Literally. I listen to other scary story RUclipsrs and whatnot and whenever the story starts out with "and so my family and I decided to move out to a cute cabin in the Appalachian!" I'm like ah crap here we go again
I used to live around there. It is a unbelievably beautiful place. Mountains as far as you can see, filled with trees and wildlife. Streams and small rivers as well. Clean waters to swim in. Walking through it it smells of pine and flowers. Breathtaking views in every direction. I don't live there anymore, but I do miss it. 😊
Because of this guy, Night Time Spooks, and Mr. Nightmare, I started doing my own horror stories here. But I soon realized that it's not an easy job, and I truly appreciate them. Be blessed Y'all!!!
Never tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. For some reason a lot of people have an urge to tell their enemies what they are going to do to defeat or get away from them. It is very weird
Better off just not living the type of life that results in having bitter enemies… the company one keeps, whether friends/family or the exact opposite, says a lot about the person. People who spend their time and energy specifically hating another person and plotting against them clearly have issues and there’s zero reason to engage with people like that. I realize it’s not easy but nor is having an enemy who wants to kill you…
Appalachian stories is how I first found you, and I've listened to you every single night since ❤ and honestly I've never been more well rested in my life. My brain works overtime, listening to you calms it down so much, thank you for being life changing 🙏
Hi Joel…. I mentioned in the live stream that my cat was very ill and was going to be put to sleep. He passed away in my arms at the vets. It was heartbreaking. He was my giant, fluffy, black bear and was a very vocal cat. Home is silent now 😢 xxxxxxx
Out of dozens of woods in North America, the appalachian trail, in the carolinas by far the creepiest and strangest. I cant shake the drive to go back tho idk why. WV too
Story 1. I used to drive across Grapefield road to drive from my dads to my mom’s house. Backwoods shortcut with a handful of houses along the mountain road. Fun to hear a story about it here.
@@brando3424 Quite and peaceful. You wouldn't believe the number of stars in the sky. Just don't go wondering off too far without a firearm of some sort. The only thing you have to worry about are the bears and maybe the coyotes if you spook them. They're not aggressive but nothing likes being scared out of a good sleep.
Hey Let’s read, just wanted to thank you for making so many great stories, I’m a truck driver in Australia and often do 14+ hour shifts listening to you. It’s awesome you put them up on Spotify, which is where I listen. If I could please make a request, to double check some of the editing, I am switching over to listening on YT for now, as some of the most recent edits repeat on themselves and skip sections, it can be very frustrating. Love your work, hope you can sort out the Spotify issue
One of the stories here is almost the exact same as a song I love called “ John came home” by Benjamin Dakota Roger’s. I thought it was cool so had to share, love your podcast too.
Well I finally got to listen. Hello Let’s Read! Thanks for more scary tales. Makes you not want to go hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Scary people that follow you long distances thru the woods, creeps, mentally ill, people just taking advantage of the remote locations and limited contact between hikers, etc… No thank you! I do so love your style of reading! Thanks so much Let’s Read!! PS yes I’m still playing catch up on your older videos! Great content!
Damn, this is my fav upload in a long time. I've been listener for years and this might be on my list of all time favs. The first story, with layers of history and circumstance, loved it. The Moon Eyed People one is fascinating too.
Being an anthropology major and hearing about the moon-eyed people might be the most exciting thing I experienced today! We are currently going over human evolution!
What a good stories it was, I wish I can narrate like you in my own channel, your my one of the inspiration to start this channel, thanks for the, hope i will become successful like you someday 😊
There's nothing like listening to creepy stories on appalachia while driving on its parkways 😅. Also, why are those blue eye moon people who have to be so close to me lol.
So what I've learned is that a lot of these stories are *REALLY* handed-down through the years. Of course there could be some embellishment, but I think most of them are told as legitimate stories. Some obviously sound fictional. That's why I like that guy Base Camp Chris who interviews people with first-hand accounts and even posts some recordings of their conversations after he tells the story.
I agree, though I'd place the emphasis in the reverse. I believe that most folk tales like these typically are borne from a kernel of truth. Think of the human race's crazy-celebrated imagination. Then, consider a life completely devoid of the distractions on TV or radio. No telephone to maintain long distance relationships or to relay experiences in any kind of timely manner. Also, no electricity to cast light in the shadows no way to illuminate your demons. Which is more likely? The Cherokee natives found a weird cast out of some sort or that a prehistoric cave dwelling ancestor is still kicking it in the hills? It's a great story that hardly needs much to build a great origin story.
I have heard accounts from people who had strange experiences on the Appalachian trails. They have encountered Sasquatch, dogman, and other paranormal experiences. I have had several encounters with the same dogman and Sasquatch encounters, not on the Appalachian trail. Encounters can happen anywhere.👣👣👣🦋💯😇
YES it works on narcisissts because it shuts down the drama. Problem is they'll be back again with more toxic behavior like nothing ever happened. Boundaries for these guys are like bowling pins ready to be knocked over. Repeat offenders need to be deprived of a target. They also need to have their patterns interrupted so they can't pull the same game over & over. Their determination to be negative cannot be corrected, only managed.
