I already knew all of this stuff, but I knew I would going in. I really liked the clear way you explained this. Not at all confusing and if I had just started playing skylanders, this guide would help me a bunch.
Soon I will be doing some Lets Play's so don't worry about that. This is something that didn't exist that I really thought should especially to help grow the Skylanders community.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* You may notice Skylanders figures who have different colors than they’re supposed to. These are variants. There are many different types of variants, some unique to a character and others shared across groups. Most of the time, these do not affect gameplay. There’s also a fine line between certain variants: in-game and chase. In-game variants actually appear as their alternate colors in-game. For example, if you use Legendary Spyro, who has black and yellow colors compared to Spyro’s normal orange and purple, he will appear as his Legendary palette in-game. Certain in-game variants are exclusive to different starter packs and sellers (though that doesn’t really matter anymore since most stores don’t sell Skylanders anymore), others are found easily on the market. Then there are Chase variants. These guys do not appear as their palettes in-game, however are rarer than in-game variants. These are made purely for collecting. Once again, some are unique to certain Skylanders, others are shared across groups. These guys aren’t specially packaged like in-game variants, and are mostly thrown in random boxes with no pattern. Unlike the unique designs of in-game variants, most chases are solid colors or translucent colors, with few exceptions (such as Pumpkin Eye-Brawl, who has a special orange eye with a Jack-o-Latern design on it). The number of chases have dwindled with each game, but they still exist regardless, and while they don’t use the their colors in-game are still acknowledged in-game as special editions. It is quite easy to tell if a variant is in-game or not: In-game ones normally have more detailed colors, and their boxes use unique art corresponding to the variant. The box also has the variant’s unique name. Like I said, chases are normally simpler in colors, and their boxes do not have unique names or unique art. They are still just as valuable though.
Very True! I didn’t add variants into the video because I thought it would be a little too much for this video. Good info! I’ll have to make another video for variants and chases!
NOTE: There are eight version-exclusive figures as well. Turbo Charge Donkey Kong, Hammer Slam Bowser, Barrel Blaster, Clown Cruiser, and the Dark variants of those four figures. These characters, being guest stars from Nintendo's Mario series, can only be used with Nintendo consoles.
@@phantolmaothey only came in ps4 and ps3 imaginator starter packs if you buy for a different console u have to buy them separately but work on all consoles
I like to see this game isn’t fully dead yet, my father banned any entrance to the play room in the basement thus it was never to be played to this day. Made me sad that they wont be making any more games
I actually had originally planned to put more about traps and the shapes but I think it would have distracted from this videos core message but it would be cool to potential make a companion video about traps.
Good video but I feel something like this isn’t very useful right now. Maybe if they bring back skylanders ever. You explained everything really nicely and well tho.

That’s the idea of the video. I really made it to help new people and people getting back into it. Thank you so much for checking it out.

Hey that’s a good one. Really cool how those two made it into Skylanders and had the bottoms where you could switch from Amiibo to Skylander.
Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex are exclusive to the PS4 version of Imaginators too

Fantastic video!!!
Can the barrel blaster or clown cruiser be played on a Xbox? I know the Nitendo figures can’t but will there vehicles?
No. You can’t use those vehicles on the Xbox or PlayStation versions of those games.
I actualy started collecting the first 4 series in 2019 and i know only need 22 more to complete my collection😄
Nice. Keep up the collection :)
there is a other way if you put them on the portal it tells you
The platina chest from imaginators do not unlock levels the levels are with ro-bow and wildstorm
You are correct. The figures themselves do. This is an error in the video. Good catch.

3:19 Where did you buy that stand for the traps?
Oh those things? They are collectable display stands. I think I got them on ebay.
What about traps I think you should go in a bit more depth like how there’s different shapes and elements

thanks this will help a lot with explainging skylanders to a friend
Hey no problem! Thanks for watching
I just watched a few minutes listening to something a am already a master at
what is the circle you put on it the character figures my uncle son had one of them and we played with them and i want to play sky landers again
It’s the portal of power. They hook up to the console so you can play the character in the game.
@@SheriffCrazy thanks for telling me
Very helpful, thank you!
hands up if you stayed until the end for trixie :3c
Trixie. The myth. The legend.
Did you mean land sea and sky for vehicles
Ha I did say ground. Land is more appropriate but same difference I suppose.
You forgot to cover lightcore figures
I thought base colors were rarity’s lol
