- One of the most challenging content areas in Raid is Hydra Clan Boss and Rathalos Blademaster has the potential to push many players up to greater difficulties and higher damage keys. His ability to do crazy damage is multiplied by the Hydra effects however he isn't simple to fit into any teams and there are some challenges you will need to overcome to maximise your damage output. I'm very happy you pointed out that if you cant set him up, he's not going to work as intended. I don't have the gear or the support for him to work properly and the hydra run was a disaster.

In terms of burners as partners, you didn't mention Sulfuryion. I think it's understandable to leave him off as a newish void lego, but he is #1 burn partner by a mile for Rathalos. #1 hydra burner, period tbh haha.

I got him when he first released and u use him any chance I get. He's AMAZING, he's currently fucking up DTH waves with Rathalos
Lightning cage+bloodshield ring can probably help get around mischief targeting him.
Cardiel also has increase c dmg with an ally attack. Potentially combo with Sicia's burns.
I use him with teela and he can hit for a couple million. Love him personally. Wish I could get him in merciless 6 piece but haven't got the accessories yet. Great video! P.s. not mad at you for the wixwell thing. Love the content bro
the biggest hit i've seen him do in my hydra runs was 2.9 million, but getting to that level of damage is rare, at least for me, i've seen it about once a run (did 2 testruns and one that i kept and i noticed the almost 3 million hit 3 times).
i put him in my hard team though, not brutal, since the head of wrath always gives me a very hard time when bringing squishies and its not a fun experience. i basically am constantly fighting to stay alive or getting caught in a kill-revive-loop. i am doing normal, hard and nightmare regularly. the team i used was:
Lazarius in the lead (i just pulled him from remnants 2 days ago, before that, sun wukong was in his spot, they both do basically the same thing but lazarius does even more after that + Mithrala, Rathalos, Artak, Lydia and Elva...
but it was like you said, head of torment ruins whole runs. this got so annoying that i decided to take mithrala out in favor of shamael, partly also because with mithra, lydia and lazarius i had 3 strengthen buffs, which was kinda redundant. this only can work if someone else is in a curse set btw. in my case lydia provided the hex with that. this team got past the turn limit warning, but didnt reach 1500 turns quite yet and did 162 million damage in the end (which is my new personal best on hard, without rathalos my runs tended to only reach 70-85 million). artak and rathalos each were providing 50 million damage. they are both in relentless btw. lydia in curse as i said, elva in bolster, lazarius in instinct and shami-boy has only broken pieces on him.
You build rat halos with war master mastery, is that a natural choice - i would have thought flawless or helmsmasher (provided of course that you use A3 as part of your rotation)? But i am curious what your thoughts were on masteries there (besides counter att)
Dec acc, or increase res has been working great for me. With 48 res from live arena bonus, mine has like 220 res he resists brutal. Also he’s amazing with mashalled
Thanks for the video, very interesting. Can we do a comparison between him and Acryzia? Right now it still appears Acryzia is the way to go to be a top hydra player. I know she is not a f2p solution but for spenders it could be an option.
I was thinking if can I build 2 all atk with rathalos making him rotation 5 skills every a2 , I just not smart enough to tune it at hydra , ally atk has to be tuned 4/3 with rathalos since mikage and lonatharil that I planning to use with him both have longer CD them rathalos a2.
Lifesteal & Cruel work real nice in Hydra :)
Instead of nekmo you could put ma'shalled and add inc speed and cdmg, and enable the a3 of ratalos
Saf do you know if the summoning pools have different odds for the legendary champs? I have spent sooo much money for the archer and instead got 6 countess lix and 2 of EVERY other leggo in the pool

Summoning Odds are equal distribution. If you imagine the summoning pool is a deck of cards - when there is a boosted chance (x10/15) they simply add more cards of the same champion to the deck. its still equal chance to get 1 of the total but there are now more of the one you want.

With my Sulfuryon. i have a void burner who is speeding up the team and pretty much always has the burn on the heads.

Put sicia in affinity breaker. Then you get your aoe burn and def down and weaken
Hi Saph, Was wondering what blessing you would use on Rathalos? I was fortunate to get a six star blessing for him.
Brimstone at 6 star is good - Soul reap also.

P.S: If u are using venus and has a mischief tank, why dont u take uugo out and put a solutiuon for torment? The burn will prevent the poison cloud and archer may be able to help tankl through wrath
YOu get the burn but not the damage component on his passive if you spread geo burn.
Krok'Mar has team increase crit damage and is considered a decent Hydra champ. Does anyone know if the Krok decrease defense passive stacks with any other passives e.g. Cruelty or Gnut passive?

I changed my Rathalos up a lot today. Used that Damage Efficiency Tool on HH website today to get him as balanced as I can atm, and since he's using Heavencast Blesing I put him into ATK/SUP instead of ATK/DEF, that way I've got an extra chance to increase the duration of his buffs and keep more up at a time for a longer period. As well as Hex Master, just for when he's in a group and he's the only Defense breaker.
I really wanted to use Lasting Gifts and master Hexer at the same time, but I totally forgot about Cycle of Violence, bummer.
But, after reducing his spd drastically so he wasnt burning through his buffs it worked out pretty well, and it was when I was using a really sh^t team for Magic Affinity CB. It was my first time seeing a champ hit for over a million damage with 1 a single hit, so I can't wait for CB to reset so I can go against the UNM Void affinity with my main team and squeeze that last 6 million I need to get my 1 key for UNM!

Actually, it looks like a build with endless A2 would be making more damage, as he would constantly get to that golden window plus it might be even done on auto
Possibly yes - but the a3 being aoe is good damage also - not to mention the c.dmg
once i get mikage and my full team i'll experiment!
Saph your emic elva pain keeper team for demon lord with elva 307 281 emic and 283 painkepepr is quite tough for me can i do it with much lower speeds ?
What about walking tomb. As a burner?

Farahkin the fat is mikage light, he'll do the increased crit damage and ally attack
Used him in Normal Hydra with Venus and Cupidus and he did 90M, almost the same than Cupidus. Nowhere near Trunda level :(
white whale: Lady mikage, lydia, skullcrusher, fahrakin and he can attack 10/12 times per clan boss rotation!
What about the "NEW" Ratholos gear, will that help even more?
he only aoes half the time - so its less effective - its just another layer of RNG (can you get the 30% during the window when all are dead and the 5th hit and its on the a2 etc)

Possible but not as good as trunda.
Why not Dreng as the burner? His A2 isn’t resistible and his A3 helps a lot with healing
Not bad, but he is activating the burns, so it is harder to have burns all the time.
Dreng will still fail to burn on weak hits.
Not resistable just means you don't need accuracy, it doesn't solve the issue of weak hits that saph was referring to.

@@rodrigofernandes4360 Yeah Affinitybreaker helps, still not guaranteed but good enough. His equalize A3 is also a good way to heal your team on hydra without destroying their Max HP.
Do you not have lonatharil or is he just not built? Give crit damage and ally attack. From your first video he was the one I immediately thought of, him and Ma'Shalled. I actually just started putting in Valkanen into my teams and was trying to move champs around a bit and might move ma'shalled off of the team I put Vlkanen on so he'd pair well with Rathalos. It is funny people claim trunda is broken when it is actually yumeko and trunda is already a pain in the ass to set up without the double yumeko cheat... rathalos is worse. Still excited to build him out if I can work him into the rotation to get books... it is beyond a shame that you get so many characters you cannot use in this game. If they ever want to maximize long-term profits they'd let you farm books. It would really stabalize things in the game and while what they'd make in selling energy wouldn't cover the difference, I think more people would be willing to spend on energy or spend on shards if they had a way to actually book characters that they could grind towards.
Him with emic and geo are great, you can build emic to be the mischeaf target and you can use artak in a provoke set with retaliation and some revenge accessories if you dont have provoke champ
@@jackemilio1332 I actually pulled a second emic a week or so after the fusion (big of a gut punch when you get 3 void legos a year if you aren't a big spender). I have been considering making the second emic specifically for hydra. My main emic is in regen and immortal for a bunch of the other 271 teams and I just couldn't add resist onto the build as well.
Lonatharil is just low damage really.

why you choose warmaster instead of 20% crit dmg , warmaster gives like 30k dmg only
If anything - Helmsmasher be better - going to be doing the math on it.
Teumisia for burn + good damage
Pair him with Mashallad. Speed and crit dmg for the whole team!
Not having a full GH I find other characters better to use in most areas.

Hydra is just too much for me. I 1 key easy. 1 key hard on 1 rotation but the rest are ridiculous. Kimi and Ukko together give me almost full control of the fight. But then i have no support if i want to use a second key. Quickly built Rathalos. Decent, but i built him too slow and only 3.4k attack. I find it so hard to get 100 crit rate plus speed AND attack over 4k. Guess i need perception or speed gear on him for what i have.
BTW since he was so slow he was dead half the time and did as much damage as my Mithrala so.... ya I didn't build him for hydra
Came to see builds get a whale tier merciless build. Lol waste of time for the average player. Change the title
