Thank you for your answers to these questions. I'm wondering if you "fix" the areas of soft pastel, charcoal, and other materials that would lift off. Sometime I put a spot of cold wax or soft gel over the area, bit I'm interested to know if you do something so that it won't come off on fingers of a buyer.
I tried to enrol for your art group giving the firstmonthfree Discount, but it doesn't seem to have been accepted. Did I have to input my bank details in first?
This was enjoyable and informative. I have the Jakar compressed charcoal too... btw it's also available in different shades eg grey, brown. I love that painting behind you😊💜💫
Thank you, Lewis! I love your painting style, intuitive, emotional! Appreciate your tips and your mention of watercolors - glass or no glass. A couple of friends wax their WC paintings and mount onto a cradle board. Also framed like an oil. Seems to protect them and I like the look. I use water soluble/mixable oils so I haven’t tried the wax trick, but these two are professional artists and they’ve used it on many pieces over a number of years - I’ve had their watercolors in my galleries. I’d be interested in your thoughts.
Thank you, for all the info. If you work the underlayers with acrylic and the top layers with oils, when exhibiting do you have to describe your work as mixed media or can you say oils?
Thanks for posting this Q&A video. Sharing about your experience and what you have discovered is helpful and enjoyable to see. Yes, please do more when the time is right.
Thank you for the thoughts about working with mixed media. So generous. I really enjoy creating mixed media pieces as well. Glad to hear you are so occupied with such great things.
Yes this was helpful. I would definitely enjoy more videos like this. Thank you.
Wonderful video! Thank you. When you change to oil do you clear gesso the acrylic surface first?
I don't but I don't see why you shouldn't.

They do. I like to keep it simple so just use it for B&W sketching but I'm sure you can get interesting results with the different tones.
Love this video - very helpful to hear what types of materials and brands that you use (I am a beginner painting in acrylics) 😇

I usually say oil & mixed media. It’s accurate but who’s checking!
