As a Chargers fan, obviously Herbert is extremely talented. But he was straight garbage vs Texans horrible defense late last season which was a huge reason the Chargers missed playoffs. Yeah he was magical vs Raiders. But he shouldn’t have had to be heroic in that game if he just showed up vs the terrible Texans. Also was trash vs Broncos. Strange how media is all over Herbert’s nuts but were so Anti-Rivers through the years!

And that’s the difference between him and Derek Carr. I saw that game. Herbert put that team on his back, in his 2nd year…and all those 4th down conversions at the end? Herbert built different.
Carr didn’t do anything 2nd half. People blame the Raiders defense as they should, but Carr and the offense going stale in the second half with 3 and outs etc, yet they still act like Herbert isn’t a problem. It’s crazy to me. One bonehead move from Chargers HC ultimately cost them that game, but those Raider fans still gonna sip the kool aid smh

The one thing you have to get chills about is this. Herbert hasn't had a back to back season before where he's been in the same offensive system since college. When asked about how the transition was from Year 1 to Year 2 in the NFL regarding a new offensive system he said he was struggling to keep afloat. Imagine what year 3 will be when he finally gets to rein the same system. Buckle Up.
Jalen hurts is the same hasn’t been in the same offense since high school and all he’s been saying this off season is how much being in the same offense has been a positive for him, and he looks more decisive so far and looks much improved from last year… J herbo is way better of a QB than hurts so I can only imagine what he’s gonna look like with the same offense feeling more comfortable

Idk the dynamics involved with assessing talent and placing value with respect to positional importance and so on... But...
Justin Herbert is the truth. Even in a time where the NFL has (arguably) the greatest amount of ACTIVE QB talent ever... I don't see how you can place Herbert outside of the top 20. In my mind he is closer to top 10.
He was super clutch against the raiders during the final week and against the steelers as well after losing the lead. He really is HIM, should be a top 3 qb for this coming year
I would’ve thought top 25 for Herbert. He had the same stats or better than Allen in some areas. Before anyone mentions “make the playoffs” go look at those other top quarterback’s defenses.

Hard to place blame on one person, but Herbert was terrible late last season vs Texans and Broncos. Even though Chargers lost to Raiders and Herbert was insanely good that game, IT SHOULDNT HAVE CAME DOWN TO THAT GAME! Chargers defense sucked. Everybody knows that. But the way the media hypes up Herbert while ignoring that he was garbage in other games late last season (vs terrible defenses) really is a disgrace. Even as a Chargers fan and huge Herbert fan, it’s getting so annoying seeing how the media is clearly promoting an agenda. They hated Rivers as much as any QB in the league for years, then as soon as Herbert is there he gets all this special treatment.

As a chiefs fans only other QB I'd select after Mahomes is Herbert or Allen. Herbert is a stud should definitely be ranked higher for sure. I know hindsight is 20/20. However, it’s hard to fathom we took Chase Young, rather than this guy in the 2020 NFL Draft. Hopefully, Carson Wentz can do something. Nevertheless, Justin Herbert checks all the boxes at the QB position. I’ll never forget him going 14 of 18 on 3rd down against us in the first game of the 2021 NFL season.
