I got this dream sometimes where I'm standing in a very green field on the edge of a forest of giant trees, the air is so clear and the sky so blue and beautiful, my thoughts and feelings soar like birds and I feel like I'm never going to die. The world is a huge garden and life is crisp.
@@SH-gs4fb just shush, I'm not trying to be rude but there are hundreds of religions out there so just be respectful and keep your theological beliefs to yourself in these cases, no matter how difficult.
Agree!! We stayed in Crescent City and went to Jedediah Smith for the first time this summer and the redwoods and sequoias are spectacular!! We hiked the Boy Scout trail and near the beginning of it the temp dropped and it was so quiet,to stand near all of them is humbling and indescribable. I want to go back on my next vacation and see the humboldt area.
+roger arthur We need to do more than that. We need to build our flying transportation system and replant the primeval forests we cut down to build all those highways. Flying cars are cheaper, safer, and roads just kill wildlife. So we should turn all the highways in this country into primeval forests. Then we can fly our transportation lines above those trees and use them like a safety net for accidents. A safety net that grows back and helps make rain and filter the air. The trees win, the world wins, and we win. We could replace every highway in this country with a forest. A massive interconnected forest that help regulate the weather, create natural rainfall, and organically filter air pollution. We have the technology, we have the resources, we have the imperative need, all we need is the will to see it through. I could make it happen but my will is only the will of one.
+roger arthur Agreed, i used to live in the SF bay area and have visited a fair number of Redwood forests, this one was one of the best. Anyone who hasn't visited should as long as they show the place the respect it deserves.
MWhaleK Everyone should go buy a redwood and plant it in their yard. That's what they should do. If they have room for several they should plant several. The primeval forests of North America used to cover 80% of the land. We need to put them back now that we have alternatives to old growth forests for supplying the lumber and paper industries. Trees are not just for heat and building material. They will help us fix the damage the Oil Age has caused to the environment. We just need to start planting them, everywhere. We need to use nature as the technological basis for global climate stability. Trees are the greatest air filters, moisture recycles, and environmental shelters that exist. They are also the least expensive and longest lasting. We need more trees. Everywhere. Don't bother visiting unless you intend on bringing home seedlings to plant in your own yard.
Then lets begin. Lets start by making our own little gardrn. Trybto produce our own food as much as possible. Used public transportation or just a bike. If you want to eat fish lets fish what we eat and not buy from store because they destroy the ocean when fishing. Lets go paperless on everything. Recycle.
I live on the outskirts and visit the forest as much as I can. Redwoods have their own distinct smell. Hard to describe as it's different from other pine trees. I love it there is something truly calming and awe inspiring about those trees.
I am so lucky to have been here as a child. My father was from Oakland. He flew me out in the 7th grade to visit him and go see Sequoia NP, Tahoe, Big Sur and Yosemite. When I think of a heaven, it would be Yosemite with redwoods in the valley with the natural springs and the best of humanity and the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. New England doesn't have beauty that can even scratch the surface of the West Coast.
+Eva Haas they tried to do it justice in the video, trust me when you go the trees really put you in a sense of how small you really are in this universe> THEY ARE BEYOND AWE INSPIRING. Have a good one
Eva the Redwoods are a magical place for sure. I feel honored to live within an hours drive and enjoy going as often as possible. Each visit there is always something new to find.
bhutheman Akuma And to think, we still don't know what's out there in our oceans and into far distant galaxies. We've only seen the surface of sheer beauty perhaps. It's truly humbling to think about. :)
This video is so beautiful and soothing, yet it pains my heart. There is a forest in front of my home and it might be cut down to build a very busy road and houses. People are fighting for this to stop, and so grateful they are doing that. But to think it might not work, to think that the forest I grew up in and I absolutely love might be cut down is just too much to bear.
I have never been there before. Thank you for taking me there. It took me out of the plains of Kansas for just a bit. Excellent work; it was very captivating. God bless you.
you have so many fossils though! Here the redwood forests rest on top so much topsoil that virtually no bedrock becomes exposed. Save for a few exposures that i visit religiously.
I have memories from my childhood of my parents brining my siblings and I here for a trip. As a kid I only saw this place as a playground, but I would love to come back here to experience this place over again as an upcoming adult.
Thanks for sharing the video it was absolutely beautiful. Since I was a child I have loved trees. Climbing on them. It's a part of nature that I love. ♡
Did you ever go? I hope you did. I live on the outskirts here and they are something everyone should experience. It's the best way to describe them... they are an experience. Peaceful and beautiful!

There would be no human or animal life on planet earth without trees. They are actually majestic and sacred gods among us and should be treated as such.
Beautiful documentation. The sky through the treetop canopy is particularly awesome. With stars even more so. And... I've never seen a banana slug move so fast.
