This is an amazing video! Crazy scary but really cool. The lighting makes the water look like liquid silver and really highlights every crazy current and the battle the kayaker has to wage!
Bon kayakiste bon site, bon moment bonne camera quelques vues depuis plus bas aurait été agréables. le point de vue est trop élevé pour bien montrer le relief de l'eau. Mais en tant que kayakiste je peux l'imaginer. merci quand même.
the water is swirling and eddying and its pulling the boat in different directions. with very little, or no forward movement, the kayak is quite easy to tip in tricky water. he was not deliberately initiating those rolls.
Have to disagree - he is initiating those rolls - on many you can see him setting up for a roll with his paddle before he deliberately turns over. He has gotten and stays that good and that comfortable in those conditions by constantly practicing all of his skills, "over and over". Nor is it "showing off" - this guy practices! Got a roll? Okay let's make it work in whirlpools, current and waves.
Perfect conditions for standing waves. Did you just get lucky, or do you monitor tides and weather and are ready to go at a moment's notice? I've been through Deception Pass many times on a sailboat, but only at slack tide. This looks insane to me.
What is the kayak your in? Looks swede form, do you think that is the most maneuverable? I have a Dagger alchemy that is diffidently Swede and a Tiderace Xtra that is diffidently not Swede. The Alchemy responds better but it is two and a half feet shorter. The skill of the paddler, of coarse, makes all the difference. I just wanted to know your opinion of form vs. handling. You are a expert no doubt.
My favorite kayak video. I never get tired of watching this. Love the part where the ship crashes by, providing some real perspective.
You should watch "This is Warren". ruclips.net/video/M2I3gf77XsI/видео.html
So good to watch right before sleep....
Beautiful....
Nice job Reg.
Nothing on Netflix is as exciting and captivating as this video.
You're right nothing is on Netflix.
Best paddler I have ever seen. I am scared to even get close to this type of water/wave.
Very impressive! I learned a lot just watching you.
Total legend. Wonderful to watch and rewatch this.
I’ve been through that pass on a boat in those waves and was lucky to be alive this guy is on another level
This is tip of the spear...nothing better...unreal and such an inspiration.....some day I may be half as good...

Wow. Wouldn't ol' Ben Ure be impressed had he witnessed this mastery.
@rcmallory
It is an Illusion from Sterlings Kayaks
Sterling is a custom builder. Warrens kayak is 48 lbs.

One persons pleasure is another's terror! Goes to show tho, our boats limits are often only us....
Excellent ,
Can somebody please explain to me what all of those rolls where about?
Showing off.
Motorsports equivalent... Doughnuts!

Nice G Sticking Warren. Way to keep it real. Such an Epic Video Reg your editing it getting really good. Needs some tunes.
Err... no, not really. The sound of the wind and the current is perfect. It's the best tune.
Hi Warren,
The wind roaring at the mic sounds great. What camera and lens were used?
