Neat little observation showcase, I must say though, the image quality is less than I'd've imagined it would be. The Orion Nebula should look far brighter and more vibrant than that, especially through an 8" reflector, even binoculars and decent night skies can resolve nice detail in Orion. The planets seem a lot less sharp than they reasonably should be, too. Although that could very well be due to seeing conditions, to be fair. Knowing what telescope you have, I'm 99% sure that's not the issue, it's a great 8" dob. What camera are you using to record through the eyepiece? Also what settings are you using, what ISO, among other things?
I completely agree with what you said. There were some image distortions due to the atmosphere on some observation nights, but the problem was entirely due to me recording with my mobile phone. I am looking for a new camera, hopefully I will be able to make sharper observations soon ✨
nice work, cannot wait to get my own Dob in March 2025 !! (40th birthday present from family if i can drop enough hints lol)
Many happy years under starry nights ✨
