    The biggest problem with the jumping one is if you arent in a two point in real life you wont be sitting in the saddle when that horse jumps let alone lands! I would love to try one of these things especially seeing as the more time your in the saddle the better off you are and i dont always have time to go out and ride

  • @sfequestrian6754
    @sfequestrian6754 4 года назад +6

    I once tried one of these and it may not have been the most realistic. But it did show me some things I needed to improve, and it was very helpful since I could focus a little more on myself rather than my spook-prone horse. 😂

    • @ajr4ng
      @ajr4ng 9 лет назад +4

      David Rothero I agree that this may help a beginner rider, but horses aren't machines. Once you get to a higher level of riding you can't rely on a horses predictability. You have to get to know how each individual horse moves and reacts. Being on a robot doesn't teach you that.

    • @SunnysRoyalSkipper
      @SunnysRoyalSkipper 7 лет назад +13

      The simulators are in no way meant to be a replacement for riding a real horse. They are not meant for people to ride for a while and then go hop on a real horse and hit a x country course. They are mainly for riders to use to see if they are unbalanced in their seat or legs, if their leg position is off, if they are unbalanced on the reins, etc. the sim has sensors all over it to record and compile data so the rider can learn where they need to improve. it is more precise than just seeing how a horse reacts or just watching a rider. however, bc technology is not yet at a point where it can perfectly mimic a horse's movement and since this has no forward movement, you do have to take that into consideration. Obviously this is not a way for someone to learn how to ride or jump bc as good as it is, it is not the same as a real horse. It is very different to riding a horse and having forward motion. So, you can use it to help with balance problems and such and to help build muscles, but it is not a replacement for riding a real horse and is not meant to be.

    • @frootloopssz
      @frootloopssz 6 лет назад +2

      SpottedTiger Me too also as a horse rider why is this even created? Horses are not that perfect , they have their own styles of doing it some more gentle , some more hard or fast etc. It’s better to train normally in real life. BUT it’s good for beginners and those who need to gain some balance and get used to it.

    • @cetariw-a4890

      Its a good way to get used to a proper jumping position, but yes. once you start actually jumping. You need to change your technique according to your horse. Every horse is different.

    I think it's a great idea for improving people's seat and confidence, alongside lessons on a real horse. I have my own horse and would love to have a go! Those saying it can't do anything unexpected.... well isn't that the point? It means the rider can concentrate on the purely mechanical parts of balancing over the horse's movement, without having to worry about anything else.

    I think this would be great is terms of teaching the basics without harming a horse with a bad hand position (such as ruining a horses mouth) it also looks like it would be good for teaching riders their seat. However, every horse has its own personality and feelings that ridding might be modified to fit (such as keeping your heels off or having a very gentle rein approach)

    These simulations are not aimed towards people at a lower level. They're actually for people at a much higher level. They give them the opportunity to practice their jumping at any time. It's important to give your horse time off or just focus on ground work. This machine lets you continue practicing jumping. You should really learn about these simulations. They're made after extensive research of horse movements. Of course this is not exactly real riding, but it's enough to give you practice

      If yall would be logical she is not on a real horse. This simulator slows things down making it harder to get into two point plus staring at the screen you cannot find a distance and she does not have a real feel on the horses mouth because news flash the horse aint real. No horse lands that slow and looking at the screen would get most people motion sick. PLUS each horse has their own different style of jumping and some horse dont even need to you to go into two point because they are more down hill and all you need to do is stand and release. It is most likely awkward sitting on this horse because A: again it is not a real horse.

    This looks like a lot of fun! But everyone needs to calm down :) I don't think its intended to teach riders how to jump, in her position she barely leaves the seat which in reality would ensure a very bump ride :P I think its probably just for fun! The movement seems pretty realistic, but slow so perhaps it could have been designed more for that.

  • @j52marin
    @j52marin 11 лет назад

    I think this would be a great learning tool.
    While learning to jump, the horse suddenly refused and I fell and badly bruised my ribs.
    The fault was mine. Going into proper jump position was not yet instinctive for me and I leaned too far forward impeding the horse's shoulder which was a factor in the refusal.
    Had I had the opportunity to practice on this device, I could have developed better form in a controlled environment which would definitely have been beneficial when on a real horse.

    Gotta say, nice idea, but nothing like the real thing, horses move the saddle differently. You will sorta tip on each side then they move. It won’t be as smooth as this.

    They forget some things:
    1. The horse can't throw you off or buck
    2. An actual jump Were the "rider" has to stand in the saddle
    3. Its kinda slow
    4. Just.. *no*

    I mean it’s really not fair for everyone to be comparing this to a real horse. We are all well aware that it’s not the same experience. A horse is a living, breathing animal with a mind of its own. Horses are like people at times-they have personalities, make mistakes, have off days, etc. They’re not robots, and the creators and riders of this simulator are well aware of that. They remade the experience of riding a horse and well as they could, but it’s obviously not going to be exactly the same. I don’t think that people should have as high a standard for this simulator as they do. And to everyone commenting rude things about the rider’s position 1. Riding a simulator horse is a lot different from riding a real one-you may have to ride the two a bit differently 2. So let’s just say that actually is her 2-point position. It’s incredibly rude to be saying that she shouldn’t be riding real horses because you think her position is bad. Everyone always has something to learn about horseback riding-something about themselves that they’re working on. For example, I lean forward too much. Constructive criticism is awesome when given respectfully, but flat out insulting her is just wrong. Are you trying to help her or tear her down to boost your ego?

    ive riden one of these before multiple times when i was younger and i ride still now on reall horses the machine is meant to help with form and techniqe so you can focus with out having to worry about the horse you know how riding in a round pen or arena is compared to riding on trails or field this is like the round pen version of the round pen and although the one i rode had alot more power atleast compared to what i can see. this isnt meant to be like the olympic ring its a training tool as well as the momentum when riding is forward and back while this is down momentum which i can say from experiance makes it very hard to trot

    People who tell you to sell a horse just because of a few quirks cannot say anything about the ir riding ability. The basis of thay assumption is thay those that cannot work past a few vices cannot progress because their only solution is to ride a horse that eill babysit them and do the same course without a rider on their back. Keep working at it and have fun. He is not beligerant or dangerous..and bucking is certainly a fixable issue whether a tack change, chiroprater/massage or more exercise.

    sigh the point of this thing isn't to just ride, it measures where in the saddle you have your weight, if you have uneven pressure on the reins, stuff like that. it's supposed to be used to improve your riding by showing you more exactly what to improve, in a way that you cant measure on an actual horse since they're often uneven themselves and similar stuff.

    This machine is strictly for learning form and developing muscle memory. We all know being on this thing is NOTHING like a real horse. You could learn the basics of technique, body position, and letting your body get the feel on how to do it right. You can concentrate on what you're doing right/wrong and not what your horse is doing. Of course you would also learn on the horse but everyone has to start somewhere.

  • @03firefly

    This doesn't replace riding a real horse and the horses at Chuck E Cheese are not the same as these. These simulation horses are made after extensive research. The point of these are to practice the particulars. The little things that an instructor might not be able to see when you're on a real horse. Your instructor can stand next to you while you're on this and guide you through motions. It's like putting a horse on a treadmill. It's not to replace actual riding, just an aide.
