Thank you for the video overview, Geek Gamers. I recently tried playing Forbidden Lands again with my friends and i agree with your assessment from the previous video, ma'am. Forbidden Lands books have a rather clutered organization inside the book. It has pretty cool rules but a reference cheat sheet is a must during play.
I was just looking into buying Forbidden Lands. Several solo content creators have recommended it. Can't wait for your solo play example video of the main ruleset. Also, I recently bought your book and have learned many great techniques from it. Such a great resource. Thanks and take care.
Thanks so much! I have actually already made two videos on solo play of Forbidden Lands. Will link in vid description but you can also find them here: Forbidden Lands solo: ruclips.net/video/4KkmR6xVRkI/видео.html 10 solo RPG tips: ruclips.net/video/XdZ1RNMBF80/видео.html
Got the core box set on my shelf, once I finish Destroyer of Worlds (Alien RPG) with my group, I'm very stoked to give the game a try both at the table and now solo! Thanks for the vid 😁
Such a perfect ad for the book. I watched the video the other day and as soon as the email from Free League arrived today announcing that the orders were open, I ordered myself a copy : D
This made me rush over to my bookshelf and rip off the plastic to finally read this. I would have looked at it sooner (when I received it), but I was too busy looking over and playing other games you've recently shown us. 😁
Great video as always, it's great to see that more and more creators are worrying about the solo player in their books. But I think that when it comes to solos I prefer a smaller number of tables to avoid flipping through many unnecessary pages until I find what I really need, and mainly a pattern in them like using only d66 in all or then cards for all, alternating is confusing at least for me, I think it's easier to have two dice than a deck with no cards missing at home.
You know as an outsider for free league rpgs i wonder if free league has done any improvements after the one ring 2e's solo rules supplement. It seems to be a mixed bag from its dtrpg reviews.
There seems to be a real uptick in use of card decks these days... not sure why. I don't love it myself but I guess I'm slowly getting used to it? Personally, I'd prefer dice!
I believe they're still fulfilling the rewards for the Kickstarter backers, after which it should become available (it isn't in the Free League Store yet either). Hopefully soon :)
I have updated my video description to clarify that the book is not available yet, but will be soon. I think I stated that in during the video, but perhaps not quite clearly enough. Thanks for the question.
A d66 table means that you roll two d6s and read the results consecutively, such as 3,5 and then look that value up on the table of 36 numbered entries. There is no d66 itself as one die.

Are you following the new official solo rules?
Would love to see an extended fobidden lands campaign on here!
Me too, lol! If I didn’t have a day job… but I do hope to get a session going on camera, at least.
Thank you for the video overview, Geek Gamers.

@@GeekGamers01 Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

Finally they have info on potions. The main books only have poisons.
Amazing, can’t wait to get this, I left my PCs in a castle some months ago,so now I can go back and see what happens next
Very excited about this! I love Forbidden Lands but admittedly have struggled getting solo campaigns off the ground
Understandable. I’ve got two videos on the system (links pinned above). If you haven’t watched them yet, they might be of use.

Agree that I’d prefer either just dice or just cards-and really just dice!

Can the solo rules completely replace all of the normal GM rules? (Besides reference info) Or are both needed to fully run a solo/co-op campaign?
Both are needed.
Just hate the card deck thing, oh well

Personally, I'd prefer dice!
I converted all the tables to d6 and/or d66 tables. I play analog and don't like mucking with the cards.
Is this new FL book available yet? I didn't see the PDF available on Drive Thru.

What is a D66?
