Since Senbonzakura is originally a Japanese song, when translating it from Japanese to English (or any language really), the spoken syllables in any direct translation almost never fit very well to the beat of the song, so when writing lyrics for singing a song, the lyricist will often change things a bit so that the new lyrics convey more or less the same meaning while still fitting the beat like the original untranslated lyrics do. Since there are usually more than one ways of saying the same thing, different lyricists often come up with different lyrics than each other. Basically, in most cases at least, there just isn’t only a single way to translate a song from one language into singable lyrics for another. I hope that clarifies things. I’m not an expert on the matter though, so my apologies if I’ve said something incorrect.

Wut? Japan was never under Korean control, the song is about the Meiji restoration and rapid industrialization of Japan in the late 19th century. That being said yeah, there is a weird dissonance between the tone and lyrics.
