    I'm an Aussie in my 50s, and find a lot of these words/phrases quite old-fashioned. I've never said "chookas", and I haven't said "rack off" since the 80s! 'Daggy' is a classic, though. Much better than the US equivalent 'goofy'.

      I think a lot of slang comes back around again. Kind of like fashion :p The word chookas is very specific to theatre and is commonly used. More so than the typical 'break a leg'.

    So many of these are used in the south of the US. Not all, but a good many of them! The Australian accent is surprisingly similar to my southern accent as well so not difficult to do.

    I thank you for your deeper level research into the meaning of “cheeky” I’ve mostly learned about many phrases in context from doing audiobooks and so i have a general sense of how/when some phrases can be used, but this was a great explanation. Thanks. : )

    this is gonna sound odd, but how would you say the name, bea minor, with an australian accent? i was invited to a murder mystery, and my character is australian, and i want to do the accent and be able to pronounce the name correctly
