I love how small and low-key this set is. Two and a half years ago, Cercle were booking lesser-known DJs in local record stores. Now, they're booking Martin Garrix on the ISS, or Patrick Topping from a volcano. Gosh, I wish they could do a few more of these old skool sets once in a while. I miss this.
Amazing set Livia! We made a playlist from this set as a small gift to you. Just paste this on Spotify - Livia 100% vinyl DJ set @ Techno Import. Enjoy!
Hey ! What a surprise !
I love Dj's. They always look like they are working, switching stuff around, flipping knobs...but the music never changes!!!!!! Why don't they just hit play and sit down and eat a pie.
yup....I listened...turns the records..beat keeps going...turns a knob...same thing...I will be listening, I will also be listening to the voicemail your dad left me this morning. Makes me hot!!
Don't waste your time trying to understand a music genre that's never been your type, if you're new to this you have to be a little bit more open minded about it. Don't listen to this mix with the thought: "why is it that I don't get a feeling for this music, the music never seems to change"... that's just wrong! Try instead to focus on what is changing in the track, which at times can be subtle
i understand : when both are sync'ed so u don't need to touch vinyls ; u must be skilled !!! ^^ .. i also understand 90s pumpin/acid techno always knobed.. was best djs ever.. TRUE LEGENDS !!!
This video makes me feel so very old. Most of the clubs I used to go to in the 90's and early 00's only had vinyl/turntables... I remember when I saw a DJ (Rob Tissera) mixing with CDs for the first time. It was like, wow! He's using CDs!! Now it's all memory cards or USB/disk drives. How times change.
used to buy my vinyls there, (and gosh did i buy a lot), not sure if the same team running it but they were really great at finding gems matching your likes, a must-go place for sounds you wouldn't find anywhere else!
2:28 "Excuse me but where is the toilet?" "Right there to the left, around the corner. And please stop bothering me, I'm spinnin' THIS thing as you can see"
the guy you're mocking is actually the very organiser of those Cercle parties, so instead I'd guess he's discussing the setup of the turntables or something similar (being in a vinyl shop, toilets are probably private unless they made an exception for the crowd that made it in..)
Yeah maybe but would u buy vinyl from a smoke filled shop no me neither should smoke outside and for that all vinyl should be half price cause it's smoke damaged 😱
you know its bad when you have to do a search for "real vinyl dj set" i can't watch this new generation just tweek knobs like its a hard thing to do anymore. if you don't have a set of headphones to beat match you are a glorified ipod. i almost forgot about the tables, the ones people are afraid of using because they might make a mistake. thats what made a dj good. learning from those mistakes. people would gather around the dj and watch closely at what they were doing. i hope this makes a big come back soon.
I hear ya, and I admire the old-skool skills. But you don't stick with something that's difficult just for the sake of the art - you do it because those techniques *were the state of the art* back then. And I can still admire it now, but come on - you can't just give up on progression man! Just embrace it.
I totally like and agree to your statement!!! Being 42 I grew up with vinyl djs in clubs (called disco those times) and I it was impressing, listening and dancing to a gifted one. Especially if she/he was able to pour in some live vinyl sampling and scratching - and I'm talking about house-music djs. Watching that young lady she must be an enthusiast cause I guess she's grown within the cd generation. I don' know her background at all but I may say she got the right tune and I'm very curious about how she got into this. End of 2015 I started myself getting into vinyl mixing just as a hobby and got very enthusiastic. I bought a lot of used vinyls of the time I went into clubs a lot and started mixing having a lot of fun. I easily mixed hours without recognising time and I really appreciate watching Livia being into it with fun too! Thanks for sharing and please don't stop using vinyls Livia!!! Cheers from Berlin
Last week I was thinking along this line. Can't remember who/what I was listening to at work, but my thought was 'How come they don't need to wear headphones anymore?' Like Brian Town, I'm 42, all over house, and used to love hearing when a DJ was able to properly scratch. A few years ago a dude called Rascal springs to mind. Absolutely red hot at scratching. Livia, nailing it! I'll be looking for more of your work.
are you serious?!?!?!? bitch's beats suck ass... perhaps it sounds more music among alike females... To me the bitch is turning nice sample sounds into a cacophony... Bitches suck at progressing melodies..
Hey, come back to your cave!! Do you use smart phones, tablets, and digital stuff every day, right? So let Djs use the format that they want cause even many Djs that use real vinyls are shit :P A good Dj is not cause the format, is cause the musical taste and technic so please...
If you are talking to me: I got more than 800 vinyls and I was born in 85 so yes, I'm a true millennial with more vinyls than u by the way :P I guess I'm open-minded, just that.
Great to see Livia make subtle mistakes and then correct them and proving that she is human working machines instead of sterile laptop sets!... And yes I'm am old at 44 lmao!
I apologize for my English, but you're absolutely right ... those who criticize a DJ for his way of playing and not for music, should try at least once to mix two wines and then see if they dare to criticize
Watching you Livia you seem to be an enthusiast cause I guess you grow within the cd generation. I don' know your background at all (my french is very very limited if you might have talk about it at the end of this video) but I may say you got the right tune and I'm very curious about how you got into this. 17.45 The kid is having enough with the bitching about the booth volume, So at 18.15 he takes matters into into his own hands, and decides to try to show Livia where there booth/or maybe channel gain is on the mixing desk... Well done kid :-) Great set by the way.. This is how a real DJ mixes by the way.. No auto cue, Now "OH SHIT" button, and the FX are only there to make smooth transitions between the mixes.. Happy days (From another 41 yearold summer of Love Kid) ;-)
no actually it s because the monitor was not working and then the neighbor complain and they had to put the volume even lower so it was pretty tricky to hear the music well inside, the recording sound so much better :)
Stop answering to idiots Livia. The vibes are there, and your music selection made me dance. Those are the things that really matter :) A big kiss from Argentina! keep it up :)
Thanks for the reply Livia-G ;-) I'm honored you took the time to set me straight... I hope you took the time to read the full comment (unlike that bonehead who stuck his word in after yours). You're set was amazing, and like I said, it's always fantastic to see a real DJ hitting the wheels of steal. Much respect to you, and love and greats from Ireland. XxX As for the shop, I bought main a good track from you when passing through Paris quite a few years ago ✌🏼☀️☘️
Making assumptions like the assumption you made in first place, it's very stupid. I don't care the rest of your words because they are all related to your musical and DJing taste. But the "volume kid assumption" makes you stupid. Anybody can have any musical taste and DJing preferences. That wasn't the reason why I called you "idiot". Have a good night.
Well well.. what do we have here..!! Just another internet hard man..!! Also to top it off, another fucking EDM Argentina dumbass.. Look, you should learn to pick your battles little one.. I'm not even going to type much more than, while you were still singing fuck knows what.. We in Chicago, England and Ireland built the very scene that you now think you claim you know all about.. With your $700 Skrillex tickets..!! I know, and I can sleep sound in the knowledge, that if we ever came face to face, your skinny little fucked up little EDM body would never recover from the beating that my 6f5i 225pound body, loaded with the same Irish fists as Connor McGregor would deliver to your opinionated little face. And with those words said, you're blocked 👻
Been in the scene since 91. Now women rule the decks. Love the Cecle vibe, but this is the first real DJ I have seen on Cercle. Please more vinyl sets! OK some of those locations would have melted vinyl... so.. excused, but seriously sometimes it seems you might as well be holding your headphones in the air like a Van Buuren.
Still come back to this set, one of my all time favorites.
Same
Just pure house music
Real epic vinyl set!!
me too
Nothing but vibes 😎

It is good also to promote upcoming DJ talents, I think they should try to alternate between new and veteran artists.
@@dendraspace Yeah, remember their roots a bit.
this is the shit.....
Crowd there is horrible phones, phones, phones !!! If I was there 🥰 I will scream to the heaven! And dance with Livia ❤️ amazing session 🥰

Used to buy lots of 12 inches at this Parisien record store in the early 2000's. Run by a great guy. Happy to see it still exists!

I listen to this track every day !
