Bowmar "Management Buck"= monster for most deer hunters. Congrats, enjoyed the video. Regarding the missed shot: this is why I went to a tactical turret-style scope with my .45 smokeless ML. I needed a scope that could handle a shot anywhere from 10yrds-300yrds, depending on the location I was hunting. As many, I simply did a lot of shooting to get those distances dialed in and when necessary, I turned the proper number of clicks to get the crosshairs on the deer. Most of my shots are under 100yrds, but they can be stretched way out there as well.
@@DrivenHunter I wasn't able to go a lot but I was lucky enough to get a nice 9 point that I hadn't seen on trail cam pics. He was the biggest Deer I've ever gotten and he field dressed at almost 200 lbs.
Not sure why most all you Iowa hunters don't switch to 450s, 350s? So much more accurate then muzzleloader's. I'm sure Iowas not MI though and you have to by law during "muzzleloader" MI they changed law... we can use are straight wall during "muzzleloader".
@@DrivenHunter I did to until they switched to straightwall is aloud during our "muzzleloader" season. Congrats on the deer. 200 yards is a chip shot with the 350s 450s though. I honestly wish they'd switch it back to muzzleloader only here in MI. New rules makes for a whole lot more in the woods !

When you use your bog pod and are ready to shoot, is your gun clamped in or do you just keep the clamp loose and set it on tripod for a rest?
Miss ] it happens w/ml. Congrats, well done ! Steve didn`t want to shoot ?
Hey thanks so much!! Yes it sure does! Steve had a doe tag and harvested a doe for meat!!
Dreaming in Pa. , well done great animals…
Thanks!! Hope you have hunted Iowa or get the chance too!
Good hunt. May I ask what all you carry in your backpack for an afternoon hunt from a blind?
What bullet / powder combo were you using?
I hate it when guys said "I gotta get it done tonight." Like its a job.

We've used muzzleloaders for many years and love to hunt with them! Part of our childhood!
