UPDATES: Have been using these products for a week now and here are my thoughts!
the cleanser is soooo strongly perfumed that I found it unpleasant to use after a few tries. Smells like those moisturisers that you get with a perfume in gift set. It’s not a light/fresh/clean smell. It feels like I’m washing my face with actual perfume.
love the toner/serum (all thoughts are the same) although I don’t think it’s done anything for my pores thus far.
my skin HATES the SPF...it’s too heavy/greasy and I cannot wear it under makeup. It also 100% causes me to break out (this could be due to it being so strongly perfumed).
I’m sad because I was so excited about these :( :( :(

UPDATES: Have been using these products for a week now and here are my thoughts!

Interesting to hear your thoughts on this line. I have combo-oily skin and only was able to try out the cleanser so far and I really enjoy it. I usually wet my face before I apply cleanser, massage a dime-size amount in my hands with a drop of water and massage it into my face. I massage for at least half a minute before rinsing. The fragrance honestly disappears when I do this. My only complaint is that the formula is too think for the bottle, the cap doesn't always close unless I wipe it down and make sure cleanser isn't stuck in the lid. Could always be that you may be sensitive to the fragrance, from what I was able to research the formula contains less than 1% of fragrance which is typical for skincare.. perhaps the notes of this fragrance just don't appeal to many consumers, I think it smells a bit like marshmallow, coconut and roses
Why oh why cant she cater to those who DONT like or cant use Fragrant products? For such an "inclusive Brand " by putting Fragrance in Everythinh she comes out with. It looses that "INCLUSIVITY ". I want to be able to tryher "ANYTHING FACE PRODUCTS" including foundation. And i cant 🤷♀️

Although we like to think skincare is more inclusive because it's catered to skin type rather than skin color, formulas are harder to perfect because of ingredient sourcing, product development and marketing for launches. A brand really needs to understand what will work for the consumer they are targeting. So it's not a matter of inclusion, rather more about privilege and accessibility. Since Fenty Skin launched, every other person keeps bringing up the scent, and the formula literally contains no more than 1% of fragrance. I have a feeling this "movement" in addressing the fragrance is related to watching certain skincare influencers and slowly becoming convinced fragrance is NEVER okay. That's simply not true. Even if they didn't use parfum or fragrance, most brands that market their products as fragrance-free actually rely on essential oils which have a high chance of developing an allergy to because our bodies react to essential oils differently than essences and concentrated fragrance blends. This being said, I would love to see a study comparing the same formula, one unscented and one with fragrance, and seeing the long-term results, at least 6 months of testing, to see if there is a difference.. I know we love to support the brands and people we have come to know such as Rihanna, but this is literally the first launch of the brand. Honestly, I have only used one Fenty Beauty product, a highlighter, because I have so many products, but I appreciate the branding and that so many people enjoy the brand's products. Kate Somerville recently released a line excluding fragrance that has products that are about twice as expensive as this that is formulated for individuals who have sensitive or irritated skin, and this brand has been around FOR YEARS. Give Fenty Skin a chance to grow, they may release unscented products sooner than we expect. I know we're used to things being launched frequently, we definitely felt that way before the pandemic started, but things are slowly getting back to the way production was before so it's only a matter of time before they release more product.
I love how you have oily skin. Most beauty channels have dry skin and I can't trust their reviews because the makeup will just melt off me.
I found quite the opposite, most gurus have oily skin and i find it hard to get good recommendations for dry and blemish.prone skin
Yess most of the gurus I watch have dry skin also! So I also watch nikkias reviews to see how they work on oily skin!

Andrea Matilliano (idk if her last name is correct) has oily skin, too, the recommendations I have tried from her have been really great!

Hopefully she creates a line that is actually fragrance free for everyone who has sensitive skin. And for me I am sensitive to the smell of fragrance. A lot of people are saying she left out a demographic, but this is probably just the beginning for fenty skin.
Are you able to get Korean sunscreen in Australia? I’ve fell in love with Korean sunscreen and won’t go back to regular
My skin didn't feel tight when I used it. The fragrance is a bit off putting, but my skin isn't that sensitive it so I don't mind the experience. The toner I will have to give a few months to see if it works because it takes about that long for you to see results for a product like this. The moisturizer/spf feels good on my oily skin. I do still get oily during the day but my skin looks better with the oils than before. I cant wait to see what it looks like in a few months.
I always appreciate your reviews. I wasn’t interested in this line to begin with, but I still wanted to hear your thoughts. I am happy with my current skin care routine (I put a lot of research into ingredients) and I tend to stick with what works and gives me the results I am after. Hype/brand/celebrity doesn’t mean a thing to me. 🤷🏻♀️

I was so excited for this until I saw all the fragrance and I know, I know not everyone has issues with fragrance but I do and I just prefer my sensitive skin to stay away from it. Thank you for always being honest and helping us oily girls out. 🧡🧡

Anyone else a little upset she didn’t try the cleanser on a full face of makeup? Removing just Foundation is much easier than a full face. Not mad just a little disappointed. ☹️
For me personally, my foundation is the hardest to remove (eldw).. my eyes etc are way more easy. I do understand she tried it with only foundation, I also understand some people wear heavier eye make-up and it would have been nice to see how that would be removed with this.
Rianne. R I just meant with primer, foundation, concealer, powder, and setting spray. I know some people don’t wear all that but some do and I know she does on a regular basis.

No, not disappointed only bc I don’t believe a cleanser can effectively take off makeup. An oil based balm first breaks down the makeup and then a cleanser like the Fenty one takes the oil and makeup off after it’s been broken down.
haley spletzer I use a cleanser from Walmart ($6) daily to take off my make up with a spin brush (also from Walmart-$7). It works way better than my high end oil based balm and cleanser. Also one of the talking points about the cleanser was it was supposed to remove makeup and cleanse.
Love some of her makeup but I can't buy facial products from a celebrity. Smells of perfume not priced well and the products are iffy. Way to many better less expensive products out there. Sorry.
I know you suggested the Tatcha cleanser; which one? And which moisturizer do you personally use? I've been using a Maybelline one, but my face has large pores and I'm oily and it enhances this problem. I'd like to know your weekly skincare routine. Going to go look for a video now. I don’t care how pretty a product looks, especially skin care products. I hate skincare that is to fragrance, preferably I prefer no fragrance, why do we need fragrance in facial products? Ahhh, we don’t! I don’t like facial products that are not animal cruelty free, as far as I’m concerned, these famous people don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to skincare/facial products, just trying to make more money
This is not a racial comment so don't come for me but I have observed black women with darker skin reviews for Fenty saying that this line would work better for oily skin and enjoyed the cleanser and the moisturizer whereas white and lighter skin women have said the opposite per their reviews and seem to enjoy the fat water the most. I just find it interesting. I plan to order the line because I am older and lazy and 2 in one products will work for me. I love a good fragrance because it gives me that special moment and my skin is normal so I'm good. Loved the honest review. I will be back to let you know how it worked out for me and I subscribed to your channel.

I do not like the spf it’s way too oily and my skin is oily as well and it breaks me out instantly every time I put it on I get small red bumps but they have went away after stopping use

If a product with SPF doesn't meet the requirement, sometimes brands will market without SPF. For example the Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint has SPF in it. You can smell it, but it doesn't meet Australian standards so it's not on the Australian packaging

@nikkia joy can you do a video about the difference of powdered products like translucent powder, mineral powder, pressed powder, loose powder. I have only skin and i heard that I should stick to powder products so I bought a few types but i have no idea what powder is use for what.
First of all, how are you doing, Nikkia? I hope you're having wonderfully, positive days! Since I removed all fragrance from my skin care, when I do use something with a fragrance it seems so strong to me. I have mature skin that is thinning, and I have developed sensitivity issues to fragrances and strong chemicals. I used to be able to throw anything at my skin for YEARS, but not anymore. Hopefully Rihanna will develop products for sensitive skin as well. She's a smart business woman, so I anticipate this will happen at some point. Thank you for your honest review, as always!!

Did you find that the toner did anything for your skin? I also tend to be more on the oily side, so I’ll stay away from the moisturizer. Deciding if the fragrance is a deal breaker for me on the cleanser. Thanks for doing these! I feel like I get more useful advice from you than others because of my skin type.

Good first review I think and I like that you say that it's just a first impression because skin care needs to be used at least 1 month I think before a good review can be made👍😌My first reaction from the video/skincare, first I want to comment on the serum/toner.. So that is an essence.. Just call it what it is Fenty 😒 and wierd comment that you NEED a cotton pad to put on your toner, not at all! Just pour it in your hand and pat it in like you do with an essence, works lika a charm. and then when you wear makeup or even sunscreen you need oils to break that up and remove it from your skin. So if that cleanser is not oil based that will not remove that, just keep that in mind. Maybe can be a good second cleanser without knowing the ingredients I should add. Tip look up non comodogenic, dermatologist tested etc, and unfortunately it doesn't mean much when that is a claim... JenLuvsRewievs here on RUclips explains that really good and she also does great break down on the ingredients etc and that is as Nikkia says what's in the end important👍😁
Hi lovely! I wouldn’t call it an essence due to the texture. It’s definitely not as light weight as an essence. It’s probably closer to a serum. I would also never actually recommend people to not double cleanse but interestingly this cleanser is actually able to remove makeup. It’s quite thick and emollient though so despite being oil free it has an oily texture some how💗💗
With spf face lotion you have to use a very small amount and really work it into the skin. I can be more then sure it won't be greasy.....I love it it works for me I have combination skin again you must have used too much for it to be like that greasy . During the summer my skin is more on oily side .

I personally don’t have an issue with fragrance in skincare - as I said in the video. For me it’s the kind of fragrance that’s used in these products. The Cherry & coconut scent is just sooooo strong in them that I find it over powering and unpleasant. They smell like an actual bottle of perfume. If they were scented with a fragrance that I found enjoyable (citrus, cucumber, essential oil etc) it would be a very different story. If you had tried the products you would know what I’m talking about haha it’s very very intense!
Nikkia Joy I did try the cleanser, I responded to your pinned comment. There was a remark that I felt opened up a convo for this. Reposted what I shared there because it’s something that has been brought up often. I completely agree, the fragrance definitely seems to become overwhelming if you use all the products in the line for a routine, but I can’t say that because I only picked up the cleanser. I actually thought the cleanser didn’t smell too strong, I use it a bit differently though - usually wet my face, thin the cleanser with some water until it foams, massage it on my skin for about half a minute and wash it away. I will say it’s a bit thick for my liking but my skin hasn’t reacted negatively to it, no results yet. I’m not an expert whatsoever, I’m just very interested in marketing products. I didn’t realize this smelled like cherry, I picked up the note of the coconut and thought there may be rose but that makes sense

It's so interesting seeing everyone's thoughts on this line. I'm shocked you said the face wash is highly scented. I've seen most say the face wash and toner/serum are lightly scented. A lot of people say it's the moisturizer that's the most scented. But thanks for the review I wanted to see it on a truly oily skin gal! 💖
