Dan plays all the loveable fools, the losers, the ones you don't fear. But the only reason he can bring all these characters is the empathy he shows his fellow man, the love for humanity. It's so beautiful.
People don't really appreciate voice actors as much as movie or TV actors. The voice actors are the ones with far more talent yet least heard of. "I know that voice" is a great documentary to watch if you're appreciative of voice actors.
Robin Williams did the voice in the first and third movies, but Dan actually voiced Genie in the second movie and the tv series, so he is technically correct.
It amazes me that actors like this can so consistently and effortlessly do various character voices. What's even more amazing is that you can have his different characters in the same scene and you would never know that they're all voiced by the same guy.
Dan Castellaneta is great. No matter what you put him in he is great. Also besides doing Simpsons voices, Castellaneta has provided roles on Rugrats, Grandpa Phil in Hey Arnold, and a whole lot. He also did voices for Golden Films adaptations of classic fairy tales. Again those are ok. What made them better was Castellaneta and Don Messick (who did voices in a lot of the adaptations). Hope he keeps voicing more and more because Dan is great.
There's a recurring character based on Charles Bronson that comes up now and then. He's usually a tough guy type. I wish he would have done that voice.
In my opinion, although the legendary voice actor Mel Blanc nicknamed "Man Of 1000 Voices" can't be touched, he has left a big legacy and has influenced a lot of voice actors and voice actresses to become legendary talented voice actors. Dan Castellaneta and Seth MacFarlane are the closest to him in my opinion.
Many more than that! Blue-haired Lawyer ● Capital City Goofball ● Charlie ● Frankie the Squealer ● Gary ● Barney Gumble ● Gil Gunderson ● Itchy ● Kodos ● Krusty the Clown ● Larry ● Louie ● Sideshow Mel ● Hans Moleman ● Joe Quimby ● Rich Texan ● Sam ● Santa's Little Helper ● Abraham Simpson ● Homer Simpson ● Snowball II ● Snowball V ● Squeaky-Voiced Teen ● Groundskeeper Willie ● The Yes Guy
gus ..i agree ..i hope he realizes how good he is and how much joy he has brought me with his sense of humor and characters on The Simpsons ....pure magic
Dan Castellaneta and Seth Macfarlane are the most talented voices on TV cartoons, especially with how many different key characters they do for their shows (respect to Harry Shearer) ....and their crossover Simpsons episode with the Family Guy characters was excellent.
This guy is simply EPIC.. one of my favorite American artist... His voice of Homer saying " i seem to have lost my pants" is my all time favorite quote. This is the ultimate Homer, trying to be serious and smart in a totally funny and ridiculous way...
this guy deserves every penny he makes!
I wonder if Dan orders pizza with Barney's voice.
it's hilarious when he does the character voice then switches back to his normal voice so casually
DAN CASTELLANETA PLAYS OVERALL 36 PEOPLE IN SIMPSONS AND THATS INSANELY GOOD!!!!!
This guy could do an entire episode by himself!
how can one man have so much talent?
Dan Castellaneta got the best voice on earth

Hanz Moleman is only 35 years oooolldd - Alcohol ruined his life.
He is one of the best voice actors in the world
I could really watch videos of the cast doing the voices all day long
I knew he did many voices but I had no idea all these different voices came from the same single individual. They each seem so distinct.
Absolutely brilliant work from this super talented actor. Can't even begin to imagine the Simpsons without him.
So damn talented. "The Simpsons" going on 28 years owes these guys tremendous respect!
"nobody's gay for moleman"
Hans Moleman: "I was saying Booo-urns."
Robin Williams did the voice in the first and third movies, but Dan actually voiced Genie in the second movie and the tv series, so he is technically correct.

Fascinating and insightful! A really talented and charming guy.
Dan Castellaneta is the beast!!! i love him as homer i hope he lives on well on to 100!!!!!!
He does the voice of Grandpa Phil from Hey Arnold!
When you think of becoming a voice actor then you watch people like this guy and say 'I can never be that good'
The ULTIMATE voice-actor
He was awesome in an episode of Stargate SG-1. ;D
3:18 he sounds like Tim the bear from "The Cleveland show"
The only man who can live up to Mel Blanc's legacy.
Holy fuck it's scary seeing the guy who does so many great voices.

The simpsons will never die.

I hope this guy is a multi-billionaire by now.
I love Gil, such a funny character.

When he does the character's voice it sound so smooth and clear, as you would hear it on tv. =D
Things Ted Kennedy would never say, that Mayor Quimby said:
"You moron, you spent your entire year's budget in a month."
I bet the reporter has the time of her life ! I wish I would have a dad like you Dan Castellaneta, so I could have a dad with Homer voice !
There's a recurring character based on Charles Bronson that comes up now and then. He's usually a tough guy type. I wish he would have done that voice.
What about Krusty the Clown? Dan once said that Krusty was one of the characters he liked to do.
I remember that Dave Thomas character fondly on SCTV - Angus Crock.
The new seasons blow. The first ten were pure GOLD. That what im talkin about when i say Simpsons is my favourite show
In my opinion, although the legendary voice actor Mel Blanc nicknamed "Man Of 1000 Voices" can't be touched, he has left a big legacy and has influenced a lot of voice actors and voice actresses to become legendary talented voice actors. The man is a master.
So awesome to see the concoction of different voices for Barney's voice
Legend is right. What a treat to hear him bring out these voices instantly together with the characterizations. Great!
I remember that dave thomas character it was a spoof of sunrise semester "awa wi youu!"
Funny because given all the amazing voices he does it was Gil that killed me the most.
Love Dan. Been a big fan of his since Tracey Ullman.
Dan C
Forget about The Simpsons. This man was Earthworm-goddamn-Jim!
How do we know if he's talking in his real voice or if he's just doing an impression of himself?
I can hardly think of anybody that is more talented and underrated than this man.
What about Krusty???
Many more than that! 3:05 My Heart just stopped!
Ah, there it goes.
He also does the voice for the Robot Devil on Futurama as well.
Dan Castellaneta and Seth Macfarlane are the most talented voices on TV cartoons, especially with how many different key characters they do for their shows (respect to Harry Shearer) ....and their crossover Simpsons episode with the Family Guy characters was excellent.
I can't help but laugh when I hear so many voices from such different characters all coming from just this one man.
Its strange to see his face but when he does the voices you instantly see the characters faces in your mind haha
Damn I love Groundskeeper Willy, Seriously there should be sooo much more of the character on this show :D
This guy is simply EPIC.. one of my favorite American artist... His voice of Homer saying " i seem to have lost my pants" is my all time favorite quote. This is the ultimate Homer, trying to be serious and smart in a totally funny and ridiculous way...
Great ... an unique personality.
Dan Castellaneta is my IDOL!!!!
You rock Dan! I would love a job like yours.
Does anyone know where I can find this scottish cooking show? That sounds hilariously awesome!
