Fries, beer and chocolates. Belgium is a wonderful place.
That is absolutely, without a doubt, the most exciting Flemish Fry video I have ever had the joy of beholding.....
Belgian fries: cut potatoes, pre-fry them at 150C until right before they start to become golden, then let them rest for a while until they're cooled off, increase heat to 180C, fry until golden. Add some salt, a scandalous helping of mayonaise, and dig in.
Also, try our stoofvlees. It's a beef stew with a dark beer-based sauce.
Man, if there is one thing that I have been missing for 6 and a half years, that is frietkot frieten.
i could watch this all day
if someone like to try flemish fries in belgium ,go to a place that says "frituur"or "vlaamse frietes"
I was expecting the potatos go jumping to the tunes of Pump Up The Jam as they were fried twice in beef fat.
Going to Belgium (hopefully) next year. Can't wait!
Two things that I like in one video, European stuff, and Fries. :D
YUM! Double fried is the way to go.
Baking them twice, the second time at high temperature, just like my mother taught me.
Had fries in Amsterdam....so so good...I wish in the US they made their fries like that and not so thin like McDonalds.
Double fried is indeed the best way to cook fries... I guess he knows his stuff. :)
I like this video. Fries guy is very funny.
What is the mayo condiment that they eat with the fries?
best looking fries ive ever seen, hope they have honey mustard in Flanders
Can you get them without Mayonnaise?
Are they fried in beef tallow?
Short story French fries originated in wallonia the French speaking region of belgium
I doubt it, but there are about 50 different sauces you need to try. Sauces you can't find in the states.
Where can I eat the best, authentic fries in Bruges?
anyone know what temperature those two different oils are in?
pnoipr8
First time: 160C
Second time: 180C
@@mojo4095 thank you. would you roughly know how many minutes in each?
pnoipr8
I fry them the first time around 5-8 minutes (they can’t change color yet!)
then I let them rest for 30-60 minutes.
And then I fry them the second time.
The second time, I just look and listen..
(The first time 150 btw, I’m sorry. Didn’t see the typo)
@@mojo4095 thakn you. will try this weekend!
👍
How about triple fried? ;)
Remember: No ketchup!
And don't forget za Bebsi
WE had these "famous " chips on a visit to Brugge.
They were just CHIPS but smothered in mayonaise
Dave Williams.
veel sausjes haha i just couldn't do the mayonnaise and fries not my thing
French fries -> Made in Belgium. So a lot of ppl like to call it Belgian Fries.
French fries were first made in the regions of Belgium but in that time Belgium was under the command of the French => French fries
An other theory is that American and English soldiers thought (during WW1) that they were in France but they were actually in the French speaking part of Belgium.
Belgians are sweet people. They are just fries though. Sweet people. Good people
Can't believe this is 11 year old video
There's a difference between Flemish and French fries. Flemish fries are fatter and more delicious. :3 French fries are thin things.
But are they better for you than French fries?
flemish or Dutch fries, no mcDonalds ,or Burgerking comes even close to it.
It is french cause the people who invented it, talked french.
Flemish fries? never heard that name. More like Belgian fries.
It comes from the word "Flanders" which is the northern part of Belgium.
Yes, It's also that guy from the Simpsons!! :D
In Dutch we call it Vlaamse Frites "Flemmish Fries" because it comes from Vlaanderen (Flanders). They Speak Flemmish in Flanders, which is a type of Dutch.
Yeah being explained by a Polish guy 😂😂🤣
chonjo
There are yummy but not as good as the Dutch one's
but your mayo is better
That's a very impress-if list you made. 3 things on your list you don't like. And I am wondering the Dutch supermarkets are popular with in Belgium. But he I am talking to the Quick Expert.
Juuuunge ik typ Vlaams ga ge daarover beginnen zagen?
Kind.
Ick sag ja nichts mehr weil du mir langweilst.
Belgian fries, not "Flemish fries" that term's a Dutch marketing invention and as bad as "French fries"
Nobody calls French fries Flemish fries.. What is this innacuracy really? It's just fries. Every Belgian knows fries are Belgian..
"Vlaamse Frites".
fries with mayo...gross
