We bought a RWD Mod Y last year in April LFP battery like yours drive around 27,000kms, built in Shanghai like yours. Interior and exterior quality is excellent. No panel gaps at all. Our 100% charge range is still slightly higher than yours, 420kms. Range depends a lot on what types of roads you drive it on. Rough country roads will give you a slightly erroneous range estimation, being higher than it actually is in real life. Smooth roads gives a perfect range estimation every time. Love the car's ability to slot in and out of traffic at will. Instant acceleration is awesome. One pedal driving is a game changer for me. So instinctive and safe around corners. Generally love everything about the car except for the auto wipers-which are a pain. Adaptive headlights will be happening in a forthcoming software update which is exciting.
Really good review of the Y after 18000 kms of driving🙂

One thing i don t see mentionned a lot is that it is so easy to clean inside, in my previous car dust acumulated everywhere sometimes in places where it's really hard to reach. i traded my 70k (bought in 2015) BMW for a Tesla Y SR and so far i don't regret a bit, the interior quality and the suspension were better in the BMW but overall i really like the simplicity of the Tesla, i just hope it will be as reliably as the BMW, in 9 years i just did the regular maintenance and the interior was absolutely fantastic for a 9 yo car.

the Y's drivetrain has only got 17 moving parts compared to many hundred for ICE vehicles so naturally a lot more reliable.

My experience with the range on my model Y RWD in australia is very different. When I got it new the car estimated 435. I've now driven the car 30 000km in 1 year and my range on full highway speed is around 350km and daily real world range can be over 440km.

@KaboshPenguine Interesting! My lifetime avg consumption is 128wh/km, which gives a range of 453km. Biggest factors must be warm weather and vast majority of my driving is done at regular suburb speeds. It must be ideal conditions. But it show the estimates from Tesla are not wrong. Just best case scenario. Which can and does happen.

Hello, great video! 418 km is shown since it is the EPA (USA) rated range for it, it is similar to 455 km WLTP (Europe). It is the way Tesla does it, and is why I always use percentage in Teslas.

Nice and honest review ! One question about the car: I have the same Model Y RWD Shangai build and am experiencing 2 issues. The first being the center console sliding door vibrating/rattling when on bumps in the road. The second being the driver seat that is squeeking. Are the issues you also experience on your Model Y ? Kind Regards.

I have the 2023 model y lfp and my wife has the 2023 model 3 lfp. My real world range is around 360km and hers is over 500km! On the same route, her car is 20-40% more efficient (even when she is driving). I’m lucky if I hit 100% efficiency and she regularly gets 132-142% efficiency.
Her car also feels way more planted. If I had to do it again, I’d get the model 3. When my lease ends, it’s going to take quite a lot of analysis. BYD are looking like the better deal in Australia.

FFS you can't have an efficiency of more than 100%. You'd be getting more effort out than the energy put in, ie perpetual motion. What you probably mean is that the wife is more economic in her diving style.

I have the same 2023 Tesla y built in China, and have experienced a much better range. Official summer tests in Norway showed 440kms. This winter my estimated range has been from 290 km to 380 km, depending on the temperature. The 380 km estimate was at a few degrees below the freezing point.

That is the reason why the regulators changed the methodology when testing the range on cars. In the past it used to be in the most economic drive mode. Now car manufacturers are obliged to switch between modes during testing.

Try to get rid of the word "engine" in electric cars. Definition of an Engine = a machine that uses liquid fuel or steam energy to produce movement. All electric stuff uses motors, electric motors. Electric cars have a front electric motor and or a rear electric motor. Keep on the good videos!

Built quality is good but suspension is very harsh compared to the Germana made Model Y and this is my main complain. I have a MY RWD from 03/2023 with 30000km and it gives me 412km on 100% charge but its winter right now. I also notice if I do alot of fast charging it shows less range, but after charging 100% at home it goes back to normal. I can do 300km in real life. But what really pisses me off is the windshield wipers behaviour and the Tesla vision. I got mine for 47000€ but with fiscal incentives is like 30200€.

I also have question regarding full charge/ estimated range. My new MY RWD with LFP battery shows only max ~390km. In Finland we have had around -2 to +7 the past month or so. Does the predicted estimation take account the climate/ weather temperature? Should I see rise in the estimated range when it get’s warmer? My resent 100km consumtion was 16KWH.

    • @SDADanCars
      @SDADanCars  6 месяцев назад +1

It is hard to say but i think is regarding the latest 100km or something… dont worry to much about that …my show now 415 km but at some point i saw also 398km

@@SDADanCars Just finished charging and now the screen shows 100%/382km. I forgot to mention I have 20 inch wheels. Could that influence? Does the people with 400+ estimations have 19 inch wheels? If yes, then the estimated range could be accuarate compared to WLTP if it’s really a EPA based estimation as some people here say? So WLTP 455/430 with 19/20 inch and EPA around 415/390km. Then this would make sense and I could sleep my nights well 😅😃

In rest incercati sa țineți bateria peste 15%
