I love your videos but would find it really useful to see the settings under the photos you show. Especially on a lens like this it is not obvious if you shot at ƒ/1 or stopped down and what shutter speeds/ISOs you use.
I got the M-mount version of this lens and am using it on my Z w/ the fotodiox close focus adaptor. I'm curious about if there is any advantage to the native Z mount to this setup.
Hi Becky and Kon. Thanks for this video. Do you have a preference between this lens and the Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 for Z mount which you also reviewed recently? Other than the difference in field of view, do you prefer the rendering of one lens over the other? Thank you!
Excellent as always. Picking up the 17-28 F/2.8 today. It will go nicely with my 28-75mm F/2.8 lens for travel. Cheers! I am also doing a series on the Z7II using the days in counting down to the Z8 announcement on May 10th.
Very different lenses, vintage vs modern. Voigtlander is absolutely usable anywhere between the f/1 and f/2.8 and that what it is primarily designed for. However focusing practice is required to be able to nail the shots at such shallow depth of field.

@graysofwestminster If you (I) are paying 1500 more for the 1.0 than for a "standard" 1.8, you (I) want to be sure that the 1.0 to 1.8 range is useable with MF... and what I interpret from your video is that it may extremely hard to :-( .
Just got my Zf today! I just mounted my Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 F Mount using the FTZ but the "Lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture" message shows up. I see no way to get around using the command dial for setting aperture. I would like the ability to go full retro with my Zf and use lens aperture rings as you appeared to be doing in your video. Do these Voigtlander Z mount lenses make it possible to use the lens aperture ring or is there a setting on the Z bodies I am missing that allows use of the lens aperture rings? Thanks for your video, looks like a lens I may be going with.
Images look great. Love the character that it renders. Low light should be quite good also. We’ll set up a go fund me for your bail if needed.🤣 Thanks for sharing.
Great to see the testing move to a place that plays to the strengths of the lens being tested. The rendering is pretty nice, but I'll still stick to my f/1.2 with its very handy autofocus :)
It is great that Voigtlander is making these in Z mount. However, I buy their M mount lenses so I can autofocus with the Techart AF adapter. It really is the best of both worlds.
Hello Both, I know that thing when security gards come up to you and say you're a pro you are not allowed to take photo's? But then you look arond and you see some many people with there iPhone or Phone Sony's all taking images. So at time it just make me think why do I both and then I just give up. Keep well, keep safe and did you find a fix for the colour cast in your livestream?
Thank you so much for this video! You folks always come through with the best videos for Voigtlander lenses on Z mount!
Thank you David!
The officer joke was pure gold 😂
Does focus peaking at f/1 is considerably not accurate ? have you tested it ? just curious about it. Thankyou.

Awesome video guys! I just bought one of these a few days ago! Should be with me soon, super excited for it to arrive!
I have taken screen shots of the 5 comparison portraits. I can confirm that the Voightlander shot at f1.0 is much more delightful with Becky!
Nice lens, great shots and review. Also fun to see my Kopitiam (mei mei) in the background 🙌🏻
The rendering is almost Hasselblad like. Beautiful.
Voigtlander lenses are very special. We really like that they do things differently compared to other brands.

To grow manual focus is necessary an atomos V5 or just use display?. Saludos 🇲🇽

We've just published a new Nikon Report with Kon's thoughts on the comparison: ruclips.net/video/c55Q6HNQvbU/видео.html
How about comparing to the apo?

Thank you for posting this. Impressive lens. I see on your website that you have a list of Z bodies and the required firmware. The Z9 is not listed.
This was great! Thank you for the review guys!
It’s a wonderful lens. Perfect size
Could you compare against the 1.8 as you recommended shooting the voit at 2.8. Better price match too.

I second the comment about a comparison with the 40 1.2, how do the two differ in rendering?

Can you declick it like the model on E and RF mounts?
Would like to know how it performed astro wise for astigmatism (winged stars). I use a 50mm on a tracker all the time.

Can the aperture be controlled with the aperture ring?
Great looking lens. No weather sealing to be seen hey? Old school film era style
Nice photos.

They are very different lenses and both will have their dedicated user base.
These came out great
thank you, this lens produces wonderful photographs!
Have you tested the Voigtlander 65 F2 for the Z series? Excellent video, by the way.
Yes, here: ruclips.net/video/99phE-0xKp4/видео.html
Nice! I’m looking foreword to the promised comparison.
Thank you, it's coming soon!
I'll look forward to that 50 1.2 and 50 1.0 comparison. I'm curious to see the difference in IQ.
it's coming soon!
Does it have electronic contacts?
Sure
nice - interested to see the comparison with the Nikon z 50mm 1.2 :D

what is the point in buying an f1 lens if you dont use it at f1. Ill use my f1.8 s instead.
Go for an f1.4 -better glass and build.
Just found out it’s 1700€ 😢, amazing lens though
"Hello officer"😂
looks like that comparison video you promised in the end never happened 🤔
It did happen, I've just watched it.
Have another look through their channel video list. It's dated May 2023.
@@artgreen6915 thanks, will have a look 😉
There is so much processing on these photos…
F2 or 2.8?!? It’s a 1.0 lens and that’s where to shoot it. There are better f2 50mm out there- Zeiss ZE/ZF, Voightlander APO Lanthar…
