Thank you for the video. After 2 years of use one of the batteries became too short. Seeing this video I got the motivation to fix it instead of buying a new one. After a couple of weeks it is still working perfectly.

When observing, anyone is free to critique as they see fit. One does not have to prove something, just because they can infer it from information laid out to them. All the guy did, was voice his opinion from facts or information he has Secondly, just because the criticism is not something you agree with, doesn't mean he has any burden of proof or needs to do it himself. His point was, he thinks the galaxy buds or wireless buds should be rated differently under a different premise, due to how generally you can't open them, let alone fix any component. Whether it's valid or not, I don't know, but I agree with that reasoning.
The "downsides" that they mentioned are just stupid. After opening, careful prying is required - come on guys. What do you expect. Some cables in the charging case are soldered directly to the motherboard - I don't see any problem soldering something directly to the MB. As long as the solder joint is good it should be ok. Besides replacement parts will not be available for the charging case anyway. So I don't think that soldering cables to the MB matters that much.
Even though you don't, I would. I've never soddered and don't have the tools for it, so it would be something I'd have to source. Even if it's easy for you, or easy in general, it's something that I'd have to source time and money for that I straight up don't have. It's all referential

I actually accidentally washed my buds in the washer, after leaving them in the sun to heat up and dey I found that the right bud wasn't working, thanks to this vid and showing me how easy it is to take them apart. I did that with the right one and cleaned it with alcohol and scrubbed it down... Not they both work ✌️
Is it possible to just remove the metal mesh to clean? I've tried my best to keep my ears clean, but it's still gunked up enough to dampen the sound coming out.
Using a small vise is a great idea to open earphones that use plastic housings! As an addition to that method, you could place something between the earphone housing and the jaws of the vise to avoid marring the housing. You might even be able to use smooth plastic jaws (or something softer than plastic) with some tacky material on them to prevent the earbuds from slipping on the jaws. To me, it looks like these can be disassembled without any permanent physical damage.
@@Roshan_420 100% this. I upgraded from my mid 2010 mbp to a zenbook UX 333 and on paper it's an enormous upgrade in performance from a shitty core2duo to a 9th gen i7. Though the trackpad is great by windows standards it's a huge downgrade from my mbp and makes using the laptop unenjoyable a lot of the times
for people who want to fix those buds, protip on how to not chew up the plastic casing: fold some newspaper pages and put those between the clamp and the earbuds when clamping down on the buds :D

This video helped me figure out how to get my galaxy buds apart and fix the problem I was having where my left ear bud was totally dead. I accidentally left the buds and case in my pocket before a laundry cycle and well, the heavy wash cycle and electronics don't really mix--. I took them out, separated them all, and waited a couple of days before I tried them again, but unlike my totally fine right bud and charger, my left bud was totally unresponsive. It wouldn't charge, and my phone couldn't find it. Putting into the charger got the red light, then green light, then nothing. Tonight; like 6 months later, after taking them apart like in the video, I removed them from the wearable app-- like I had dozens of times before trying to fix it, and tonight it worked! I'm sure I got really lucky, but I think that removing the battery from the contacts might have broken the gridlock it was in, and now 'ol lefty is back in full swing~ Thanks a million for making this video!
I have had my original buts for 4,5 Years now and I have noticed the battery live decreasing now that I found out how repairable they are I might just replace the Batteries and keep them until they break or I really want noise cancelling, how cool!

There are pros and cons to this Pros- Repairable Easily fixable Easy to replace battery cons- Due to nothing being sealed the buds can get water inside them very easily If water comes in contact with everything in the galaxy buds it’s pointless to repair but instead to buy a new pair

There is an easier way to open the Samsung earbuds. Use an air compressor. Aim the compressed air at the small hole just below the R or L mark and it pops right open.

Depending on the phone as some niche manufacturers do offer camera modules and repairable phones. Notably Fairphone. But you wont be able to switch the camera on any other device. Even if by some miracles dimensions, ribbon cable placement and length fits, the board won’t recognise the unsupported camera.
You also have to keep in mimd that most of the photo quality increase we’ve been getting year over year is due to software. A lot of Android phones use the same camera module, but it’s the software of the manufacturer - the way it processes and takes the photo, that has the greater affect on quality.
Wow you guys destroyed those galaxy buds. For a company that is based on fixing technology I am surprised you butchered those buds like that. You don't need any special tools besides your hands and a plastic prying piece. I was able to open my earbuds in 15 seconds without damaging the plastic casing. Hopefully in the future you take more care in disassembling technology.
It's a breeze compared to the apple ones that require the four sacred warriors of light to defeat the demonic beasts to get the sacred sword that can cut thru the apple glue and be able to handle the final demonic form of the buds.
You should not replace your Galaxy bud batteries unless you are 100% sure it is the exact same battery because just getting a random cell battery with same form factor may not be rechargable and may cause leaks and ruin your earbuds

The tech community really should ask for a boycott on airpods until it's batteries are made easy to remove, if not for customers, than at least for recyclers. clean out the bud that isnt making sound. You probably got earwax stuck in it

You should not replace your Galaxy bud batteries unless you are 100% sure it is the exact same battery because just getting a random cell battery with same form factor may not be rechargable and may cause leaks and ruin your earbuds

you do realize that all lithium ion batteries degrade right? the batter in the airpods is the same tech as the battery in the buds

do you know what kind of adhesive would be used to fix them? the shiny touchpad part that controls the volume on my left bud fell off! i stuck it back on but it is not Completely stuck due to falling off once or twice
I have an galaxy bud that is overheating. Initially I thought it was the battery so I replaced after seeing your video but even with a new battery it still beeps and gets hot after a few minutes. Any thoughts on what is wrong? Left one works great but right one just overheats.
Could I put a bigger cell in the case, so the it can charge the buds more Times? Because it looks like a normal cell
I dont understand why you needed to but the galaxy buds into a benchwice to open them i only yoused a screwdrive to open them and dident even leavr a mark :D

The tech community really should ask for a boycott on airpods until it's batteries are made easy to remove, if not for customers, than at least for recyclers.

to tell the truth.. Its very likely that nobody is going to replace those batteries, but a smaller piece would benefit everyone.
