord
    healed him of epilepsy, it would have been wonderful, and still would be, but with this
    He showed me his extraordinary love! Only 14 percent of all the 4th of July run away pups get returned home!!!

    I have shared miraculous things that have happened in my life with my Sunday School class and no one said a word. They looked at me like they just didn't believe me. That's why we don't hear about many miracles. I want to share these things with others. But I have gotten so excited about these things and lose my excitement when others act like they think I'm crazy.

    I believe anything is possible with God. Healings in the Bible are always very personal and we’re witnessed by people that personally knew the healed person. They are not a public spectacle in front of a large audience by some pastor looking to convince you to give more money. Same with tongues…it is a gift to edify the church. Now many charismatics question whether you are saved if you don’t have the gift. In the Bible God always has a very practical reason for spiritual gifts.

    • @floid33556
      @floid33556 Год назад +2

      Every answered prayer is a miracle. Guiding us through His Spirit is a miracle. Forgiving our sin is a miracle. If God wanted to make a big spectacle He can do it, but He doesn’t. Why didn’t he bring an army of angels out of the sky with a banquet of food to feed the five thousand? If he wanted a big dramatic scene He could have easily done it. Why does He do things the way he does?

    • @jodymccabe2586
      @jodymccabe2586 Год назад

      Not everyone can speak in tongues - it's personal and a direct prayer to God. It's a gift and has nothing to do with whether you are saved or not. If you have claimed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you believe he died for you and was resurrected, you've been saved. The key is not whether you speak in tongues, but whether Jesus is your Lord and Savior that determines if you are saved.

    I have experienced miracles in my life. My father had a heart bypass in his 70's. When he was in ICU he saw Jesus. I saw him speaking to the Lord and he said Jesus told him he has a new heart and asked him to accept him into his life. I prayed for his salvation for years and in ICU he accepted Jesus because he saw him. I witnessed him speaking to Jesus and it was so beautiful. God is a God of miracles and he does them everyday.

      There are times that God allows healing because he has more for the person to do for him. I have seen that happen, but also there are many times when people aren't healed. It's all in God's will, not ours. Yes, our days are the Lord's and when he wants us home, we will leave.

    Like your shows and this one is an exciting one. Yes they are really happening. I know and never forget the day Jesus came to visit and give me an explanation of how He had?answered my request I asked a year before that. That was when I was 24 years old. Now at 69 years I lay beside my wife he sent me when after that encounter I asked he send me a helper to keep me on track. We have to keep our ears open to hear other people's stories to stay focused. He is same today as when he was on earth . He is coming back!

    I agree with you regarding cessationism. One of the main standard bearers for cessationism is John MacArthur. On the one hand he's a gifted theologian, teacher, and preacher, but on the other hand he kind of strikes me as one having a form of godliness but denying its power. I'd love to see you interview Pastor John on this subject.

    Eric, thankyou for your book, Martin Luther, I'm not a college grad, but I've always been a Berean kind of Christian, I found in M.L. that he was also a Berean Christian. So much of who M.L. was as he questioned the prevailing accepted religious opinions are needed in today's world as churches are giving way to so many unbiblical aspects of what once was true biblical Christianity.
    I know my comment here is off topic, but I just wanted to say thanks. I'm a retired construction guy. Your book has me doing many dictionary searches LOL. I find that when you question the nominal accepted religious norms, people don't like it, so thanks again for your books.

    Why be mad at God? This is God's universe, He/God does not have to answer to noone, When people get mad at God because of a tragedy that happened in their life they should be ashame of themselves, God put us here for a purpose to display His Glory, when people get angry at God that shows they have no clue who God really is, everything that happens in this world is to display God's Glory so that others that see might believe.

    Oh man, this is a LONG comment. But I have written down some of the miracles God has performed in my life. They are in a book that, perhaps someday, I might attempt to have published. I present them here for your interest and edification.
    Just a note: I re-read this comment before posting and my eyes welled up with weeping. In joy. God is amazing, does amazing things. He has done so with me. But you must open yourself to meet Him. Please, please, please do that. You will be amazed.
    LOL: I tried to post the entire thing and RUclips returned an error. There IS a limit to the length of comments. So, I only post one miracle for you to see. Sorry, maybe that is an indication that I should publish my book? God knows...
    A full moon eclipse was going to happen. In our back yard! We were positioned in the best place in the world to witness it and all we had to do was stand there and watch. Hoopla, my wife and I were excited, me more than her because I am a science nut, and at the proper time, we exited our home to watch.
    The sky was shrouded with clouds. Thick, black clouds to the extent that the full moon could barely be discerned as a faint glow. Normally a full moon lights up our back yard, no need for further illumination but not tonight. It was black. We needed flashlights. Bummer.
    So I said to my wife “Well, if God had wanted us to see the eclipse then He would have made it possible” and turned to go back inside. Suddenly my wife exclaimed “David, come here. You must see this.”
    So I returned to my wife’s side and looked up. A small slit was appearing in the clouds and as I watched it revealed, deep within the cloud cover, the full moon. The slit started a short distance before the moon, became just wide enough to expose the moon, and then quickly closed back up. It was amazing.
    I looked for a reason. Was there a plane in the air causing the split? No, impossible, the clouds were far too thick for that to happen. The clouds were so thick that you could see the moon’s reflection in the top and bottom of the narrow slit. In fact the clouds were so thick that if you traveled just ¼ quarter mile in any direction the clouds would block the view. We live in the countryside, no one else was given the privilege of the view we were given.
    The slit didn’t move. It stayed in one place, neatly parting the clouds giving us a full view. I started to weep. I am weeping as I write this. My faith that God would allow us to watch it, if He desired it, was enough and His Will had given us this unique view. I was dumbfounded.
    We stood in amazement, watching over the next 30 to 45 minutes, as the moon went from full, to crescent and then to completely darkened. Oh, there was a reddish glow that remained, but it was completely blocked by the earth from the sun’s rays. However, the miracle didn’t stop there!
    As we stood in near total darkness, I said to my wife “Well, that was amazing. God is good. He allowed us to view this event and now that we have seen Him work, let’s return inside”. I had no sooner said this and the slit started to close as God removed His finger from the clouds and they moved past, covering up the moon again. Soon we were in complete darkness and needed our flashlight to go return inside.
    I was floored. Why did God do such a thing? He, in essence, had parted the Red Sea for us! Just so we could view the full moon eclipse? No, so he could show us His omnipresence and power. He was there, he rewards faith with favor. He said, “David, I appreciate your faith and trust. Sure, I’ll help you watch my creation do its thing!”.
    Isn’t God amazing? No, He hasn’t changed one bit. He still does miraculous things. Things we can’t even imagine and have a hard time believing. He is extra-natural. However, this is only one example, there are many more.

    I think you are on to something about miracles pointing to a deeper truth. Those who want miracles of healing and deliverance are hoping that God will undo an injustice in their lives. But if God will not miraculously reverse the worst injustice imaginable, then why believe God will help in your circumstances? So God raised Jesus from the dead after suffering the worst injustice possible. And those who can believe that can believe God will help them.
