  • Last video we showed the prep work and the final loading of an enclosed van trailer full of hay. Today we are showing you guys our advanced packaging system to load flat trailers for very easy unloading. We are using a JCB telehandler, our Steffen System Grapple, a operating skills to quickly load a 53ft trailer with 742 bales in Arcusin 14 bale bundles.
    We are a family farm in northern Ohio specializing in hay, straw, corn, soybeans and custom work. Thanks for checking us out!

    I've just joined your channel for a month or so and I love the work ethics that everyone shows!! Great videos about farming!! I grew up on a farm with 3 farms that we're next to ours so you always had something to do, needless to say those work ethics are still in me today. Proud to be a farmer at 54yr olds!!

    Will you have a chance to get a second cutting done this year?

    • @FarmingInsider
      @FarmingInsider  3 года назад +1

      Oh yeah, we will get 4th cutting in some of our fields. We just have a clump of acres in a close vicinity that has caught nearly every heavy rain this year. It’s absolutely unbelievable

  • @gavinperry7237
    @gavinperry7237 3 года назад +1

    I have watched a number of your videos loading bales and am still a little confused as to what stops the second row of bales from dropping out of the bottom of the batch of bales you grab.
    The length of the upper grab hooks don’t appear to be long enough to penetrate into the bottom row.
    The bottom row appears to sag a little in the center during the handling process.
    Is there some sort of “Side Squeeze” that holds the bottom row together ?

    • @markheintz1878
      @markheintz1878 3 года назад +1

      The machine that makes the packs also wraps the bundles with twine. Thats what keeps them together in the bundles.

    • @gavinperry7237
      @gavinperry7237 3 года назад +1

      @@markheintz1878 That would be a “Cool Operation” to see.
      It is amazing what new technology can do.
      So much more efficient than handling single small bales one at a time.
      My back would have LOVED that system 45 years ago when working at a feedlot

    • @FarmingInsider
      @FarmingInsider  3 года назад

      I will go more in depth into the bundler. Thanks for the suggestion!
