This DD is the best version so far. He absolutely looks like this in the comics all the damn time. It’s how he needs to look, all red isn’t accurate, he has shadowing to blend into the shadows. Anyone can disagree but they would be absolutely wrong. Hasbro did a decent job making him look like the comics & the cartoon. The body articulates well enough but that head gap is an issue.
I don't get why Hasbro still uses that hand for hold the batons, Deadpool from the 2 pack comes with a set of hands to hold the swords that have vertical hinge, and would be perfect to replace this old hand that comes with DD
This guy has a hell of a presence on the shelf, I also thought I wouldnt like the cell shading but putting this figure next to the three pack version makes the old one look dull as hell.
This might be a little long winded but honestly I think the perfect neck articulation is a combination of both. Double ball peg at the bottom of the neck, and a ball disk hinge at the top. The ball disk hinge doesnt look even remotely as bad as the horrible double ball peg in terms of the gap it creates plus the extreme lack of up and down movement. Most people apparently would rather sacrifice the range of up and down just to have the side to side tilt which is just insane to me. The combination gives the best of both worlds and they've actually done it already on a couple figures but with great result.
Dang Hasbro actually did a good job on the cell shading for once. I just wish he was on the AF Spidey or Vulcan body instead of this one because his shoulders are way too tiny. Other than tha he looks awesome, especially with the angry face
@@bichonnation9494 at least the Vulcan body is actually shaped like a superhero though. Retro Spidey is one of the worst looking body molds hasbro has ever released
@@KTLaughter this isn’t even the retro body it’s the RYV. And the RYV body mould isn’t even close to one of the worst. The shoulders are a little small but doesn’t ruin the proportions by any means. The Vulcan buck is a little to bulky for DD anyway since he’s never been drawn particularly big in any comics either. I’d much rather take the vastly superior range of articulation for a character like daredevil if it means his shoulders are just a bit too small.
@@bichonnation9494 the RYV is the same exact same sculpt just with pinless joints and toe articulation. The shoulders aren’t just a little too small, they are way too small and too low, which means yes, they do affect the proportions (proportions literally are the relative size of the body parts). His pecks are sculpted wrong and are too flat, the biceps and triceps don’t merge into the deltoids correctly, the legs are too far apart and aren’t thick enough, the obliques are too big and round, and the upper leg should be longer than the lower leg. Objectively, if you just look at the accuracy of the proportions and anatomy, this mold isn’t as good as the other ones. You’re definitely correct that DD should be an athletic build like Spider-Man, but I think Hasbro should just quit using the retro body mold all together and opt for the AF 15 mold in its place. It’s not a terrible figure over all, but their decision to use this mold was enough for me to pass on it.
Just keeping my fingers crossed for the bubble gum pink they used on 97 Gambit on that body, I have my own custom but I need HASBRO to do the Cajun justice

@@NerdAffiliatedtrue i have only bought one 2pk because i needed that destoyer but im not into paying extra for the one figure i want . Making zabu into a baf was also a lowblow since he should have been packed with kazar and that would make sense . I just really dont buy legends anymore with how greedy they are now
The double ball peg neck is better in theory and would be able to have that range, but ML is terrible at implementing most joints properly. They sink those joints in waaaaay too deep on the head and body.
I love this deco. This is how I'd want cell shading all the time. But personally, I dont like this buck or articulation set up and for the Daredevil art I like, bucky capt still fits the bill. Just disappointing that it feels like it takes forever for Hasbro to give some paint and accessories.
I really wish Hasbro would make the neck setup for the model 20 Ironman the new standard for marvel legends. You can get crazy expressive with the head tilt with that setup
Frank Miller's daredevil is what this figure represents as far as looks and the animated cartoon
Wish he didnt come in a 2 pack. Looks dope
Hydroman ain’t that bad tbh, I wanted the full water look for him anyway

The cell shading reminds me a lot of Klaus Jansens inks from Frank Millers run on Daredevil.

That figure honestly came with some many good hands

Def not Vulcan 💀 way too little articulation for a character like this.

They just released gambit for X-men 97 I wouldn’t count on them doing it again so soon
These companies are scamming with the multi packs
Yes and no, at least hydroman is new enough, it’s worse when it’s mold that’s old af like Bucky cap or sun fire. The 3pk was more egregious imo,

Curious if your going to add some shading to the butterfly joints since they are all red and break up the cell shaded look
