Hey Nate: This is just my way of saying *THANK YOU* for giving us the *GRAND TOUR* of the place that you consider to be home. I think I speak for all of us when I say that I am *HONORED* to be one of the lucky ones that you/Jen would like to *SHARE* your lives with and I will *NEVER* misplace the trust that you've built toward me!!! ~ JonseyG 👲💖
I have the same washing machine. I like it a lot, but have discovered that lint & animal hair accumulate in the deep groove around the door gasket. A soft-bristle toothbrush does the clean-up job. Nice little home you made!
Wow! I'm so glad you did a thorough look around the whole house! You and Jen have turned 300 sq. feet into a cozy, inviting space in my estimation..and that is very hard to do!!! I adore the wood burning stove and they are great. We had a Franklin Wood Burning Stove in our old house and I hated to leave it when we moved but it actually helped sell the place. Lord Minion gives that really precious touch to the house! Thanks for showing us around!!!!
It's a great house. Little bit cramped, BUT you are planning a house and I am certain that you will lay it out really well. For now you are comfortable, warm, and it's a pleasant environment. Jen is a blessing. I really like her. 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the tour! Looking 'plush' by most standards, and really comfy!😉 Happy to see Minion so comfortable, also. Every inch of space seems to be used to perfection!😊 Really good work, Nate!!❤
Terrific little tour of the budding kingdom; it's kewl to see all the bits n pieces coming together. The woman's touch is evident, and it's great that you've now got someone to share your grand adventure with. She's the perfect person for you Nate, and if you guys can last in that cramped but efficient little space for a couple of years, you'll probably be able to last the whole journey. The contrast between an almost NYC style studio apartment, but with the grand panorama of nature just outside your windows; that contrast is very unique, and probably one of the aspects of your lifestyle that will preserve your 'sanity' and friendship, beyond 'just a love affair'... plus having the prospect of building your 'dream house' looming in the near future is something that very few people will ever experience in their lifetimes. So, 'good on ya', Nate, as the Ozzies say... (OK, they really say 'good on ya mate'). You've managed to figure out a new and radically different approach to the concept of 'homesteading', (and life in general!); utilizing all the perks that Social Media can offer. Very clever, and above all, FUN! I know it's a lot of hard work out there for you guys, but the payoff is going to be SWEET... ;) Looking forward, I can see the possibility of a very interesting and unique book/screenplay/other project eventually developing out of this experience; maybe once the house is built, or in progress. Now, if your neighbor Will could only find his 'other half' to help him navigate through his very different but equally unique journey, well that would be really grand...
This truly was a great video Nate amazing job you and Jen really have a wonderful small home I can’t wait to see when you get your house built keep up the great work you 😊
All you have to do is #1, what makes YOU happy. Ease of things as you grow older. You physically can't do things you can do yourself today versus when you become 50 or 60. Use your time now to prepare those comforts as you traverse towards old age. Keep in mind until the late 19th century old age was around 40. Natural life expectancy has always hovered around 40 years of age without medical intervention. Similar to a horse! I'm serious. Blink your eyes and 10 years has passed. Gets faster as you age. A what-is I guess.
Good advice here, to be sure. At 68 (going on 86), with burgeoning health issues (and all the problems that the USA [and UHC] seems to currently be plagued with regarding the fair and humane care of our senior citizens). Planning ahead, especially considering that there is a small age disparity between you two, (which will hopefully amount to nothing, depending on your genetic destinies), planning ahead for these things is most worthwhile...
When you have to go fast😂.Or sick to your stomach like food poisoning. A pizza not long ago we were sick for 3 days telling the other to hurry up on the throne.
If you look at the picture before clicking onto the video you are posting, it looks like an Indian lady spirit looking into your sliding door, just behind you in the picture. Looks like you may have some friends watching over you👻
I would totally live there nate! beautiful job. i've learned to be a minimalist these past few years. no one needs an endless supply of useless "things". i love all the work you've done for the community and of course for will survives!
Nate, you & Jen did a beautiful job with the living quarters. I really like the black & gray look throughout the entire place. It looks so cozy for the two of you. The view from the back deck is gorgeous. The animals all look so happy as well. I look forward to seeing the house building process. Wishing you all a safe, happy & healthy holiday season at the homestead. 🎄 Sending love from Saratoga Springs, NY. 🫶
lol my husband Chris was laughing at the part with the TV. As he never had a TV in his room until I moved in with him. The home quarters functions and you guys have done great with the set up! You can always turn it into a guest house or repurpose it when you build the house. ❤
I'm wailaki, concow native American. Live off grid, weathered the elements for days/years now. Have no idea, but relate. I'm single. Mainly because I rough it. High pooch man@ god bless
Nate, do you have carbon monoxide detectors? Probably a good thing to have. That stuff's a silent killer. Love the videos as always. Much love from The Netherlands 😄
Your place is bigger than my studio apartments that used to be a office and then storage for the apartment complex. I measured my apartment and my apartment is 17 feet 9 inches by 12 feet 1 inch. My apartment is really small.
He got most of it from his former job as a contractor, he said a few times it was he’s own business and it did quite well which I can imagine from seeing how he works on his own homestead
I think your little house is great. I don’t Homestead, but I completely understand why building a big house would not be the main priority. You gotta be able to get everything going and running on your Homestead and a functional garage, etc. is more important. But you guys have a great little place right now and eventually, you can build a house the way you want it. Most people live in houses that are way way too big for them anyway. I like your little house. My house is 690 ft.² and it’s perfect for one or two people. Wouldn’t want more than that in here but it’s good.
Not to tell you what to do cause you seem to be doing exactly what you want and that's what matters, but have you looked into an incinerating toilet? Have a place in VT that we can't maintain the septic so we switched to an incinerating toilet - it's great for #2, #1s not "great" but it works fine enough (we actually added a regular toilet for just #1 for convenience last year that drains into the septic, which is fine)
@Narrowayhomestead hey thanks for the reply man! I say they're really only worth it for the convenience of having a toilet in the house if you can't get to the full plumbing (septic etc). What we ran into was: 1. Urine takes a long time to "incinerate" and if it gets used a few times back to back for #1 and #2, it doesn't incinerate fully and you end up with layers of half burned liners and other stuff 2. The smell is almost unbearable - we sorta had "no choice" to use it (or no affordable choice), ways to mitigate this is with an overlong vent pipe, but you're still always at the mercy of the wind. Still using it, but added the regular toilet just for #1 and it has reduced both issues - burning urine smells way worse somehow than #2 does. For 2 people, and a gentleman that doesn't mind going #1 outside, it might be "worth it" for you, but just wanted to give you my experience! Also know people who use composting toilets, and they're switching over to an incinerating toilet, mostly due to effort, and smell with the composting toilets.
When you clear out the current storage will you make another room there or current situation is good enough and you'll start thinking about building the house instead?
Officer Meow Meow said chip a child program so I gave the chips back thinking no way these are free... next day you go to Vegas? hmmmm... It's a no brainer.
you must have flew. that was fast. But why as jenniffer driving allen county deputy prosecutors vehicle to bring creepy pasta mattresses on eagle creek?
I really want to try your coffee. I'm big on my morning cup of energy but idk which one I'd like. I'm waiting for a hater to say something so I can get a discount. Lol. Maybe I'll be the hater. Lol
@@lindalarsson1436 Maybe you should go watch the 4 hour and 39 minute video titled "what the hell happened" 😂 He's got a lot more to lose now. Everyone gets so defensive here JFC.
Jen definitely made her mark on you and the homestead ❤
Commence to Jigglin’!
It’s a beautiful place! That stove is NICE! Trust me I would love a smaller house! So much easier to heat and clean! Nate and Jen make a great team.
Very cozy looking and creative use of space! If this is a glimpse of what's to come for your house, I can only imagine how amazing it's going to be! ❤

That's a fantastic stove!! 🥰

One fire for multiple uses, careful of the TV time. You can wile away the hours easily. My dad always called it the idiot box!! Your place seems cozy
Haha! My dad called it the "boob tube". If he'd had his way, we would have never had one in the house.
I'm so excited to buy my first piece of Land. Your videos are inspiring

I'm not sure if it's Nates or Jens but it's cool to see one of them has Shinedown clothing. What a band.
Turning out awesome really nice❤❤❤❤
Very nice.

Awesome,Great work!
When you guys are much older you may want to install a septic system. For convenience especially in the winter. 💯💙😸✌

Having that big room above the garage will help make some space if you need it for projects, etc.
You’re a great builder Nate! I could see you making a how to series in basic construction and it would be amazing 😂
Hey hey Nate!
Lord Minion!
The tiny 10 months of living in the house looks very cozy
