"This ain't a love song. This a song about loving yourself. This ain't a song for the radio, it's a song for you when you feel nothing could help" love y'all keep pushing forward, stay healthy, keep your minds sharp. thanks for another banger video Tom.
J. Cole was my first ever rap concert, started listening to him when I started sharing my brothers Spotify and it really started it al for my involvement in modern hip hop. This song was amazing live and is always great to return to compared to the deep drama of today’s new biggest artists like juice X and Peep. I need music that represents the tough and negative emotions but I also need music for the peace and humble appreciation
I'm not sure what you mean about juice X and peep? They are great artists but all three are unfortunately deceased. I would say some of the newer mental health related artists are people like $B, Denzel, etc. Just interested to hear your opinion :)
@@jordanlee5594 yeah but some ppl just want to hate on PEEP, X AND JUICE WRLD FOR NO REASON... THESE HATERS GOT NO RESPECT AND CAN'T LET THIS LEGENDS REST IN PEACE 🙄😔😔🤦
Do more J Cole !!! Do these songs by him “Lost Ones”, “crooked smile”, & “Wet Dreamz”! Please I strongly recommend these I always tune in to your reactions and I’ll be super excited for those! Also if u could do Eminem “Beautiful” would be great as well! Peace & love all the way from Fresno California!
This was great Tom. Love your calm energy. J. Cole had a huge impact on my life and songs like this are the reason. Glad to be reminded of this song and this message.
“Life may suck at times, people may suck and experiences may suck, but we have the opportunity to appreciate the life and breath we’ve been given.” Wow thank you so much Tom, stumbled upon your videos recently and this stuck with me. I hope you’re doing great! Thank you again.
Great reaction once again Tom. I suggest Lost Ones-J-Cole. It’s him going back and forth about getting his girlfriend pregnant (hypothetically) and talking about abortion because of how young and unprepared they were. He raps as the dude and his point of view and as his girl in the second verse disputing his point. Edit: this almost sounded like the live version, anyone know? You can hear his emotion heavy in this one.
J Cole has some other great songs that are worth reacting to -Power Trip -She Knows -Crooked Smile -Wet Dreamz -No Role Modelz -Apparently -In the Morning -Workout
Common - Its Your World Common - Love Is.. Two amazing tracks, lyrically beautiful and a little more complex. Production done by the legendary J Dilla on both tracks. Two beautiful tracks you should definitely react to!

This is a great reaction video! I'm so glad you did this song. J Cole is one of the really good rappers that is out right now along with Kendrick Lamar. I really appreciate you being a therapist and getting your perspective on this song. You did great!!! You get a thousand cool points for this 😁😁👍
woke up feeling like shit today. Best thing I did was click on this video. Thank you Tom and Cole for reminding me there's no such thing as a life that's better than mine.
Yesssss let’s get some more j cole on this channel he’s immensely talented and has so many good story-telling songs. you should react to lost ones & 4 your eyes only two amazing pieces of art!
Its so awesome to see an older white guy listening to conscious hip hop and saying yep, yep, yeaaaa. J. Cole follows and is maintaining the real movement of hip hop the originators intended it to be. Most American music started out as Black Gospel and Blues as a residual effect of slavery and was meant to empower and free the mentality of inferiority of their people. Theres a message and certain words and phrases you can trace back all the way to “Didn’t it rain” by Sister Rosetta Tharpe and before. Now the rain is gone and every generation since then a few very special artist crawl out the mud and deliver that beautiful message like J Cole does
I think what he's trying to say is that no matter how much you have take a second and appreciate it there will always be someone in a better and in a worse condition so take a break from thinking of a better Life and appreciate what you got because nothing lasts forever 💜
Doctor please react to Kendrick's Sing About Me I'm Dying Of Thirst and you'll get why he is a Pulitzer price winner or J Cole's 4 Your Eyes only. Both very mature songs with great storytelling
You love addiction and the topic of addiction so much, you need to do some songs from Macklemore. Not his pop-radio songs, but his darker songs. They're some of the most vivid and well-written songs about addiction you'll ever find. I can't recommend "Otherside" by him enough, as well as "Starting Over" which is a sequel to Otherside about his relapse. "Neon Cathedral" is another where he talks about alcoholism in a super creative way that plays off religion and the bar being his church, hence the name Neon Cathedral. It doesn't stop there, he has plenty more like "Kevin" and "Drug Dealer" that tackle opioid addiction. He's just an unbelievably underrated artist because of the reputation his radio songs have given him, but he's so insanely talented when he tells a story and very few people seem to hear that side of his music. From addiction, to making a song for his daughter when she was born, to criticizing his experience with the Grammys, he is full of deep, story-driven songs that few people seem to have had the opportunity to appreciate.
8:43 always gon be a whip better than the one you got “yup” Always gon be some clothes fresher than the ones you rock “yup” Always gon be a bitch that’s badder out there on the tours “yup👀” 😅
you should check out the BTS album Map Of The Soul 7 - they wrote the whole album based on the works of Carl Jung. For example, their 3 rappers each have a solo song in that album, presenting different Jungian themes - Persona by RM, Shadow by Suga, and Ego by J-Hope. Besides that album, a lot of BTS's other songs talk about mental health, self love and healing. Their 3 rappers are the primary songwriters and producers for BTS. They study a lot of psychology, philosophy, art, literature, etc. Their 3 rappers also each wrote and produced their own rap solo mixtapes. One of the rappers Suga in particular has gone through a lot of mental health struggle like severe depression, social phobia and suicidal thoughts. He addresses this in some of this songs, like The Last. He goes by the alter ego Agust D for his mixtape work. BTS also made their own rendition of Born Sinner by J Cole, their version is called Born Singer. It's a rap-heavy song of theirs, like 80% rapping. No music vid, but here is a live performance: ruclips.net/video/8cUQ3lF3_O8/видео.html Their rappers RM and Suga have also collab-ed with Juice Wrld before. Check out "All Night" and "Girl Of My Dreams".
could you do a breakdown of “someone like you” by mac miller. it has so much content. a lot of different emotions and feeling mac is working through in the song. i think it would make for a solid breakdown. honestly any mac song would be a great breakdown. definitely check out “someone like you”
You should react to agony by yung lean. It’s such and amazing and beautiful song with lyrics that I think are pretty hard hitting. And the beat is just so beautiful with the piano playing in the background. And a other similar song would be hotel in Minsk by jonatan leandoer127. It’s by the same artist but just with a name change. But other than that love the content you put out.
