Just come across your site, thanks so much for taking the time to make these no nonsense films, I've been making lures for some time but am new to using a lathe. I didn't realise how useful it will be for lure making. Thanks again and more films please...
Just bought your eBook. Looking forward to going through all of it. It is written very well and you've done a great job of explaining things very clearly and thoroughly... thanks for the eBook and for great Videos. I am still hand carving basswood lures for now, maybe one day will move upto a lathe, but your techniques are all very helpful and educational. Thanks again. Mr. Adams
That would work just fine. You can perfom this center drilling on your drill press quite well too. If I am dong only couple lures to do I use the lathe. If I am doing several I will use the drill press. It just takes a few minutes to set up a jig that I clamp to the bese to insure proper alignment of the lure.
I have perchased Mr Adams E-book and have since finish my first batch of lures that came out nice. :) Mr Adams was very helpful and game me tips via email that really helped me out. Its great that "fianally" there is a book and a website for the beginner who wants to get started in this fun hobby. Thanks Mr. Adams!

It is a wood lathe with a drill chuck and bit attached.
@Brutuss04 You are very welcome.
@gwilson61 The lathe is a Grizzly G9247 MiniLathe
what kind of wood ?
What type of lathe are you using? Nice work!
Hi, very nice lure! What wood material you are using?
@gwilson61 I use eastern red cedar.
Why not drill through the piece of wood first and then start shaping the lure on the lathe?
