Santal 33 smells like fresh unripe green guava. I used to eat green guavas as a child, which my great grandma planted. That’s my memory when I smell this perfume. Sandalwood to me is fragile wooden fans with intricate designs we bought from the local market, in the tropical country where I live, we often have wooden handmade fans to cool ourselves. Santal 33 is more guava than sandalwood to me.
Absolutely beautiful cologne hands down. I smelled it for the 1st time a few nights ago and 10mins later I was on Le Labo wedsite purchasing it. I can't wait for it to arrive. Please go out and give it a try you will not be disappointed.
I can’t justify the price of Le Labo perfumes but Santal 33 is exception! It has a great performance and it smells so so good. I can’t find anything like this. It is totally worth it. And it’s easy to layer with other scents.

I think the cheaper dupe now is Lost In Santal, part of a new Bath & Body Works called Luxury Collection which created 10 closest dupes ever to Prada Paradox, Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Valentino Born In Roma, etc. Personally Lost In Santal and Santal 33 smell the same but Lost In Santal doesn’t have that leather note
I had a tiny 0.5ml sample and was wow that’s special. So I have now got the perfume, oil, soap, shower gel. I urge people to buy from legitimate places there are so many fakes which will disappoint

It's a love or hate frag just like ombre nomade , bin shiekh or marj . It's unique, no one will smell like you. I like to layer this tere de hermes or ysl l'nuit

I have santal 33 and have it on me right now, people like it, but my self dont realy like it. It smells to much of pickles and dill. The dry down is fine but Sellier(Byredo) that smells similar is much better. It does not have the bad opening, the opening is instead a dry fresh leather.

This smells like a horse tack room with the windows open right after they cut the aromatic weeds in the ditch outside. It triggers STRONG memories of my childhood out on the horse ranch in Half Moon Bay by the Pacific Ocean. (Musty, dusty, very leathery, effervescent green and slightly flowery) It's definitely unique... I can see why people like it, but I ended up washing it off my hand because the smell started to make me feel sick after a few hours. It was too much for me. The performance was very good, though.

Both maison louis marie's bois de balincourt and dossier's woody sandalwood have been considered spot on cheaper dupes if you were interested
