There is a difference between 'Military' & "Militant". Military is a professional Government legitimate Force. Militants are people who illegitimately pick up weapon against a country or a Group of people.

He's Retired colonel bro, 20.5 years of service is above average service for anyone specially OTA is for Short Service commission 10+4 years and he was amongst 10% retained for permanent so he gave his fair share in the Indian Army.
