as a Libyan who's traveled to Tunisia multiple times I can tell you it's an amazing country with a wonderful culture and even more wonderful people. I hope everyone gets the chance to experience this beautiful country.
Nice! Does Libya have any similarities to both Tunisia and Morocco? Or is it completely different?
@ i’d say it has more similarities to Tunisia than Morocco, especially the food, and their dialect (minus the French). Also the old city in Tripoli is very similar to the Old city in Tunis.
Can tourists visit there right now?
@ I think it's possible but you'd have to be with the tour guide and a couple security guards at pretty much all times. Things are certainly getting better though so maybe in a few years safety concerns will go away and it'll be much easier for tourist to visit. I live abroad now but if you ever end up going to Libya feel free to reach out, I know many people in Tripoli who would be more than happy to show you around and take you to the best spots!
I was in Tunis last year, really a different culture and very interesting! Go to Djerba!!
We loved Tunisia when we travelled there. We visited january 2015 and loved it. We did a brilliant wine tour trip, the star wars desert trip and the amazing carthage. We were devastated later that year the horrific shootings happened especially for the tunisian people as they're so lovely. We're hoping to return again soon.
So much history there. Im always interested with the history of Carthage vs the Roman Empire. Thank you for the video! Cheers from NYC! 🎉
history of Carthage
ruclips.net/video/pYqU5Ul_GRc/видео.html
@ thank you 😊
❤
You gotta come visit !❤
Rome copied everything Carthaginian and adopted it. Which is not a bad thing, shows boldness and wisdom. The aqueducts were Carthaginian as with most colosseums. Also the art left in New Carthage (Cartagena) is impressive. Greetings from Carthage🎉
The turkish coffee in Tunisia is locally called "Arabic Coffee", the water you put on the coffee is actually rose water, to flavor it.
Thanks for the info, we need to try it next time :D
Mozzarella is also called "Arabic mozzarella"
I tried making some and i just didn't like it much. The cardamom taste is too strong for me 😢
In Tunisia we know it as Arabic coffee, meaning coffee made in the traditional way (the word Arabic in Tunisia means traditional or made in an old way) and we do not mean the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula and the Turks took it from us and since most tourists go to Turkey and Turkey also contributed to spreading it in European countries, this coffee is known as Turkish but it is originally Tunisian, especially since we only put orange blossom water or rose water on it to flavor it.
It's usually called "Arabic coffee" beacuse "boiled coffee" was firstly appeard in the arabic golf, starting from Yemen then saudi arabia, even if it become famous under the turkish flag. Both appellation are used in Tunisia. The "arabic" is usually describing homemade product in tunisian dialect. ''Arabic mozzarella' means homemade one, it should not be comparaed to the original mozarella with ingredients coming from the country it appears. I hope you enjoyed your journey in Tunisia.
I always look forward to your videos. So happy you went to Tunisia. Very beautiful country!
Thanks! Tunisia is definitely worth a visit!
What a fabulous and interesting place! Love all the ruins and artwork! Many songs written about. "Night in Tunisia". Enjoy! 😊
Heyyyy, Tunisian living abroad here! 👋
Born and raised in Mahdia, so I have to recommend it!
You should check out the old Medina, Skifa Kahla (the grand entrance gate), the Bordj el Kebir fortress, and the historic port area. The whole place has a unique charm!
Along with Sousse and Monastir, all of them incredible coastal vibes, beautiful beaches, and a lot of history.
If you’re up for more adventure, the south is amazing too-especially Tozeur, with its unexpected landscapes and stunning oases. Just a heads-up: winter is the best time to visit, because summer can get unbelievably hot
we will have videos coming from sousse and tozeur :D
Half Maltese and half Tunisian here! Last year or so, you were in Malta, now across the sea. Great to see you in Tunisia! Underrated gem of the Mediterranean :)
Definitely underrated!

Finally guys! I have been following you since the beginning and waiting for the Tunisia episodes! Have a nice time in my country!
Loving it here!
Fantastic video, I had no idea that Tunisia contained so much for the visitor to experience. The intricate and varied architectural features in the Medina area were stunning. Then so surprised by your exploration of the very spread out ruins of the ancient city of Carthage. Rainbow shot was beautiful. Thanks for continuing your journeys and sharing them.❤
There are many more amazing things coming in the next videos from this country :D
I went to Tunisia in 1970 so was very interested in watching your post I remember the Medina which we went to a couple of times. The other thing I remember was how beautiful the weather was we had been in the UK with their legendary grey skies and rain so this was most welcome. We also were very pleased how friendly the people were. The other thing I will mention is how strong your Northern English accent is Chris given that you don’t appear to spend any time in the UK.Great video always look forward to watching your videos.
I loved my visit to Tunisia last year. Carthage is fascinating and you will love El Jem - it is stunning and extremely well preserved. I highly recommend visiting Dougga for more impressive Roman ruins.
I'm thinking of going back to Tunisia later this year - I found the country much more laid back than Morocco and less hassle for tourists and very cheap !
Enjoy guys 😊
We will have a video coming soon where we visit El Jem, truly spectacular!
We were on holiday with my mother in Tunisia, staying in Sousse, with a few trips-Cartage,Port El Kantaoui ,Sidi Bou Said etc.Thank you,Chris and Carol for reminding me of those places with your video.👍🙏❤
Cool! We have videos coming up from Sidi Bou Said and Sousse also :D
@@JumpingPlaces Oh,that,s great!!Iam looking forward to it!😊
Thank You Chris & Carol for Another Amazing and Very Beautiful Adventure in Tunisia🙂💙👍Safe Travels 👍
Forgot also to mention that winter is the perfect season to visit the south! I hope you’ve planned a trip to Tataouine, where you can explore its stunning ksours (fortified granaries) and Berber villages like Chenini and Douiret, with their horizontal troglodyte homes. Don’t miss Matmata and its vertical troglodyte dwellings, Tozeur with its oases and canyons, the desert of Douz, and Djerba Island, known for its unique architecture and beautiful beaches.
Enjoy the rest of your trip ❤️🇹🇳
Congratulations on your new country, Chris and Carol!
Thanks! It’s been an amazing experience.
That rainbow 🌈 shot is breathtaking.
Timing please 🙏🏿😊
Lovely weather and friendly people ❤

2 of my favorite RUclips channels are currently in Tunisia and both visited the same restaurant too. What a coincidence!!!😅
Nice! Who is the other?
@ Sly’s Life is his channel
What a thoughtful man helping you& Carol out with a taxi
Beautiful, very informative!
Hoping to see you exploring deeper into Africa!
Regarding the coffee pots, they cook the coffee in those pots, same in Turkiye, Greece and other countries!
So much history, Chris and Carol thank you for explaining
You’re welcome! 😊
Welcome to my country and hope you guys enjoying your time and have fun
And next time you visit the capital, make sure to stop by La Goulette for some of the best fresh seafood at very affordable prices.
Don’t also hesitate to explore deeper into the Medina to discover historical and artistic landmarks, such as the old religious schools (medersas) like Slimania and El Bachia, as well as palaces and traditional houses (dars) like Palais Kheireddine, Dar Lasram, Dar Hssine, and Dar Ben Abdallah. You can also visit beautiful zaouias (Sufi shrines) like Sidi Mehrez and Sidi Kacem Jelizi...
Enjoy your trip ❤️
Hi guys 😊
Glad to hear you're enjoying your trip to our beautiful country !
What makes Tunisia truly special is its incredible diversity from north to south, the country offers a stunning variety of landscapes. This richness extends to its history, shaped by over 3,000 years of civilizations-from the Phoenicians and Romans to the Arabs and Ottomans-each leaving behind a unique cultural legacy
We’re looking forward to exploring those different regions!
You traveled so many different places over the years, Chris and Carol!
Thank You so much for all your inspiring, informative and beautiful videos. We enjoy seeing you guys so much!
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
It looks so green..so beautiful! Definitely on the bucket list!
GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.
Watching from Lapulapu City, The Philippines..
Good day Chris and Carol.wow, another beautiful adventure…Tunisia. Thank you so much for sharing.😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
The white and blue colors are a well-known Tunisian architectural characteristic. If you ask any Maghrebi or Arab, he will associate these colors with Tunisia, but Essaouira has recently adopted them. As for history, many Moroccan cities were founded by Tunisians, for example, Fez, Marrakesh, and Al-Qarawiyyin were founded by Tunisians in the Islamic period, and Tangier, Volubilis, and other cities were founded by the Carthaginians.
Tunisia has the richest history in all maghreb. Please make sure to have the right informations. We surely have a very close history with morocco but not the same anciant one.
Tunisia is the oldest country in the Maghreb !
@@WafikNafti write on google tunisia"s history or morocco 's history and immidiately you'll have answers
Welcome to tunisia 🇹🇳🇹🇳🏝🏝🏖🏖🥰🥰🏜🏜🎄🎄💥🥤🥤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🏞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
You guys have a good sense of beauty you can tell that from the filming
Great video. Love seeing the historic sites.
Thanks! We love exploring the history of these places.
From Algeria , 1 2 3 viva Tunisia
Nice way to start the morning … ☕️
Thanks for watching! 😊
Hey guys! My husband and I have been watching your videos for more than 2 years now! We visited some places in Thailand thanks to you! And we are so happy that you are in our hometown, Tunis! Now, we live in Toronto, so if you come here, we would love to see you! If you are going to Hammamet Tunisia, we would love to offer you our vacation apartment in Marina Yasmine Hammamet to stay in!!
Thanks for the offer! We had already visited Hammamet though before you mention this :/ Video coming soon though!
Luv it when you talk history, Chris!
As George Santayana said “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it “
My wife's parents visit Tunisia often. Love the place. Enjoy
Great video guys! Lots of info and great shots, really enjoyed it
Video came at the right time. thanks for the laidback vibes and chill video music . much love
We are so glad you enjoyed it!
hope you enjoyed it guys
Sure did!
The appetitzer you had with the harissa is called salade houriya (made of carrot not pumpkin). And what was served with the fish is kefteji which is potato, tomato, pepper, pumpkin and eggs mixed together in olive oil and spices.
The triangle deep fried appetitzer is pronounced Breek. (Written brik, because they all will read it the french way stressing on the I )
Thanks for the corrections! We're learning as we go. :D
@@JumpingPlaces my pleasure, and happy to translate more or explain few things you aren't familiar with. Tunisian cuisine is so underrated and there is more gems that you only will find when you go in homes and from the locals, every city has its own differences in term of food and even dialect. glad you enjoyed the trip and loved the video
You've been traveling full time, Chris and Carol!
I didn't know Tunisia was beautiful and safe. Thank you
It sure is :D
Make sure to visit Bardo museum in Tunis, it has one of largest mosaic collections in the world
It was closed the day we visited :(
Love your videos, and Carol, your hair is so beautiful!
Absolutely fascinating. I can’t believe i missed some of these spots
This video is amazing 😍🇹🇳🙏🏻
Welcome to Tunisia
It is obvious that there is a lot of debate about historic facts arround Tunisian Identity, convergence and diversity, politics are also shaped by such narratives, manipulations can get in the way towards finding objective truths, history still needs objective truths, the local cultures are preserving hints and slices of such truths, and there is a wide national orientation towards preserving ancestry cultures and accomodating them with modernity.. best of luck for your next videos 🎉
All the ancient mosaics and more recent tile work are beautiful.
They really are!
Human history so driven by greed and hate... thanks for the tour and history of conquest ....🙋🏼♂️🙋♀️🇨🇦❤️
Wow, very impressed with Carthage. Amazing history and ruins. 👍😊🇮🇪💙🇹🇳
We agree!
Welcome to Tunisia 🇹🇳
You're really cool people 😊.. and your wife is very respectable. I like your spontaneous way of filming around.
That rose water sprayer is a beautiful artefact, and you find it in every Cafe.. don't put too much of it in the coffee unless you want it bitter 😊.
Like how the wife took the whole Brik for herself..❤
Fascinating! I’ve been interested in Tunisia because it’s close to Sicily where we like to go. Really good the way you guys explained the history including the maps.
we definitely need to go to sicily, done Malta and now Tunisia so close
Congratulations on getting new sponsors. U deserve it
I'm from Malta a few hundred kilometres away, was very curious about Tunisia, never been but want to visit! Looks like paradise!
Would be cool if they had a ferry like they do to Sicily, wonder if there is any direct transport?
@@JumpingPlacesYes that would be cool, but it will never happen.
We've got to urgently fix a collapsing infrustrucure due to the immense importation of foreign (asian) workers to work in newly built hotels, construction and health sector 😬... They said they are working to create ferry services from one seaside locality to another ex Valletta to Buġibba, we'll se how it goes...
Amazing video thank you for the chill, amazing tour that didn't spare details!!
If you're really into history, then the Bardo Museum is a must! It has the world's largest collection of Mosaic and they are really old and well preserved! I think you'd enjoy it 😊😊
Enjoy your time in Tunisia!!
Thanks for the tips!
Chris and Carol great price for your meals. A lot of food that looks delicious! I’m not too crazy about spicy foods lol very dark coffee
Welcome to tunisia 🇹🇳
I feel the same way about ruins and architecture. That place looks so interesting and impressive. Tunisia seems quite calm and clean. 😊
Tunisia is a very peaceful and welcoming country :D
The mausoleum Torbet el Bey houses the tombs of several Husainid beys (rulers), their families, and high-ranking officials.
Welcome to Tunisia this weekend in great joy & peace North Africa to shows those amazing places in peace February of 2025❤❤❤Thanks you guys so much for your amazing video today’s in peace 2025❤❤❤

Such a beautiful, great country! 😍🥰🥰🥰😍
We agree!
I really enjoyed viewing. Such a cool restaurant and bird sounds. ❤
But the birds in the restaurant were in a cage 😢
Thanks for sharing this video with us
You bet!
Shout out to Mohammed for his act of kindness. Makes your day when locals stop to help. World peace begins with people like Mohammed.
Definitely :)
Wow! Excellent stuff! Thanks for sharing your adventures to places I'll never see. Your presentation and information is spot on. Cinematography is very engaging. If I spot of interest, I just hit pause. Looking forward to future episodes.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, more coming soon!
Beautiful tour..different from other vlogs i have seen of tunisia. Great historical wandering tour. Definitely part of the ancient world that was fought over many times. Zaytuna means olive in arabic and of course they are famous for their olive oil as is morocco😊.
Мне очень понравилось в Дузе это въезд в пустыню Сахара 🎉! Сейчас самое время для трэвел путешествия в Сахару удивительное место на земле! Там явно потеплее 😊!
I believe the Royal Victoria is the former British Embassy.
Love following your adventures.
i think you are right :D
I can't believe how close you were to my Hotel in LA Marsa, the Plaza-Corniche Hotel a few blocks from where you were staying. Enjoy your time.
Nice! When were you there?
Away from Wikipedia, Carthage was founded around 1300 BC according to history books, according to Sallust and many historians. As for Phoenicia, it is just a myth. There is no archaeological trace of a Phoenician people. Rather, what the Greeks meant by Phoenician was dates or the red color before the distortion of the history of Carthage.
👍👍👍
TUNISIA is the gateway to Africa because its ancient name was “IFRIQUIA” (which meant “the key” or “the head”).
On the other hand "RAS ENGELA" (in Bizerte Tunisia) In 2014, it is designated as the northernmost point of continental Africa2, the southernmost point being Cape Agulhas, South Africa.
and it is through it that the various ancient civilizations that Africa has known such as the Cartaginians entered. the Romans..spanish ottomans...the Muslims.
The first Muslim city built in North Africa is KAIROUAN built in 670 BC from which the conquests of the rest of North Africa and Andalusia were launched. and it remained the capital for a long time. and in which the 4th oldest and venerated mosque in the Arab world was built after LA QUAABA MEDINE AND EL AQSA.
then we have TUNIS medina built in 698 AD with the great ZEYTOUNA mosque" in which was built "The ZEYTOUNA University" which was classified by the University of OXFORD" as the oldest faculty in the world. dating from 737 AD
while the University of QUAROUNAIS in Morocco was built in 859 by "FATMA EL FEHRYA
"princess from Kairouan in TUNISIA
.......
Crazy that neighbouring countries have such different spice levels! I think they were both French colonies, so that doesn't explain it...nice place, cheers guys!
The Zeytouna mosque is also the oldest university in the whole world 😊😊 traditionnally mosques were not jusy place of worship but also of education
Awesome
Next stop bardo museum ❤ the biggest mosaic collection in the world
Never heard about this place, but very beautiful ❤️ , always ❤️ watching you guys.
Tunisia is definitely worth a visit!
Welcome! been a subscriber for a long time
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Chris and Carol.
Can you please make a video about how you do the research on your destinations.
Where to visit and how get around?
Loving the music on these vids
Welcome to my country 🇹🇳🙏
Royal Victoria used to be the British Embassy. Tunisia seems like it would make a great home base to explore not only Tunisia proper, but Europe and the Middle East. (In effect, the Roman Empire.)
Very cool restaurant
