- Japan beating South Africa in the dying minutes of the game. Resulting in one of the greatest shocks in world cup history.
Footage is from the fanzone in Richmond Old Deer Park, in London. Caught was the true jubilation of the Japanese fans as they beat the Springbox, as well as the admiration from spectators all around the world as they went to congratulate the Japanese fans on their victory.
Footage shot and belongs to Charlie Richardson.
I have a lot of rugby memories but, Japan's victory over South Africa that day is my favourite. It does a lifelong rugby fan proud to see all these supporters come and congratulate the Japanese fans on that historic moment.
Ranks in my top Rugby moments of all time, no team ever came out and announced their arrival as a heavyweight force to be reckoned with the way Japan did that day. They quickly cemented their place as every Rugby fan's #2 team through their tenacity and exciting style of playing.
日本人として、イギリスに見に行ってたというのが凄いよ。俺はニュージーランドに100点差で負けた試合を見てた世代だが、この試合の時はそもそも家で寝てたもの。カミさんに早朝「ラグビーで南アフリカと試合したんだけど」と言われて寝ぼけ眼で「知ってるよ。難点差で負けたの？50点以内になったの？」と聞いて、「勝って。騒ぎになってるよ」と聞いて、飛び起きた人だから。
6年前のことなのに、昨日のことのように泣ける。
試合後に南アフリカの選手達が日本選手におめでとう！と声を掛けていたそうで
ラグビー選手の敬意とスポーツマンシップに感動しました
またラグビーファンも選手同様に熱く敬意を持っていて感動しました
ラグビーって凄いですね 熱い！！！
こういう素敵なお手本が、RWC 2019の成功に繋がったよね。ありがとう。

ちょうど3000いいね！(just 3000th fav）目を押すことができました。ここまで1勝しかしていない弱小国が超強国を倒す痛快さをみんなで分かち合っていて、祝福を受け、当の南アフリカファンも祝福しているのが胸熱です。当時「ボクスに勝つ宣言？何言ってんだ？」とあきらめきっていた私も頬をはたかれたような気持ちでしたし、BBCがスポーツ史上最大の番狂わせとしてトップニュースにしたのも忘れられない。
