Batman never condones killing no matter what and Damian broke this rule, Jason does it too which is also why he chose to exile himself from the Bat-family. Batman has always been someone with very little emotional reaction. Always calm and calculated. Some would say cold, but at the same time, trustworthy. There is always very rare occassions where Batman will let out his emotion, specifically sadness. Watching his adopted son killed by his biological son is one of them. Nightwing was the son he needed. He kept him grounded. Nightwing is one of the very few that can challenge Batman's action and make him rethink said action. Watching him get killed reverted Batman back to the emotions of when his parents were killed in front of him. It is a tragedy.
The funniest thing, is that Bruce lost way more than Clark. He lost his parents, three sons, his foster parent, his cousin, most of his most trusted friends and allies…. And yet, he doesn’t give in like Clark. That’s one of the reasons why i admire Batman.
Same here, Bruce lost everything except his inheritance and Alfred. Clark on the other hand had 2 sets of parents, 2 places to call home, and has the nerve to give in once he lost something dear to him. It's was someone identity that had the love of a man that showed more favor to him then his own son. kids do allot to seek out attention for the ones that don't show favor towards, Damien is the head of the league of shadows, Robin the head of Teen Titian's, the son of Brucd Wayne by birth, and grandson to Ra's al Ghul. Dick was an adopted son but was held up as his first born, Damien with every thing that held him up still wouldn't know the love that Bruce had Grayson. so, why not play the roll of Nightwing.

I can see why Damien sees it as an accident. Since Nightwing was telling him to calm down, Damien probably thought Nightwing had his attention on him at the time and was expecting something like that. I'm siding with Batman on this one though, because Damien should know better than to pull something like that in the middle of a massive fight.
While Raj Al-Ghul trained Damian well at fighting, he also helped him become insecure and vicious- fashioning more of a sharp tool than a true son of Wayne's. Plus Robin/ Nightwing and Batman/ Bruce Wayne had a 15+ yr intense relationship compared to Damian/ New Robin. Sad ' ending' for Nightwing...
While I don't exactly condone what Damien did, I feel like he and Batman should gave made up in some way. It just feels so unsatisfying for them both to eventually hate each other, since I like the relationship they have with one another.

A lot of people are trying to remove the responsibility of Dick's death from Damian by insisting on the accident. But while he didn't mean for Nightwing to break his neck, he DID throw a stick at Nightwing's head. That action was intended. SO while the death IS accidental, Damian is still wholly at fault.
The whole "it was an accident" is just an excuse. One that the Regime "Heroes" keep repeating when they "unintentionally" kill other heroes, coming off as rowdy children trying to dodge punishment from a parent after getting caught doing something they know is wrong.
To me Damien is more of a danger than a threat. He obvously cannot control his temper and thinks he is better than most other people. I also agree that if you throw something at somebody, you are guilty of the consequences, no matter if they were intended or not. Every judge would say the same. It would be different to me, if Damien would be saying that he is sorry, but because he keeps saying that it was an accident makes me believe he doesn't truly understand what he has done or he simply doesn't care. He threw a stick made of solid steel at Dick, so it surprises me he didn't die instantly. Damien truly doesn't understands how emotions work. He killed someone who was both loved as son and lover and respected by others. To make up for that is very hard, but if you keep saying that it was an accident and don't even apologise, than it it impossible. To make up for it you would have to show true remorse, something Damien knows very little about.
I love Starfire’s dialogue with Red hood when she’s talking about Nightwing in Injustice 2 because it shows that Jason really cared about Dick. Jason’s been more of a brother to Dick than Damian has. Red Hood: “Grayson used to gush about you” Starfire: “I still miss him everyday” Red Hood: “Show me what impressed him so much” -One of their intro quotes.

Well when they tend to get into a way of doing things it's hard to break, and the fact he was angry he was letting his temper run loose like when he normally throws the baton and nightwing catches it. He still cared for nightwing and to say he intentionally killed him is kinda right and wrong. Think of all the times batman knocks people out, what are the chances of that person landing on rocks then, or landing the wrong way and breaking their neck? Yet this happens to Nightwing and he just so happens to land on a rock. It kinda seems like they worf'd him.
I think it was meant as a sobering reminder of the fact he's still just human, which I think is extremely fitting despite it's sudden and "dull" nature.

I never liked Damian. One of the first Jason Todd stories I ever read had Jason possibly having pushed a rapist to his death when the law stated the man was untouchable due to diplomatic immunity. It was never implicitly stated if he did it or not. As a kid, I was shocked, but intrigued with where they'd take him as a character. Reading "A Death in the Family" was one of the most gut-wrenching and heart breaking comics I'd ever read. Jason, with all his flaws, was deeply human and cared deeply too; a lot of his anger and rebelliousness came out of having lost so much, living rough on the streets. He was complex. Damian, on the other hand, is all entitlement and anger for the point of the writers wanting him to be edgier. He's a brat, and we're expected to cheer when some glimmer of humanity finally shines through. To compensate for his terrible personality, the writers write him as though he's an expert fighter that is possibly above par of the rest of the other Robin's, which is infuriating since Batman has defeated many of the League of Assassin's best fighters in hand to hand combat, (not easily, but he has), and has been the primary tutor for Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, and to an extent, Stephanie Brown, in martial arts. Compound this with the size, weight, and age advantage those Robins have and Damian's abilities fall clearly under Mary Sue territory, or "The writers wanted me to be a badass, so I am... deal with it". Some people had a problem when they saw this version of Damian kill Dick through what could almost be interpreted as an accident. But I thought it fit perfectly. He's a shallow character, and in a moment of frustration, he does what Damian always does as an entitled, spoiled, tantrum ridden teen: he lashes out the people who care about him. Lets be clear: when you throw a dangerous weapon at someone with full force, you mean to cause them harm. "I thought they'd catch it" or "I thought they'd dodge" is pure denial of YOUR OWN inability to accept responsibility for your actions. That's pure Damian Wayne. 'It's DICK's fault, he didn't catch it like he was supposed to'. I've seen some people feel sorry for him on their comments, which is ok. But Damian being sorry for what he did isn't the same as not being guilty for your actions. There's a lot of people locked up in jail who are sorry, but it doesn't change the crime they committed. Damian got off easy in my opinion; Batman has locked up people for a lot less than what Damian had done, sorry or not. Being disowned was almost a mercy.

Diana (Wonder Woman) was raised from birth in fighting also but can beat a guy like Superman understandable really but can also beat Batman who has learned multiple fighting styles and many other things. Would you say Diana's way of fighting is primitive but it's because she has fighting reflexes that let her win or just writers plot? I don't understand the depths of Wonder Woman and Batman because I've been reading comics only recently. So I thought I'd ask anyways.

Well, to be fair, in the main comics he has a better relationship with Nightwing than with Bruce. He actually dislikes Tim more. As for Injustice Nightwing becomes the new Deadman and actually forgives him, while Damian is having a difficult time deciding what he wants to be. Yet the current developments in the injustice storyline I think will take him until the point of no return that we see in th game, a deranged almost psychotic character, completely at odds with Batman.

And that's no offense to you intended, DC's the one that's driving me nuts. All I know personally is that they presented Damian as the killer of Dick Grayson, and that's where I check out of that character.
Yeah, the new 52 was stupid but they are trying to fix that, although I am still conflicted about the latest twists. The films have been disappointing so far, i agree with that. Yet, injustice is not canon, just an alternate reality about what would happen if heroes decide to take their believes to the extreme, taking their inspiration from Superman. I really dislike Damian, Superman, Halloween Jordan, and specialy Wonder Woman from that reality, that doesn't mean that I translate those feelings to the same characters of the main stream universe. By the same token I like some characters in injustice, that I don't really care for in the mainstream universe. They are a different take of a known character where they are changed somewhat based on the events that transpired.

In Injustice, I do appreciate that Batman and Captain Marvel in the "bad Superman" universe continued to maintain a sense of justice and right by opposing Superman, despite varying amounts of success. I think those are two characters that should be unshakably moral good guys, and I would usually include Superman in that list, but the entire point of the story was to give a decent reason for Superman to become "evil". The entirety of Injustice is basically just a rehash of the "evil Justice League" story from the Justice League animated show, which I'm sure is a rehash of another story from the comics. So the most basic criticism I can give the story is that it's been done before.
+RockLegend2 well yeah. Evil Superman is something that has been explored in one form or another. The cry me Syndicate, elseworld, the episode you mentioned, all have played with the premise. injustice just have done it in a bigger scale, and as you well mentioned, have done a great job in keeping the spirits of the characters accurate, giving Superman a genuine good reason to not just turn "evil", but to actually lose his mind. My point is that is kind of unfair to dislike a character for his actions in a storyline that has not actually happened in the mainstream universe.

Damian was a child, he ought to have known better, and he has to bear that. I sympathize with him, no one expected Dick to go in such a mundane way- accidentally, like any other human, but that's kind of the point. Ultimately it's Superman's fault for giving in to his darker impulses. I know the argument, but Joker won when he failed to rise above it. When the shining exemplar of all that is just and good goes on a killing spree, it's not surprising when the brash violent youths follow suit.
Yeah, the logic is pretty simple on this one. Ask any martial artist; You can't take back a strike once it's been made. This especially is true for all practitioners of weapons, particularly swordsman, archers, professional shooters, you name it... it's the first fundamental lesson you ever learn when practising these disciplines. You'd think an experienced fighter like Damien would've been told this over and over, he probably has been. But then again, Damien is who he is because that's his character; he's always quick to blame others and slide past responsibility.
Grayson was my favorite Robin. I have always loved the originals. I can't believe that the writers thought that killing Dick was a good idea, by Batman's own son of all people. Dick was trying to help Damain too. Damain was too overpowered to begin with. He was just asking to be hated. I can't even make the connection of how a loved superhero like Batman ended up with a son like that. In the end, I am on Batman's side.
Honestly though, Batman seems to lose everything time and time again. His parents, Jason Todd, Nightwing, sometimes even people like Catwoman. Kinda sad.

Those words from Batman. "You're dead to me." Just damn. Everytime I hear those words, I just think about everything that has happened to Batman in the Injustice comics & games. I feel so bad for him.
Same after everything he went through, I expected him to at least die saving someone he loves or go in a more badass kind of way...but instead a freak accident by Damien ends him? Well Dick is still human after all...it made sense how he died. It just kinda sucked he went like that.
Of all of the adopted sons of Bruce Wayne, Grayson was Damian's favorite... period. The reason the Injustice writers wrote the death of Grayson this way was to create a jarring moment between Damian and Bruce, as well as to fracture the paternal bond. Damian taking on the Nightwing mantle after the accidental death of Grayson, by his own hand, is a coping mechanisms for his guilt. You can tell by the way he speaks in the game he's looking for atonement. The hate this kid gets is similar to what I remember Jason use to get when he was Robin but the reasons are different for Damian. His arrogance, his sense of entitlement, the disregard of his father's moral code all push him away from what the ideal son should be for Bruce/Batman. The real problem with the readers is that they tend to ignore all the factors that make up Damian's behavior and how his relationships with the Bat family is molding him. Remember that he is 10 YEARS OLD, remember that he was raised by the LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS, remember that his only male influence before his introduction into the Bat family was RA'S AL GHUL, remember that his mother is TALIA AL GHUL. This kid's mind is warped from the get go. Even with that being the case, it's intriguing to see him deal with the conflict between his paternal and maternal houses. The easy way, a.k.a. lazy way, is to development the character to his doom or exile but the best way, in my opinion, would be for him to come into his own like Jason did. I wouldn't want him to splinter into another persona like Red Hood or Nightwing. It would make better sense for him to champion the Robin mantle because it holds the title of Prince to the Batman's King role of the family.
Primarily its to showcase they're still human in the end. The neck is a considerable weakspot for humans. Gouged, cut, choked, broken. Many characters have this fatal spot exposed and breaking it is a very tame, but horrific way of being killed.
Obviously, Damian would never harm Nightwing ... under less stressful situations, that is. As the Injustice comic shows, Damian was losing his temper and allowing his anger and frustrations to override his logic, the emotion was fueling him, making him completely and utterly careless. And considering this is Damian - raised for most of his childhood in a very bloody cult - he's had murderous tendencies and it seemed like they weren't entirely quelled in the Injustice Comic. He had stopped thinking clearly, and in response to Nightwing trying to calm him down, he regresses to VERY harmful means 'cause it's instinct. He kills Nightwing. And Damian saying, "I thought he would catch it," MEANS Damian throwing a dangerous baton at Nightwing WAS NOT an accident (only an ""accident"" in that Nightwing didn't catch it - Dick's fault), it was intentional ... and Nightwing catching it was not a guarantee, it was very poor judgment on Damian's part. As for him being remorseful, I believe he was truly, but unfortunately in Batman's eyes, killing the first son is (almost) unforgivable.

Nightwing would train Huntress and Canary is no where close to him as a fighter. Starfire has a different style as does Donna which is the point. Nightwing has learned from many different people.

Bruh, Dick Grayson is one of my favorite characters from the DC Universe, and seeing how Batman and Damian are both clearly devistated sucks so much. This is why I love comic books, they make you feel so many emotions 👍
This shows that family is not always determined by blood. Dick was adopted but was a much more appreciative and better son than Damian ever was in injustice.
It IS Damian's fault. But he's also... well... ten years old. Or was ten years old at the time. And he's Bruce's son. You can't just turn your back on your own son. But you also can't go around throwing steel rods at your step-brother. And that's the point. While the games were mostly portrayed black and white, the Injustice comics showed a more gray area. Batman surely is fighting in the name of freedom and what's normally considered "right" and "heroic" but he's also got his own imperfections and his sense of justice can be twisted at times. And he's never been that great of a father to his sons. Even Dick Grayson had ups and downs with him, and he was the favorite.

You missed a very important part. The reason Damian threw the stick at Dick is because when they train together, Dick always catches it when Damian tries to do that. But as this was a real fight, Dick was not prepared and Damian actually thought Dick would catch it instead of it hitting him. He never let this guilt go. This all leads to a separate story arch for Damian where he becomes the new Nightwing and is given the costume by Dick Grayson/Deadman.

In the canon comics, I don't hate Damian NOW, but in the Injustice universe, I despise him. Believe it or not, Damian HAS a heart. He just grew up in a way that made him seem like a brat. Yes! Someone who understands! I hated Damien in the beginning in the comics, but after Batman 'died' and Nightwing Nothing because Batman, taking Damien under his wing, I saw Damien begin to truly learn what being a Robin was all about. He grew into a more likable character with a great relationship with Dick. It warmed my heart.
I think it was Damian's fault. Regardless if he thinks it was an accident or not, he still has always been resentful towards Dick, he let his temper get in the way of what's right and doing the right thing. And he threw a weapon at his own ally and step brother, and he did so intentionally, it doesn't matter if he thought Dick was going to dodge it, he should have known that Dick had his mind on other things and wouldn't be able to dodge his weapon like he has before. I don't care if Dick thinks it was an accident, and tells Bruce as such. To me, it's Damian's fault.

I wish people would make a video explaining how Dick Grayson came back as the new Dead Man and forgave Damian's actions. Earth 1 Damian is just as bad. When he was first introduced, he was a travesty of a character. He was a Mary-Sue 10 year old who could supposedly beat all of the Robins; that's a joke. Grant Morrison's writing is also terrible - he basically insinuated that Bruce got drugged and raped the night he and Talia made love.

One of Damian's flaws was he never seemed to get his anger in check, with that much rage and hatred in you're heart, it takes precedence over rationality. Yes it was still his fault that Nightwing died, but end of the situation it could have been avoided had Damian gotten the help he desperately needed

Would have honestly figured it would have been something along the lines of “Damien was blinded by rage and was about to drive his sword into a villains chest, but nightwing stepped in front of him hoping to stop him, but Damien didn’t and ran him through with the blade killing him and the villain”. Not him getting bonked on the head and falling and breaking his neck like that scene in scary movie 4.

Batman has always been someone with very little emotional reaction. Always calm and calculated. Some would say cold, but at the same time, trustworthy. There is always very rare occassions where Batman will let out his emotion, specifically sadness. Watching his adopted son killed by his biological son is one of them. Nightwing was the son he needed. He kept him grounded. Nightwing is one of the very few that can challenge Batman's action and make him rethink said action. Watching him get killed reverted Batman back to the emotions of when his parents were killed in front of him. It is a tragedy.

To me Damien is more of a danger than a threat. He obvously cannot control his temper and thinks he is better than most other people. I also agree that if you throw something at somebody, you are guilty of the consequences, no matter if they were intended or not. Every judge would say the same. It would be different to me, if Damien would be saying that he is sorry, but because he keeps saying that it was an accident makes me believe he doesn't truly understand what he has done or he simply doesn't care. He threw a stick made of solid steel at Dick, so it surprises me he didn't die instantly. Damien truly doesn't understands how emotions work. He killed someone who was both loved as son and lover and respected by others. To make up for that is very hard, but if you keep saying that it was an accident and don't even apologise, than it it impossible. To make up for it you would have to show true remorse, something Damien knows very little about.

I never liked Damian. One of the first Jason Todd stories I ever read had Jason possibly having pushed a rapist to his death when the law stated the man was untouchable due to diplomatic immunity. It was never implicitly stated if he did it or not. As a kid, I was shocked, but intrigued with where they'd take him as a character. Reading "A Death in the Family" was one of the most gut-wrenching and heart breaking comics I'd ever read. Jason, with all his flaws, was deeply human and cared deeply too; a lot of his anger and rebelliousness came out of having lost so much, living rough on the streets. He was complex.
Damian, on the other hand, is all entitlement and anger for the point of the writers wanting him to be edgier. He's a brat, and we're expected to cheer when some glimmer of humanity finally shines through. To compensate for his terrible personality, the writers write him as though he's an expert fighter that is possibly above par of the rest of the other Robin's, which is infuriating since Batman has defeated many of the League of Assassin's best fighters in hand to hand combat, (not easily, but he has), and has been the primary tutor for Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, and to an extent, Stephanie Brown, in martial arts. Compound this with the size, weight, and age advantage those Robins have and Damian's abilities fall clearly under Mary Sue territory, or "The writers wanted me to be a badass, so I am... deal with it".
Some people had a problem when they saw this version of Damian kill Dick through what could almost be interpreted as an accident. But I thought it fit perfectly. He's a shallow character, and in a moment of frustration, he does what Damian always does as an entitled, spoiled, tantrum ridden teen: he lashes out the people who care about him. Lets be clear: when you throw a dangerous weapon at someone with full force, you mean to cause them harm. "I thought they'd catch it" or "I thought they'd dodge" is pure denial of YOUR OWN inability to accept responsibility for your actions. That's pure Damian Wayne. 'It's DICK's fault, he didn't catch it like he was supposed to'.
I've seen some people feel sorry for him on their comments, which is ok. But Damian being sorry for what he did isn't the same as not being guilty for your actions. There's a lot of people locked up in jail who are sorry, but it doesn't change the crime they committed. Damian got off easy in my opinion; Batman has locked up people for a lot less than what Damian had done, sorry or not. Being disowned was almost a mercy.

I can really see where you're coming from. I, personally, was never sure what to think of Damian. As infuriating as he is, some parts of his character (or rather, the character development he experiences over time) have somewhat endeared him to me, but from all I know, your characterisation is spot-on.

Diana (Wonder Woman) was raised from birth in fighting also but can beat a guy like Superman understandable really but can also beat Batman who has learned multiple fighting styles and many other things. Would you say Diana's way of fighting is primitive but it's because she has fighting reflexes that let her win or just writers plot? I don't understand the depths of Wonder Woman and Batman because I've been reading comics only recently. So I thought I'd ask anyways.

Even aside from Damian being a constant pain in the ass, fighting Batman, and being the child of Talia's sick intentions, the fact that he killed Dick Grayson will forever make me hate this character.
Well, to be fair, in the main comics he has a better relationship with Nightwing than with Bruce. He actually dislikes Tim more. As for Injustice Nightwing becomes the new Deadman and actually forgives him, while Damian is having a difficult time deciding what he wants to be. Yet the current developments in the injustice storyline I think will take him until the point of no return that we see in th game, a deranged almost psychotic character, completely at odds with Batman.

Honestly, with everything that DC has been doing with its comic and movie properties for the last few years, I couldn't give half of a shit what they've come up with now. And that's no offense to you intended, DC's the one that's driving me nuts. All I know personally is that they presented Damian as the killer of Dick Grayson, and that's where I check out of that character.
Yeah, the new 52 was stupid but they are trying to fix that, although I am still conflicted about the latest twists. The films have been disappointing so far, i agree with that. Yet, injustice is not canon, just an alternate reality about what would happen if heroes decide to take their believes to the extreme, taking their inspiration from Superman. I really dislike Damian, Superman, Halloween Jordan, and specialy Wonder Woman from that reality, that doesn't mean that I translate those feelings to the same characters of the main stream universe. By the same token I like some characters in injustice, that I don't really care for in the mainstream universe. They are a different take of a known character where they are changed somewhat based on the events that transpired.

Fair enough. In Injustice, I do appreciate that Batman and Captain Marvel in the "bad Superman" universe continued to maintain a sense of justice and right by opposing Superman, despite varying amounts of success. I think those are two characters that should be unshakably moral good guys, and I would usually include Superman in that list, but the entire point of the story was to give a decent reason for Superman to become "evil".
The entirety of Injustice is basically just a rehash of the "evil Justice League" story from the Justice League animated show, which I'm sure is a rehash of another story from the comics. So the most basic criticism I can give the story is that it's been done before.
+RockLegend2 well yeah. Evil Superman is something that has been explored in one form or another. The cry me Syndicate, elseworld, the episode you mentioned, all have played with the premise. injustice just have done it in a bigger scale, and as you well mentioned, have done a great job in keeping the spirits of the characters accurate, giving Superman a genuine good reason to not just turn "evil", but to actually lose his mind. My point is that is kind of unfair to dislike a character for his actions in a storyline that has not actually happened in the mainstream universe.

Damian was a child, he ought to have known better, and he has to bear that. I sympathize with him, no one expected Dick to go in such a mundane way- accidentally, like any other human, but that's kind of the point. Ultimately it's Superman's fault for giving in to his darker impulses. I know the argument, but Joker won when he failed to rise above it. When the shining exemplar of all that is just and good goes on a killing spree, it's not surprising when the brash violent youths follow suit.

Yeah, the logic is pretty simple on this one. Ask any martial artist; You can't take back a strike once it's been made.
This especially is true for all practitioners of weapons, particularly swordsman, archers, professional shooters, you name it... it's the first fundamental lesson you ever learn when practising these disciplines.
You'd think an experienced fighter like Damien would've been told this over and over, he probably has been. But then again, Damien is who he is because that's his character; he's always quick to blame others and slide past responsibility.
Grayson was my favorite Robin. I have always loved the originals. I can't believe that the writers thought that killing Dick was a good idea, by Batman's own son of all people. Dick was trying to help Damain too. Damain was too overpowered to begin with. He was just asking to be hated. I can't even make the connection of how a loved superhero like Batman ended up with a son like that. In the end, I am on Batman's side.

Of all of the adopted sons of Bruce Wayne, Grayson was Damian's favorite... period. The reason the Injustice writers wrote the death of Grayson this way was to create a jarring moment between Damian and Bruce, as well as to fracture the paternal bond. Damian taking on the Nightwing mantle after the accidental death of Grayson, by his own hand, is a coping mechanisms for his guilt. You can tell by the way he speaks in the game he's looking for atonement. The hate this kid gets is similar to what I remember Jason use to get when he was Robin but the reasons are different for Damian. His arrogance, his sense of entitlement, the disregard of his father's moral code all push him away from what the ideal son should be for Bruce/Batman. The real problem with the readers is that they tend to ignore all the factors that make up Damian's behavior and how his relationships with the Bat family is molding him. Remember that he is 10 YEARS OLD, remember that he was raised by the LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS, remember that his only male influence before his introduction into the Bat family was RA'S AL GHUL, remember that his mother is TALIA AL GHUL. This kid's mind is warped from the get go. Even with that being the case, it's intriguing to see him deal with the conflict between his paternal and maternal houses. The easy way, a.k.a. lazy way, is to development the character to his doom or exile but the best way, in my opinion, would be for him to come into his own like Jason did. I wouldn't want him to splinter into another persona like Red Hood or Nightwing. It would make better sense for him to champion the Robin mantle because it holds the title of Prince to the Batman's King role of the family.

Primarily its to showcase they're still human in the end. The neck is a considerable weakspot for humans. Gouged, cut, choked, broken. Many characters have this fatal spot exposed and breaking it is a very tame, but horrific way of being killed.

As the Injustice comic shows, Damian was losing his temper and allowing his anger and frustrations to override his logic, the emotion was fueling him, making him completely and utterly careless. And considering this is Damian - raised for most of his childhood in a very bloody cult - he's had murderous tendencies and it seemed like they weren't entirely quelled in the Injustice Comic.
He had stopped thinking clearly, and in response to Nightwing trying to calm him down, he regresses to VERY harmful means 'cause it's instinct.
He kills Nightwing.
And Damian saying, "I thought he would catch it," MEANS Damian throwing a dangerous baton at Nightwing WAS NOT an accident (only an ""accident"" in that Nightwing didn't catch it - Dick's fault), it was intentional ... and Nightwing catching it was not a guarantee, it was very poor judgment on Damian's part.
As for him being remorseful, I believe he was truly, but unfortunately in Batman's eyes, killing the first son is (almost) unforgivable.

And that's the point. While the games were mostly portrayed black and white, the Injustice comics showed a more gray area. Batman surely is fighting in the name of freedom and what's normally considered "right" and "heroic" but he's also got his own imperfections and his sense of justice can be twisted at times.
And he's never been that great of a father to his sons. Even Dick Grayson had ups and downs with him, and he was the favorite.

You missed a very important part. The reason Damian threw the stick at Dick is because when they train together, Dick always catches it when Damian tries to do that. But as this was a real fight, Dick was not prepared and Damian actually thought Dick would catch it instead of it hitting him. He never let this guilt go. This all leads to a separate story arch for Damian where he becomes the new Nightwing and is given the costume by Dick Grayson/Deadman.

In the canon comics, I don't hate Damian NOW, but in the Injustice universe, I despise him. Believe it or not, Damian HAS a heart. He just grew up in a way that made him seem like a brat. Now, in the canon comics that is, he's a good kid (but still sometimes acts like a brat). In the Injustice universe however, he's just so angry and incredibly annoying :/

Yes! Someone who understands! I hated Damien in the beginning in the comics, but after Batman 'died' and Nightwing Nothing because Batman, taking Damien under his wing, I saw Damien begin to truly learn what being a Robin was all about. He grew into a more likable character with a great relationship with Dick. It warmed my heart.

I think it was Damian's fault. Regardless if he thinks it was an accident or not, he still has always been resentful towards Dick, he let his temper get in the way of what's right and doing the right thing.
And he threw a weapon at his own ally and step brother, and he did so intentionally, it doesn't matter if he thought Dick was going to dodge it, he should have known that Dick had his mind on other things and wouldn't be able to dodge his weapon like he has before.

I wish people would make a video explaining how Dick Grayson came back as the new Dead Man and forgave Damian's actions. All this blind hatred for Damian Wayne for a death that was so badly done is ridiculous. I didn't feel sad reading this in the comics at the time, I was pissed that DICK GRAYSON THE ACROBAT died by being hit with a baton and landing on a rock that just so happened to be where his neck was. That's not how Dick Grayson should have died, even if it was going to be by Damian's hands, it should have been a better death than that, something to actually warrant all this hate for Damian.

Earth 1 Damian is just as bad. When he was first introduced, he was a travesty of a character. He was a Mary-Sue 10 year old who could supposedly beat all of the Robins; that's a joke. Grant Morrison's writing is also terrible - he basically insinuated that Bruce got drugged and raped the night he and Talia made love.

Bruce treated Dick as a son because he could related to him. They both knew what it was like to lose parents. So Bruce took him in so he didn't go through the same pain growing up. And all those years would build memories and moments that are irreplaceable.

It shows how good a person nightwing is that even after Damian killed him, accidentally or not he still chose to watch over him after becoming the new dead man and wanted him to become the next nightwing even going as far as giving him his suit. Meanwhile Bruce couldn't even bring himself to forgive Damian.

One of Damian's flaws was he never seemed to get his anger in check, with that much rage and hatred in you're heart, it takes precedence over rationality. Yes it was still his fault that Nightwing died, but end of the situation it could have been avoided had Damian gotten the help he desperately needed

I kinda weird way for him to die. Would have honestly figured it would have been something along the lines of “Damien was blinded by rage and was about to drive his sword into a villains chest, but nightwing stepped in front of him hoping to stop him, but Damien didn’t and ran him through with the blade killing him and the villain”. Not him getting bonked on the head and falling and breaking his neck like that scene in scary movie 4.

It was an accident. It was still Damian's fault. He has always wanted the respect of Bruce, and to be accepted as his son. I know Bruce knew it was an accident, but primordial anger and grief took hold, and he will never forgive.
haven't read the comics but at 5:02 you could see the fight stop and the criminals stand off to the side as if they're mourning. nightwing must have that amount of respect
