      Yeah it was nice to have a day like that in the winter! I don’t fish in the winter too much, because it makes it harder/more uncomfortable to be out on the kayak. So I felt very lucky!

      Hah, yeah, no bikinis in December here. It probably won’t be as popular as some others, but it was a fun day and I learned a lot!

    Great content, lure fishing ain’t bad when you learn how to fish them, I like live bait sometimes too. Always good to have alternatives especially when they put a hold on your main go to 😎

    That “green tail” you mentioned the red having at 5:00, is from them feeding on shrimp.

    • @finsandfossils
      @finsandfossils  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, so I know that mor shrimp means greener/bluer tail, but I had never seen a line in the tail that is so much darker. Usually all the same blue/green down the tail.

      Thank you! It’s still not super easy to find them, if I hopped on my kayak today, I’m not sure I’d be able to find any. It looks like it’s going to be frigid here in early February, so that sucks. Wishing for spring!

      No, I had a dinner to go to that night, so I didn’t have time for fish cleaning. 🤷‍♀️

      I haven’t forgotten! I had to run to a dinner party that evening, so I didn’t keep any feesh. I haven’t been harvesting many redfish recently, but if I catch any whiting/black drum this week, I’ll be sure to include the cleaning.

    Huh, never caught redfish on plastics. Thought it would only work on bait. You guys need to work on your fist bump.

    • @finsandfossils
      @finsandfossils  9 месяцев назад +1

      🤣🤣🤣 yeah it wasn’t the strongest fish bump. I’ll work on that. Reds will ABSOLUTELY eat plastics. I think that’s how most people around here fish for them. You just have to match the hatch!
