While very nice, the lack of color is disappointing given Hawaiian culture is so vibrant. I also miss some of the darker wood tones. Life is colorful!
Thanks for the tour, Jason. I think this room is really pretty. It's got some unique furniture pieces and the 3 dimensional art looks beautiful. I know everyone is going on and on about the lack of colour, but the beach has a pretty muted colour palette - sand and grass is beige, sea glass is light green, the water is light blue. It's not until you get under the water that you see bright colours. 🐠🦞🐬
Ah, beige. The unwanted stepchild of the color wheel.
Island tower needs its own feature pool. The volcano pool cannot handle the amount of extra guests from this massive tower, knowing that it already can barely handle the existing Polynesian guests. Nobody is going to want to swim in that boring pool outside of the tower. One day there will be a virtual queue for the pool area!
i think it’s meant for snow birds. they only want a feature pool when grandkids visit
@@o_oo_o1812 It's a massive miss. If you are going to pay a $1,000 a night, you need more than just a rectangle of water.
@@thomaswynne3589 it's not a $1000, you pay with dvc points. which is a completely different type of human 🤷♂
@@thomaswynne3589 you pay with dvc points
It definitely looks like an airbnb i looked at in Destin Florida. Nothing that screams "Disney Imagineering" or "Disney design".
Wow much smaller kitchen than the old 1 bedrooms. Gonna miss the island!
What is disneys obsession with lack of color lately? The Polynesian is known for its colors and theming. This place looks like a dentists waiting room.
Agree 1000%
Oh stop whining, it's called style
@@zarajenkins6948the same kind of modern style you would look to find in any other resort, but for disney the standard is higher and people don’t want to stay in just a “nice resort” they want something that is uniquely and undeniably a work of disney imagineering
@zarajenkins6948 No it's called The Polynesian! Not Best Western! My apologies to Best Western!!!!!
@@zarajenkins6948 That is sure not Poly style. It’s like mid-west Days Inn style lol
I haven't seen this much beige since I bought my first PC back in the '90s. Also, where's the theming? I could hardly tell this is a Disney resort hotel.
The only redeeming quality is the location and the view. Otherwise I think this is a big miss.
Why is everything almost beige lol?! The Polynesian islands are known for their bright tropical colors not just beige. My guess is that Disney chose this color because it’s cheaper, easier to maintain and won’t look “dated” so fast.
Way too much beige for me. Thanks for the tour, Jason!
Love it! ❤️
What i don't understand is all that money and the pool doesn't even have a slide. And it's barely any theming. I will still to the wilderness Lodge. Paying that much money to get a view of the lagoon is just not worth it in my opinion. But maybe give it a try with a dvc rental.
There needed to be colorful Disney artwork in the bathroom, some more colorful decorations on the shelf in the living room by the tv. The pull down beds could have got fiber optic in the artwork like stars at night and a little shooting star every minute. Just some more colorful decorations Disney!
Beige, for a hotel room, how original
I like the room
Nothing says “Polynesian” like beige
I love watching hotel reviews of places I’ll never be able to afford. 💸
this looks like a condo in a retirement community. a snowbird would love this. i think disney does in fact cater to this demographic, but i never see them state it outright.
I think it’s lovely and relaxing. Those views are amazing! It will be very popular.
@@jodikydd Yes! If you like Ikea you'll love it!!!!!
@ Well it is a multimillion dollar business!
Love the funky mirrors. The shower walls look cool. Nice to see a little playfulness in the room.
My complaint and this is a general complaint of hotel rooms in general especially suites. What is up with no EVC parking space in the room. You can't charge them in the hall. It's tiresome tripping over them in the room. I have stayed at some awesome handicap accessible rooms with more than enough space to accommodate 2+ EVCs. I wish general rooms and suites had a bit more room to accommodate an EVC.
That’s a whole lot of sad, boring beige.
Yeah we as American have got to get away from beige and grey BRING BACK COLOR!
If you want neon colors head to all star resort
@@gabesmith9171 No just head across to the original Poly buildings and see what Polynesian culture is all about!!!!!
@@cindyandkurt Orange, Brown and Black. Those buildings aren't colorful.
I like the layout, especially that they’ve brought back two bathrooms. However given how washed out the walls, woodwork & flooring is they needed more color in the art pieces. It’s just kind of blah.
A bit too modernist for something that should have more earth tones…
Love this room...can't wait to stay there
@@rbazemore Saw one just like it on 192😂😂
It reminds me of a beach condo.
The views from the rooms on the other side of the building are of the monorail......💩😞
Yeah they didn’t let Tom show these rooms lol
Manta Ray = no stinger not dangerous - not a sting ray waiting to get you!
Super generic and boring. Could be a Marriot from the 80s in Miami ala golden girls. No discernible Disney theming at all. Who knew beige had so many hues.
I BR Villa. DVC doesn't have suites.
Can it get get anymore Beige!!!! Thought this was a tour of a econo lodge on 192!!!!!!!!
Not enough beige. Need more earth tones! :)
I thought that the apartments for love is blind needed to have solid drinkware not see-through. They’re gonna have to tell someone about the wrong glasses.
What????
@ 😅
Looks nice and modern, but you could place this in any seaside resort. Nothing says Disney. I've stayed in rooms in Mexico that have a similar theme. The color is so boring.
I just don’t get the color palette?… the furniture and finishings are pretty but they’re just bland in that one color!
Meh, wouldn’t pay to stay there.
Just love it! Love the sense of style and luxury over all that cartoonish style the last 30 years. I’d rather have that, then the incredibles all over my hotel room. Leave all that in the parks.
@@lynnnovick889 It's called Disney World! Not Boring World!!!!
@ wow, OK. Such anger. Walt always said that Disney will forever be changing and growing and embracing new things. Being Disney doesn’t mean you can’t have new and more subtle and sophisticated options, beyond what was, and still remains. Options don’t have to create such negative responses. It’s a hotel room for God’s sake, nothing more.
Calm Down!!!! These are called opinions!! And everyone is entitled to one!!!!!! @@lynnnovick889
Second!
😕that looks so sad, like another Florida timeshare. Young people like color too, if that's what they're scared of.
So boring, so ugly. Too much beige, and not much theming. I like the artwork behind the Murphy bed. How about a little color? Can't yell it's Disney. Nice showers.
