First listened to this song around the same time I was re-watching Band of Brothers. The connection between the lyrics and the scenes of Easy company battling in Bastogne and Foy is just amazing. I'm loving the whole album, but so far this song is my favorite.
Pinned down, can't stop the ringing in my ears And now my eyes sealed shut with blood Burning lungs with a gasp for air Black smoke and scarlet mud "Up the hill, boys, up the hill!" The captain shouts the order "Up the hill, boys, up the hill!" Like lambs into the slaughter I'll write and let you know When the boys are coming home I'll write you should I see the morning light Through these iron sights I was strapped in the cabin of a Cobra King When we circled on Bastogne Screaming hell from a 43 Drew bloodstains through the snow "Up the hill, boys, up the hill!" The captain shouts another "Up the hill, boys, up the hill!" They're screamin' for their mothers I'll write and let you know When the boys are coming home I'll write you should I see the morning light Through these iron sights
Whoa! This honestly sounds like something that the Dreadnoughts would do! Considering you guys and the dreadnoughts are my two favorite bands I would dare say that's awesome!
Through these two tracks in this order seems we find this album masterpieces, first place- "Naysayers' , second "Through these Iron Sights . They kick ass.
That's an awesome cd lads! Enjoyed every second of it!!! And if you allow me to say as a Greek fella, I dare say it captures the essence of the revolution that took place 200 years ago in a better way than anything commemorations prepared by the Greek government...
reminds me a lot of corb lund for some reason. you know I hear irish-american inspired punk and think federicksburg for some reason. then I remember australia and think galipoli. then i hear snow and bastogne. so which is it? hamburger hill?
Ever since I read this comment, I've been listening to Corb Lund's Horse Soldier, Horse Soldier album on repeat. Thanks for that rec! The song is based in the Battle of the Bulge, but holy shit do the 'up the hill' lines relate to Hamburger Hill!

Yeah! Would fit right in the Foreign Skies. It's one of the best tracks of Hestia.
