Hey Jeff, I took the magic Mary in the orange grip compound through its paces in Whistler for 2 week, it was damp the first couple days then super dusty the rest of the trip, the grip was incredible, front wheel never slipped out and no punctures! About a years worth of riding in 2 weeks and they still look brand new
Magic Mary Addix Purple in the front MM Addix Orange in the rear... All year round riding in Northern Ireland, Rep. Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland, morzine, leogang mega avalanche. I have had Dirty Dans on my spare wheels for 3 years and only rode once!! Magic Marys are the ultimate alrounder everyday tyre/tire depending on where you are from :p
What gets me about MTB tires is the price. They are made in basically the same process that a car tire goes through but the amount of material is far less and I also suspect the government standards are no where near that of a car tire. Yet, ounce for ounce, they are far more expensive. Why is it that hobbies are the most expensive thing we can do? We're a bunch of suckers!
Economies of scale. It's probably close to 1 to 1, adult to car in the United States. Every car has 4 tires. Not even close to every adult has a mountain bike using these kinds of tires. And each bike that does exist has just two tires. That's not to say that manufacturers don't price this stuff as high as the market will bear. They do. But so do car tire manufacturers. Just cheaper to make higher volumes. I can get a WT DHF for $60~. My wife had to buy a tire recently due to picking up a screw. The tire alone was $250. I bet that tire is >$500 if produced at MTB tire scales.
Gary Collier. I agree, we cyclists are getting ripped off big time. Regardless of the r&d put into new tire profiles, the prices for 29er tires is outrageous! They'd sell tens of thousands more if the prices were in the $50 price point. What sucks the most; when you spend $150 + for new rubber, 8 oz of stans, your time to set up your ride, then go out to your favorite local track and return with underwhelming results. For that reason, I've stuck with my 2.35 up front, 2.25 rear, both SS nobby nicks on my XC 29er. Sometimes the grip/handling isn't greater than status quo.
Hi Ray. Completely false. In the US the average price of a car tire is between $100 and $200 for the major brands that all of the manufactures trust to put on their vehicles for sale in the US. Consumers can choose to purchase much more expensive tires but that doesn't mean the average priced tires are "rubbish". Quite the opposite in fact. In comparison, the average price of an MTB tire in the US is about $75. Again, for the major trusted brands. So as I stated before, ounce for ounce they are way more expensive. I have a set of Toyo tires on my Ram Pickup with 19K miles on them and they show almost no sign of wear. Good luck getting that kind of mileage out of any MTB tire. Even the most expensive. MTB is no different than any other hobby when it comes to the price of things. If you love doing it you'll spend the money on it and hobbies are expensive. Good day to you.
I run a magic merry in the front and a DHR ll in the rear. This is my First year on a magic merry and I’m impressed in the wet 100% I run a DHRII on the rear just because it is in my opinion the best rear tire for all season
You forgot to mention the magic mary is the only tire that is actually the size written on the box where the rest are smaller then advertised. I've been running MM for a 1.5 years and I love them, I live in Scotland, we don't have issues with dry and dusty condiction lol. I was the thinking bout trying the DHF but if thts the only advantage I'll just get another MM.
im replying to an old comment here but im thinking about either the magic mary or dhf for the front of my bike, living close to drumlanrig castle we dont get fully dry trails very often so the mm is probably going to be my choice, more so after reading your comment :)
Allright, thx for that! Totally agree on the slightly missing grip on dry packed soil. I chose Magics for my Big Bike anyway, as I ride it on all kinds of soils and conditions. I also did put some Magic on my Enduro for the Megavalanche, to avoid punctures on heavy duty terrain and it worked. But usualy I ride the fast rolling Hans Dampf on the rear and the new Fat Albert on the front. It‘s a matter of weight and reliabity for my rock-free trails. Have a nice weekend 🤙
This is a late response but I recently moved from the SW of England to Colorado, so I’ve gone from riding wet/muddy conditions to quite dry hardpac. I’ve got a 29x2.4 magic Mary/big Betty combo in the Addix soft and they have handled the hardpac very well. I thought I’d have to swap tires over once I moved here but I’ve had no issues
Interesting how people blame washing out on their tyres, rather than a lapse in technique or just bad luck. You might think that the tall knobs on the Magic Mary would be good at penetrating loose material to find the firm stuff underneath. Schwalbe do intend the tyre for mixed use. I expect it would be fine with the soft compound on hardpack too, though perhaps just not as fast. The Magic Mary's high volume and low weight compared to the DHF lineup should also be taken into consideration.
Choosing a tyre combo is painful! I went through 3 DHF tyres in one month, all sidewall punctures. One was EXO+ and the other two were DD. So after a year on Michelins, which are supergood by the way, I choose MM/HD combo for a change. I was happy with the choice until I watched this video! Living in northern Spain so loose over hard is 90% of my riding. To return them or not is the question, you have planted doubt in my mind 😂😭
Maxxis minion DHF in the front , maxxis highroller 2 in the rear, both are 27.5 by 2.8 , they are set up tubeless with 16 psi in both, and they mounted under a Trek fuel ex 8. Which I ride almost every day.
Durability, man come out to the east coast, most people run Maxxis, maybe they have this colt following or ... but I race and do heavy freeride, huge jumps, and rock gardens, and I have to say on my Nomad and V10 I run Magic Mary with DH casing folding beads with inserts. Got tired of ripping Maxxis tires, too expensive to run that brand. Also took a few rounds on Michelins, Kenda, Hutch., and Contis., Mary's bless all my rims. Facts, I do not take two or three sets of spare wheels anymore with me to races or weekend trips when I switched to Magics, just maybe a spare rear just to be safe.
Just brought an emtb that came with Schwalbes. I live in San Diego County . After riding DHFs the past few years, this review is spot on. It The Schwalbes were not holding in the corners where the DHFs normally would. I have to do the tubeless conversion. I have a new set of DHF that I will be replacing the Schwalbes. BTW my 1st 6 mile ride, both HR & calories burned were where higher.
To sum things up from a European point of view with dry hot summers and muddy winters: on my EMTB in summer are the Maxxis DHF (rear!) and DHR (front!) - perfect for loose dirt over hard tracks - , in winter it's the Schwalbe Eddy Current (soft compound/rear) and Magic Mary (soft compound/front). None is better than the other. They are just different tires for different conditions.
Funny, I have had the exact opposite experience between these tires. It might be due to tire and rim internal width combinations, tire pressures, and cornering technique. I ran exo 3C 2.35" DHF front and DHRII 2.35 rear combo for about 10 rides last summer and went back to Magic Marys snakeskin trailstar and/or addix soft despite the improved rolling resistance of the Maxxis tires. I do know the side knob squirm you describe of the Magic Marys. You can feel them squirm doing cutties on pavement, but I think this gives you better off camber traction. Nice comparison!
Worldwide Cyclery I am down in Orange County, so loose over hard with the occasional Big Bear trip every few weeks. Headed to St George next week so I will see if I still feel the same after. Your shop is great. Picked up an angleset for nearly shop cost through you.
love my magic marys it hardly ever gets dry and dusty here in the uk so i can run them all year round, they are great loads of grip and rare to get a flat even with a hardtail
In Germany the maxxis are more expencive than the schwalbe. I do not like the ultrasoft in dry conditions. The nobs are too soft to dig in the ground, thats true. Therefore I prefer the soft version in dry conditions.
I have a dhf on the front but I changed my rear tyre from. A Vigilante to a dh34 michelin and wow game changer almost identical tread pattern to dhf . If your dhf consider a dh34!
I rock the DHF front and rear and it is an amazing tire. Great at everything except wet rock. Best tire I have ever ridden/owened. My set up is 29x2.5 on a full suspension.
i mostly agree. DHF has more robust sidewalls. I shredded Mary sidewalls in rocky chunk like Bootleg canyon NV or The bottom of Noble canyon in So Cal. Mary is softer, more compliant and conforms better at the expense of durrability
@@seanmolloy9422 Magic Mary is sold with at least 3 types of carcass: Snakeskin (lightest and apparently not sturdy enough), Apex (intermediate) and Super Gravity (toughest). That's why I asked which carcass you used, because if it was a Snakeskin, a Super Gravity might be tough enough for you.
@@macvos i have owned at least 4 magic marys. none of them lived till they wore out. I do recall 1 of them being thicker feeling but it also did not hold up .
Currently riding the Magic Mary and they're pretty good on the wet because they were based on the old Muddy Mary mud tires. I will go back to DHF's after these wear out because of money. lol
Yeah totally agree about the Mary's washing out on loose over hard, I have Mary's on my DH and a dhf up front on my trail bike. I haven't ridden the dhf much but I can back up everything you've said. The Mary is amazing in the wet and I would consider it a semi mud tyre where the dhf is an all round downhill do it all tyre
It seems for me its harder to get punctures with magic marys, where as ive punctured dhf's multiple times. I think magic marys may have a stiffer side wall coz even when its flat without too much weight on it, it still keeps its shape, unlike maxxis tyres, idk just feels more reassuring to me lmao.
Currently I'm running a minion dhr soft compound on the rear and Hughroller 2 on the front both tyres 2.3 and 24 psi front 28 psi rear Really grippy tyre in the soft mud here in Ireland
Worldwide Cyclery Haven't tried them yet but planning to when these tyres die I have a set hansdamf and Magic Mary addix waiting In Ireland we have really thick mud because of rain although today it has been drying out really when
In Western North Carolina (Pisgah, Bent Creek, Dupont) Maxxis Ardent on the front, Maxxis Aggressor on the rear. All conditions, year round. great combination in the terrain here that goes from slick mud in Bent creek to sandy, packed flow in Dupont to chunky rocks and slick wet roots in Pisgah.
On my(incomplete - lol)All Mountain project bike, I decided to go with a 2.6 Rocket Ron\2.4 Nobby Nic Addix Speed Grip combo... PS: 1. I believe in keeping things a light as possible & that combo is lightest with decent reviews... 2. I am one who often practices in a 'set it up & make do' sort of way - where in this case I'll adjust to suit the bike's capabilities - instead of trying to make the perfect bike... So for example, if lower tyre pressures help you corner faster - I'll stick with higher pressures - & just ride a little slower(because I'm not competing)...
Isn't the rocket Ron a less grippy tire than the nobby nic? Seems like an XC tire setup but in reverse and larger width. How you liking it? My bike came with schwalbe tough toms which were supposedly pretty crappy but I can't believe how long they've lasted and they've been awesome. Kinda makes you think it's possible to still ride well without the grippiest tires available.
But the MM in the super gravity casing is so damp on the trail. Almost no comparison to the Maxxis DD casing. I was the biggest Maxxis fan boy until I rode the Schwalbe SG. You really don't realize how much the Maxxis pings you around the trail until you roll a super gravity. Worth the weight penalty.
try the proper dh casing from maxxis, dd is not a downhill casing. Also the compoumd makes a huge difference. maxxgrip feels great. what i have also experienced, after switching tire brands and / or casings, i always fin tune the suspension.
Magic Mary up front, Big Betty on the rear still, but I'm waiting for the new radial Magic Mary and a rear Shredda to test that combo out! The new Shredda has a dedicated front and rear tire, so I'll try them both, and then the new MM radial with the radial Shredda and Albert's next time to try and find a new combo of radials.
You can run them front or rear but they are most commonly run on the front. However, Sam Hill won a TON of DH world cups running an DHF front and rear. Steve Smith won world cups riding Magic Marry's front and rear. They are pretty universal.
My bike can e stock with magic marrys and the front end tends to wonder in the wet leaning into a berm I love it on the rear for climbing clay hills as it grips up but have been a maxxis guy from day one
I've ridden both extensively in Colorado. MM can be pushed further in extreme conditions (think steep, loose, unpredictable terrain) and the casing has better damping than Maxxis. The DHF (currently running) rolls noticeably faster, has more return from the casing. MM also has intermediate tread, while DHF has channels between rolling and side knobs. They're actually very different tires for how often they get compared. Comes down to what you want; a lively, fast rolling, high grip DHF, or a dead, straight tracking, maximum grip MM?
I've recently had a chance to ride DHFs on a couple of different bikes, (Kona Honzo & Yeti Lunch Ride.) I did not care for them either time. They performed well in the sandy bits at low speed, but on rocky and loose over hard descents, they understeered constantly, regardless of angle. I've heard for ages that to get a DHF to hook up, "Ya just gotta lean over farther," but laying the bike on its side just seemed to make the drift worse. I prefer a tire that doesn't have an "eff you" channel on either side of the center knobs. I'd rather pick the angle of lean appropriate to the trail than rely on hero moves to make the tire do its job. Maybe it's a fat kid problem, but I am definitely not part of the Minion fan club.
the DHF *do* tend to understeer while braking, as they have shitty braking grip compared to the Magic Mary. On hard surfaces they have the best and also most forgiving cornering available. When it gets wet and muddy ist a different Story though.
Also with the DHF you specifically get away with not laying the bike over more than on other tires, as the middle section of the tread also has good cornering, not only the shoulder knobs as with other tires.
Eric Bourne Sorry, that reply holds no water. I've ridden other tires, (even some trail and XC tires,) that gave me no issue at higher speeds through terrain the DHFs gave up on. It's cool that you love the Minions, but the idea that DHFs are the one true DH tire is nonsensical. Minnar doesn't even use it. His new Maxxis tire has intermediate knobs.
Looking at the DHF outer knobs they seem so far apart from the center that make me believe that in transitioning from the center knobs to the outer that maybe it has a dead zone, will take more leaning of the bike to engage the outer knobs, no?
Yes leaning the bike over more will definitely help engage the outer knobs more. It does have a little bit of a "dead zone" but once you get used to it feels completely natural. Takes a couples rides though for sure :)
I wanted to try the magic Mary’s as I have always only Rode Maxxis. For durability they were a huge let down side nobs started tearing from the inside and making it wash way too soon. I ride Canadian Rocky’s so we have all Of the above conditions. When they are new they definitely grip amazing on rocks and loamy conditions . Agreed about the terrible grip in dusty over hard. DHF Is a much better tire all around and more confident inspiring in corners .
I just ordered the Magic Mary Addix Appex Spd grip Trail 2.8 width for rear tire on my 27.5 + Scott Scale hard tail. I currently have the light Rocket Ron’s with no snakeskin. I actually love them, but not for rear tire, just not tough enough. Front tire barely has any wear. I roll mostly on SC FATS flow trails. Would love to try Maxxis one day if they are ever in stock again.
Have a trailstar magic mary up front and a dhf double down in rear works well all around for me. My other bike trying hans damph super gravity in rear, we will see I have went through alot of schwalbe tires in rear, from knob's fraying apart to gashed sidewalls. They were not super gravity though. I wouldn't run a maxxis in rear unless it was double down.
So these are what you run in the front, what do you run in the rear? If you have the DHF in front what is in the rear and when you run the Magic Mary in the front what do you have in the rear for the conditions you where describing?
I'm running in Ardent race on the rear and Maxxis aggressor in the front. Only have run this combo for a short time but so far I like it. I won't run schwalbe's cuz I haven't had good luck with them in the past lots of tears and cuts although I've never ran the magic Mary
Nice review! I’m considering putting some Maxxis tires on my Epic... right now I have S-Works Ground Controls and I’m wondering how the stack up in your opinion! I’m still kind of new so your opinion matters. I would love it if you could review the Ground Controls. 👊🏽😎 thanks
I have not used them before so tough to say, but from looking at them they seem to be a fairly fast rolling tire, not too heavy, and good all around trail tire. The DHF will definitely give you more grip if that is what you are looking for. What specific Maxxis tires were you looking at?
Just ordered two Maxxis Minion 27.5 x 2.8 DHF tires for my diamondback catch 1 for front and rear. Never liked having a slicker or less grip tire on the rear as the front and rear performance isn’t balanced. Imagine doing this on a $350,000 Lamborghini. Just a bad idea all around. When I ride friends bikes set up like that it just don’t feel right. The rear tire just feels loose and ready to fall out from under me in tight and/or fast turns. Yet I always point out they crash for some reason or another and I don’t but they won’t try it!... 🤤....... 🤔😖 You should try it if you haven’t yet. Let me know results if you have already or try it. Just favorite my comment after your reply and it alerts me. I get no notice if you just comment.
Serious Question: currently running MM's as I wanted to try something different, but going back to DHF. Still have decent tread left on my front MM and wanted to put it on the on the rear with a new DHF up front. Is it taboo to mix the brands?
Love them. Never failed me in muddy or dry conditions both in the flat Netherlands and steep Alps. Never had a flat either. Only downside is slight deformation of the carcass and bad damping characteristics (they're very springy).
Schwalbe tires have much greater volume, which I prefer.
Hey Jeff, I took the magic Mary in the orange grip compound through its paces in Whistler for 2 week, it was damp the first couple days then super dusty the rest of the trip, the grip was incredible, front wheel never slipped out and no punctures! That's great to hear! Marys are amazing for that kind of terrain and hugely popular because of it. Glad you are getting good use out of yours :)
Awesome vid! My decision is made!

It's called a 'Tyre'
Probably because a car tyre doesn't have to grip on rock ,mud ,ice ,roots ,sand etc etc . Survive sharp rocks ....shall I carry on ?

@@macvos SG is really stiff sidewall. EXO is more flexable. both are leaps tougher than any version of Mary.....i have not used snakeskin version
@@seanmolloy9422 but you can't recall whether one of them was SG?
I'm all about Vittorio, the Martello hasn't left me hanging ever.
I've just bought the DHF 👌
All your vids I've watched are great. Thanks for the good info and opinions
Again, very informative. I’m learning a lot.
Ali Aliabadi glad you liked it! Thanks!
Diggin the comparison vids! 👍🏽
Ernie Aguilar thanks! Any others you'd like to see?
I respect a man who puts a shop towel between the stand and the post.
You get the magic Mary for 19,99 € in Germany sometimes. Just amazing they last unbelievably long
Where haha, link? 😅
Very simple.
In mud MM>DHF
In dry DHF>MM
But a new contender has appeared
In mud Vigilante > MM
In mud - Dirty Dan > ....
Maxxis dhf takes the cake for me, perfect for SoCal
For both front and rear or you run dhr on the rear?
It seems for me its harder to get punctures with magic marys, where as ive punctured dhf's multiple times. I think magic marys may have a stiffer side wall coz even when its flat without too much weight on it, it still keeps its shape, unlike maxxis tyres, idk just feels more reassuring to me lmao.
Here in the UK the Magic is amazing...
thats what i said perfect for uk , we hardly ever get blown out conditions
I live in Washington state so I’d probably have to go with the magics
I agree. Honestly a godsend, even the bikepark version which I had for ages.
Spot on! Exactly my experience with both these tires!
Awesome thanks for the feedback and for watching. :)
Magic Mary BEST!
Currently I'm running a minion dhr soft compound on the rear and Hughroller 2 on the front both tyres 2.3 and 24 psi front 28 psi rear Really grippy tyre in the soft mud here in Ireland
Marc Darr nice! For that kind of dirt, have you ever tried the Magic Mary?
Worldwide Cyclery Haven't tried them yet but planning to when these tyres die I have a set hansdamf and Magic Mary addix waiting In Ireland we have really thick mud because of rain although today it has been drying out really when
I use a minion on the front and high roller on the back,it works great, give it a try
To faithful for maxxis love them in any condition and wheel size especially for 26in
In Western North Carolina (Pisgah, Bent Creek, Dupont) Maxxis Ardent on the front, Maxxis Aggressor on the rear. All conditions, year round. great combination in the terrain here that goes from slick mud in Bent creek to sandy, packed flow in Dupont to chunky rocks and slick wet roots in Pisgah.
Nice comparison, Germany where Schwalbe is from is not as dry as California though …:)
for me damp/wet magic mary, Dry der kaiser project, all round continental trail king
I’d take the versatility of the DHF any day
Newer compound Magic mary is better than everything.
I don’t care about thread patterns.
But Onza...and WTB...
I use magic mary in the dry colorado trails and they stick better than maxxis when cornering. I run them tubeless with very low psi.
Magic Mary up front, Big Betty on the rear still, but I'm waiting for the new radial Magic Mary and a rear Shredda to test that combo out! The new Shredda has a dedicated front and rear tire, so I'll try them both, and then the new MM radial with the radial Shredda and Albert's next time to try and find a new combo of radials.
so are they mostly good for front tire application ?
might be worth mentioning.
great video Jeff as always
You can run them front or rear but they are most commonly run on the front. However, Sam Hill won a TON of DH world cups running an DHF front and rear. Steve Smith won world cups riding Magic Marry's front and rear. They are pretty universal.
Hey it would be great to see a comparison between the Minions and Bontrager XR4 Team issue tires. They ride really nice, cost less, and last longer!
I would agree that they are very different tires for how often they get compared, nice feedback! Thanks for watching! :)
No problem. Thanks for the good content... and for selling full Sram groupsets!
What about magic mary in fornt and minnion dh in back 🤔
jeromie norton im about to buy that setup
@@harryhowell9550 how are you liking it? My bike came with 2.6 magic mary's front and back and it feels like I'm dragging bricks behind me
@@mountainsteward7776 siskui n7? haha my bike was the same. DHR 2 max terra exo+ and mary up front grip for days!!
This guy clearly knows what he is talking about
I've recently had a chance to ride DHFs on a couple of different bikes, (Kona Honzo & Yeti Lunch Ride.) I did not care for them either time.
Maybe it's a fat kid problem, but I am definitely not part of the Minion fan club.
lol u dont know how to ride. dhf's are THE BEST cornering dh tire.
the DHF *do* tend to understeer while braking, as they have shitty braking grip compared to the Magic Mary.
James Brant I'm listening. What's the right way?
Love the Maxxis tires best.
I'll let you know which one, after you accidentally leave the side door open to your shop!!!!!
don christie O don't find the funny of it
Hey Cristian, what I meant was- leaving side door open would allow me to steal either pair, then I would decide which one I liked. Peace brother
don christie 😂😂😂😂😂👍 same
I wanted to try the magic Mary’s as I have always only Rode Maxxis.
Can't go wrong with a DHF!
Which compound and casing did you use? The Addix compounds are supposed to be miles better in the durability compartment.
i prefer the DHF because the Look is amazing and they feel amazing every time i ride them
I look forward too it!
MM are more for wet/muddy conditions
Keep the videos coming. Killing it.
jeremy ray thanks! Really appreciate that. Got any video ideas for us that you'd like to see?
What was Jordan doing down there?
I just ordered the Magic Mary Addix Appex Spd grip Trail 2.8 width for rear tire on my 27.5 + Scott Scale hard tail. I currently have the light Rocket Ron’s with no snakeskin. I actually love them, but not for rear tire, just not tough enough. Front tire barely has any wear. I roll mostly on SC FATS flow trails. Would love to try Maxxis one day if they are ever in stock again.
just as i thought maxxis work better in hot climate and schwalbe if you live in the UK
Vittoria martello has square supported knobs that roll fast and bite when cornering.
Going to have to give it a try!
When I worked in a motorcycle shop I hated the customers whingeing about prices. Seems people haven't changed.
True that!
Yeah I've had a hanz dampf for about 6 months and the knobs are already starting to split
So these are what you run in the front, what do you run in the rear? If you have the DHF in front what is in the rear and when you run the Magic Mary in the front what do you have in the rear for the conditions you where describing?
Popular combinations are DHF front and DHR II rear and the Magic Mary front and Hans Dampf rear. :)
Thanks, I will check them out.
Ride Hard and Take Chances.
2x magic mary, if it's dry MM on front and rock razor on the back.
HELLO greetings from mexico sorry for using translator
Is the Magic Mary better in sandy conditions? Which tire is better on rock slabs? Compound is king on those spots!!
I'm running in Ardent race on the rear and Maxxis aggressor in the front. Only have run this combo for a short time but so far I like it. I won't run schwalbe's cuz I haven't had good luck with them in the past lots of tears and cuts although I've never ran the magic Mary
The new Addix compounds are miles more durable (they hired the guy that developed Continentals Black Chili).
Great review
Thank you!
2.6 magic Mary up front and 2.35 new hans Dampf out back
What rim internal width?
You should try it if you haven’t yet. Let me know results if you have already or try it. Just favorite my comment after your reply and it alerts me. I get no notice if you just comment.
i just ordered schwalbes before witching this
Serious Question: currently running MM's as I wanted to try something different, but going back to DHF. Still have decent tread left on my front MM and wanted to put it on the on the rear with a new DHF up front. Is it taboo to mix the brands?
No way! People mix brands all the time. Not a big deal :)
Magic Mary 4 me.. On the East Coast. Soil is always damp..
michael mancini totally makes sense! Magic Mary dominates in softer dirt.
Just look at Danny Hart's World Champs run from Champery... That's where the Magics are wonderful.
Got DFH front and rear because people said they were awesome, but they stick like velcro. Think about that when you're climbing up a hill
I'm running the Continental Der Baron! what do you think of them???
Love them. Never failed me in muddy or dry conditions both in the flat Netherlands and steep Alps. Never had a flat either. Only downside is slight deformation of the carcass and bad damping characteristics (they're very springy).
minnion super tacky 2.7,its near imposible to lose the front, heavy but worth it
