- For my final adventure in Iraq, I went to get a haircut at a local barber shop. Come with me as I enjoy an Iraqi haircut in Erbil, Iraq! At this barber shop in Erbil, I got a beard trim and lining, as well as a face waxing and a full head shave. Then, he applied powder and water to my face and another guy came in to give me a head, neck, shoulder, and back massage!

Had a haircut in a barbershop in Aleppo, Syria, two weeks before the civil war broke out.
Hi David. I am not sure exactly where you are right now, but I hope you are enjoying yourself. Well, all good things must come to an end and it's so sad to see this series come to that end. Someone should have told the guy you wanted a full shave. A little lost in translation. He did a good job though. I have never seen you so exhausted even though you had that massage as well: maybe it was past bedtime. So, let me give an overview of this Iraq series. I loved the food, the markets, the ancient ruins, the scenic and panoramic view of the places you and Tasos visited. Learned a lot about the history and culture of Iraq. Learned a lot about the people as well. Some things were surprising, some were not. Last but not least, let me say this about the Iraqi people. You all have been the most generous, kind, hospitable and gentle people. You all treated David and Tasos like they were one of your own. Kudos to Jafar, Ali and all the other people who were part of this series. David, Nathan, Brandon and the entire team, you all did a great job. Pat on each and everyone of your backs. To the Iraq people, I can only wish you PEACE and blessings on you all. And, like David said, "do not judge a book by it's cover". So, David, cheers, and now on to the next one.
