NHL on TNT is growing on me, I think what makes it look good is a lot of the guys from NBC came over to TNT, Liam McHugh, Kenny Albert, Eddie Olczyk, Keith Jones, Anson Carter, Darren Pang, and then some new additions like Wayne Gretzky, Paul Bissonnette, and Rick Tocchet. They have a pretty good crew at TNT.
While I think TNT has the better crew overall (with many of the talent coming from NBC,) I actually don’t think ESPN has been all that bad for a network that hasn’t covered hockey in almost 2 decades. Their main studio crew of Levy, Messier, Chelios, and Boucher (from NBC) is pretty good, and Ray Ferraro is one of the best analysts in the sport. Bob Wichusen has been excellent, especially considering that he hasn’t called hockey in a while. That being said, I’m not a big fan of Sean McDonough or John Buccigross on play-by-play. If they were smart, they’d pair Ferraro with Gord Miller from TSN in their main booth.
Eh not rrly. I like that they let them have personality like they do at the NBA panel but it’s just not the same as the NBA panel lol. Like they’re just not naturally funny like those guys are, half the time they wind up being cringe on the NHL panel. Ig they kinda are the best hockey panel but that doesn’t say too much with what they’re up against
Hello again everybody I'm Kenny Albert along with Eddie olczyk break down the gameplan between these 2 teams what you do have for us (think like you watch actual tnt 📺)
this theme is great and i can see it getting super respected in a few years, but the ESPN theme is just way too good and is definitely going to overshadow this theme for a long time
The 2023, 2025, and 2027 finals will be cable exclusive and will also air on HBO Max, but there are major concerns over pirated live streams of the game for those who don’t have standard cable or subscribe to hbo max. This issue can be partially rectified by simulcasting the games over the air in the markets of the participating teams. However this would require affiliates carrying the games to reschedule network primetime to late night or move them to sister stations if necessary.
Not a bad theme. But ESPN theme is way way way better. NBC theme also way better. And abc's and FOX NHL theme was too much better. This theme is not great but not bad. Its ok. Its a slightly lesser version of the NBC SNF theme which is pretty good but not great. Though TNT's NHL coverage is actually very good so far overall. Not quite as good as ESPN's, but good none the less.
This is an awesome theme song but the start times with the TNT games are absolutely ridiculous. You can’t have puck drops close to 9:00 PM central or mountain time. Nobody likes that. Especially the people at the game. After the first game of their weekly doubleheader on Wednesdays the next puck drop isn’t until 8:52 PM in many cases if the second game is in the central or mountain time zone. That needs to be fixed.

They remind me sometimes of Shaq Barkley Johnson and Smith. TNT>ESPN

I agree. I like TNT’s/Turner’s lineups more than ESPN’s. It’s more like I just like most networks who do sports over ESPN.
Need Gary Thorne back and try to get Bill Clement for either TNT or ESPN
It’s honestly a solid theme, but it’s up against two of the greatest theme songs in all of sports, NHL on NBC and NHL on ESPN.
I wasn’t crazy about the NBC theme to me it’ll always be the ESPN and abc theme
@@Irishmahn87 the NBC theme was great, much better than ESPN and especially this TNT hot garbage.
Espn/tnt/nbc for me.
NHL on ABC theme is lit too
ESPN theme is overrated af it’s aged a ton
Best hockey production right now
I 100% agree with you

The cleanest version that’s been uploaded so far!
Welcome to Madison square garden as artemi panarin and the Rangers takes on Austin Matthews and the Toronto maple leafs.

except the near beginning part lol
this theme is great and i can see it getting super respected in a few years, but the ESPN theme is just way too good and is definitely going to overshadow this theme for a long time
Nah, it sucks, being the NBC theme back
@Bailey Brown wrong, I was born in that time period, none of the themes do anything for me besides NBC
Very solid theme for the inaugural season.
Not a bad theme. Great Job TNT!

This theme makes me think of a dramatic thriller film coming to its climax
how did they get away with this? this is ESPN NFL prime time theme in a different chime?!
yo i jus thot abt it, it does sound like NFL PrimeTime

Only the beginning sounds the same.
Why does this looks like Adam Page’s AEW theme song…
Didn't notice that before but they do sound similar. Had to pay tribute to the show they had to kick to TBS I guess.
The TNT broadcast is actually decent.
Let’s go nhl
This is getting me “horned up” as Biz would say
opening is similar to the NFL primetime music with chris berman
What Was That?
❤
The Avs have won it
NHL on TNT isn't #1 but I like the way it sounds
Who's The Composer Of This Theme?
Trevor Rabin of the band Yes, same guy who did NBA on TNT and MLB on TNT
TNT has to come harder than this
ESPN/ABC X Games Theme (1999-Present)
This one is so underrated, I like it better than ESPN but less then NBC
Can we move the Olympics to ABC, ESPN, ESPN 2, TNT and TBS?
*STICK WITH ONE NETWORK!!!* Not all 5 networks will work.
@@latintvman09 sure, it will.
Cannot get used to this. Same with ESPN. Nothing will top NHL on NBC.
nhl on nbc kinda sucked in it’s final years tho
That theme is overrated imo
@@nate5859 it was the same theme modified slightly.
@@danielberretta1833 you are wrong. It was arguably the best in sports.
@@fredleinweber2819 no i meant the broadcast sucked in its final years bruh

It's all about having that precious doubleheader. Ridiculous start times don't mean a thing to the networks. Sad but true.
