Kittie is a Metal group from Canada formed in 1996 by Singer/Guitarist Morgan Lander and her sister Mercedes Lander (who is the drummer) when they were in their young teen years. They got popular back in 1999 w/ their debut album release called "Spit" which blew up after the release of their first single "Brackish" which was written when they were 12 and 13. They were so fire back then that they were asked to co headline the 2nd stage at the Ozzfest festival back in 2000!!! The first album also produced the hits "Charlotte" and "Paperdoll". The last album released before their hiatus was in 2011 called "I've Failed You". There is a documentary on RUclips you can watch called "Kittie Evolutions and Origins" that goes through their whole story including the ups and mostly downs of their career from line up changes in the band to the death of their Father who was also their manager to lawsuits against their record label and acquiescing to a record producer who made them put out a more commercial sounding album which the fans didn't like too much, although I personally still liked it very much.
So this one is actually the 5th single released from their NEW album "FIRE" released on Sumerian Records after a whole 13 years hiatus!!!! The first 4 singles are: "Eyes Wide Open" (the HEAVIEST one, groove metal w/ death metal vocals), "We Are Shadows" showcases Morgan's clean vocals w/ some harsh thrown in and musically has an old-school Kitie Nu Metal vibe! "Vultures" is another heavy one w/ mostly harsh vocals and clean vocals on the chorus. The 4th single is probably the most commercial sounding single, definitely written to be on the radio and has an anthemic chorus which will go REALLY good when performed LIVE!!! I really really hope you react to the first 4 singles!!! I just got my Fire CD and Kittie T shirt from Sumerian Records merchandise delivered!!! The WHOLE album is SO GOOD!!!! In addition to the 5 singles I really like "I Still Wear This Crown" and "Grime"! These ladies rock HARD!!!!!

This album slams so hard, start to finish. Absolutely go buy it.

Definitely check out Vultures, Eyes Wide Open and We Are Shadows. One Foot In The Grave is the only one I'm kind of lukewarm on.
