Mozart terminò di scrivere il brano a Vienna, il 10 agosto 1787, anno tra i più operosi della sua vita, poco prima di partire per Praga dove avrebbe completato il "Don Giovanni".
Originariamente la serenata comprendeva due minuetti di cui il primo, perduto, si collocava tra l'allegro del primo movimento e la romanza come risulta dal Catalogo Tematico che Mozart iniziò a compilare a partire dal febbraio 1784:

La composizione si presenta oggi con soli quattro movimenti e rientra in questo modo nel canone della sinfonia viennese. [da it.wikipedia.o...],
Non si sa perché e per chi Mozart avesse scritto questo brano nato circa due mesi dopo un'altra pagina appartenente al genere del divertimento e della serenata ("Musikalischer Spass"), del quale pure non conosciamo occasione e destinatario, e cinque anni dopo la Serenata in Do minore KV 388.

I listened this mozarts music so much during my childhood, especially to this piece. As it often is in life as well as music, after a period of exploration, where I listened to more modern music I am now once again listening to mozart. This man just had a musical intuition unlike anyone.
Me too. I still had the CD (mozart, chopin, vivaldi, beethoven, bach and tchaikovsky album set) and my most favourite of mozart music is Serenade no.10 in B-Flat major
The melody starting at 12:52 is one of the most beautiful ones ever written IMO
It is rare for a piece that all of the movements are famous. And this is one of the legendary pieces!

How nice to listen to this after a lengthy period of abstinence. Originally coming from Austria,
where it is naturally "overplayed", it was good to take a little break from it. Now it crossed my
path and I am enjoying this lovely rendition with "The Academy" under Sir Marriner very much.

My mother used to listen to this piece a lot while pregnant with me. I did not know and when we talked about Mozart at school, being impressed with this piece, I looked through her vinyl records and found it.
When it started playing, my mother came and told me, that this was the piece she‘d always listen to when pregnant with me

Исполнение хорошое, даже очень, на мой взгляд; видео автором подготовлено отлично - вообще без нареканий; ну а музыка - как можно не любить эту серенаду? Вы чё, народ, какие дизы то?! Cool. Der Abi-Jahrgang meiner Schwester hat 1984 dieses Stück in Schlafanzügen und mit Nachtmützen auf den Köpfen in der Aula bei der Abschlussfeier aufgeführt. War ein cooler Abi-Streich. Da sah ichs zum ersten Mal live und seitdem steh ich endgültig drauf.

It was Originally written for String Orchestra or String Quartet so it can be played both ways, really flexible this way
