Had a thought. Dakron filter material is available in bulk online. Buy a couple of yards and some doily hoops from a craft store. Make a filter that has 3X the surface area to get clogged up vs food cups and maybe you can get a once and done filter run of shot on a cell before electrolyte contamination. Ask Ms Sreetips about the doily hoops, I’m betting she knows. My 0.02…
Gooooood evening from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great night! So much silver clogging up the filter... not a bad thing when you have that much silver. Have a great one Kev!
nice... :-) you always thinking about feed the silver cell with a big bar? pouring cement silver in a 1 kilo bar? put it in the basket vor desolve. i think, then you get nearly only slimes in the filter processing, and not so much exess, undesolved silver shot. you can connect the bar with a battery clamp.
Since you daily have silver to refine, I highly recommend you to go with small PP or PVC tank with for example 4 inch wide stainless steel 316 cathode and as much height as the tank, then use titanium basket with filter bags for your anode and its better to melt silver anode to avoid voltage dropping with titanium, in this small refining cell you will spend no time with solving the filter issue since you will have large surface area for making electrolyte go in and out the filter.
i think the differences between the cells 1 and 2 is the slightly corroded cathode strap on cell 2 that you mentioned in the beginning. maybe take it of and give it a scrub with a scotch bright pad to get to clean copper on the side touching the bowl
Poked at this issue for a while anticipating similar if I ever get my own set up going and recreate what you've put together. With your set up, I've wondered if a solution would be as simple as swapping the filter bag to the outside of the tupperware and possibly replacing the food container's sides and bottom with the right size fiberglass screen or other compatible screen material, given enough holes couldn't be drilled. You're already getting good ion flow through both, so the goal (given the dacron is able to catch all the slimes) would be to get the impurities to fall away from the impure silver as it's consumed.
Looks amazing . I carnt help but keep thinking how cool it would look if you dyed out the bowl with the crystals still in there and filling the bowl with that epoxi resin stuff letting it harden sanded and polished that would be a sight
I know it would not happen. But I was afraid when you lifted the lid on the beast all the silver was contaminated and coated in brass. Stranger things happen.
… wish I had money to purchase one of your bars, even if it was copper just to have it on display at my residence for show!! A much coveted treasure!!! You’ve made Clark Kent very, very poor!! 😂😂😂
What would be the most effective and efficient way to increase the filter surface area? You start with a fairly large bag, cut it, and a lot goes to waste.
I wonder if your filters clog up so fast because you are using very impure silver shot. When I make my silver shot it looks very silvery and looks pure. I know you have been doing this for over a decade. I get it. I wash my cement silver until no discernable blue color, then I wash it one more time with dilute sulfuric acid (10% acid in distilled water). The solution turns bluish again suggesting that there is still copper in there. I rinse again until there is no blue color. The cement silver shot looks great after melting. I tested the sulfuric acid rinse with HCl and did not see any or maybe a slight white ppt of silver chloride - certainly not much.
A couple of questions, if you don’t mind: Being in your garage near your water heater and other tools etc, are you concerned about off-gassing? Is your fume hood constantly in creating draft? How near the fume hood are the tables? Do you recover copper from your silver cell waste? What does the waste stream from the cell look like? Also, I’m sure you’ll sell some crystal when you’re done. But, I’d love to see a giant bar! Thank you for the series!
Hey brother . This is a lill off topic from the vid here but my question is have ya ever heard of an electric arch furnace used to liquefy gold in an argon filled chamber to produce some of the purest ingots of gold silver etc. They're not cheap but how interesting it would be to see some of your processes being done prior to melting/ creating one of the purest gold/silver ingots in the world there on your channel
Rather than cutting the excess filter material off, could you leave it on? When you reclaim the slimes, could you reuse the uncut filter. Even getting 2 runs out of the Dacron filter would save you significantly.
Because it wicks the electrolyte up and becomes encrusted with silver nitrate crystals.

Hello Mr. @sreetips, wouldn't it be easier if you electrolyzed large ingots instead of shots? No electrodes needed, no current loss on bad connections, no need to frequently dose fresh material, no need for Dacron filters - just pure gravity feed.
You should grow a big silver crystal and cast it in clear epoxy then sell. I bet that would be cool looking. I'd buy one. Hang it on my Christmas tree lol
I 've just a question for you: What do u do with the silver shots remaining into the used and clogged filters uou have removed? Do you use again as it or you wash them b4 to remove the slimes from them?
hello sreetips. I want to try refining as a hobby, and I am confident in my ability to do the chemistry, but I am a little concerned with how to handle all of the waste safely. Also do you have any good tips on where to start refining?
Can you clean and reuse filters if it wasn't cost prohibited would it make sense to change off the filter more often to stay in that optimal growth range
What do you do with the partially resolved silver shot in the old filters? Can you clean them off and put in the new filter? Or do you recover their silver later when you also process the filter slimes?
It looks like the new thinner filters are clogging faster than the old ones. Will you be going back to the thicker filters or is the improved growth from the thin ones worth the cost?
Have you measured the difference in processing when amps start to decrease? Meaning, a brand new basket with clean shot starts at say, 3.5 amps.. and when it's down to say, 2 amps, you've added x amount of shot in x amount of time.. but then from 2 amps down to 0.5 amps (ie another 1.5 amps decrease), would it process less shot, or take much more time, etc? Just curious if there is a point of maximum efficiency.. I think it would be interesting data to collect..
Is there a reason you use 'silver shot', as opposed to 'silver cement', for feed stock? Too much surface area, maybe? ie not enough resistance, causing high amp draw.
Trump needs to appoint sreetips to Director of the Office of Critical Minerals and Metals (OCMM) and make some of the largest silver crystals the world has ever seen, right here in the USA.
Have you thought about using a stainless steel colander set inside the bowl for a quick change out , and the electrolyte could be reused in the same stainless steel container , just put a new colander in back in business after draining the original one .
@ credit is due to a guy on GRF for the idea worked ok . Your scale is a little larger same concept . But what works for you works . Always impressed ( little jealous sometimes ) with the silver production . I’m trying but man you are next level . Well done
Hello Mrs and Mr Sreetips. Thank you for a new upload Sir🔥🙏🔥 God bless you 🙏 I see forward to the harvest of this silver crystals🙂 Maybe a new record Sreetips 👍🔥
Unfortunately, I only work on my own material. This is my hobby. I’m not a professional refiner. Working on other people’s stuff carries too much liability: I gave you X amount of scrap, and you only got Y amount of gold. You must have ripped me off. Avoid those pitfalls like the plague. I used to recommend a couple refiners but I quit doing that because one person came back and said the guy I recommended absconded with many ounces of metals! But that could have been a case of unrealistic expectations.

Cool. You could also use an embroidery hoop. Not sure how big doily hoops come in, but embroidery hoops come in pretty big sizes.
Man, it looks like you're close to harvest time! Those cells are looking great. The copper nitrate does look amazing...
You have an amazing amount of patience. I don't think I could have resisted the urge to harvest the beast.
Good things come to those who wait.
So captivating, looking at those crystals, and boy that shard was gorgeous. Great work, the harvest will be a trip, thank you sir!
That is 3 serene blue pools of loveliness. Cell 1 had nice current flow increase. Tis a thing of beauty.
I like this series you are doing, it’s so interesting to see what you go through to make all this stuff happen
It's just insane!, the sheer quickness you have those crystals growing. I love it!
Gooooood evening from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great night! So much silver clogging up the filter... not a bad thing when you have that much silver. Have a great one Kev!
Goooood evening!
Hello David. Have a nice on buddy 🙂🙏🙂God bless you
You have to show us a big silver bar after all this
Bro needs to get a 10kg mould
*several big bars
He has one for sale on his eBay page that he made a video of it
It's better to leave as pure crystal for when he needs it
Looking forward to your bar pouring series for all that dang crystal!
When I first started refining silver, I’d melt and pour every bit of it, stamp the bars and sell them on my eBay site. Made good income from that.
Man looks great it's going to be a great run holy moly lots of silver
I really want to see you put that new glassware to use. Another attempt to reclaim the nitric acid from the used electrolyte would be a fun video
Love it. When can we expect the next silver slimes cleanup video? Those are a pain for you, but super interesting.
Great video thanks I could imagine having buckets of cement silver in my garage 😊
Good morning, Mrs. and Mr. Sreetips, wishing you all happiness from Dubai 🌹🙏
Good morning Dubai
Hello Dubai🌹🙏🌹
i think the differences between the cells 1 and 2 is the slightly corroded cathode strap on cell 2 that you mentioned in the beginning. maybe take it of and give it a scrub with a scotch bright pad to get to clean copper on the side touching the bowl
That's a great shot of the silver shard.
I really enjoy learning with you.
Thank you for another awesome video.

Gonna be Harvest Time pretty soon. Looking forward to that money shot 💵👍
It’s a dirty job but someone has to have fun and do it. Thank you Sir!👍👍🤟
Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge 👍
Hi Ya & best wishes. SuperB! Thanks for work. Be Happy. Sevastopol/Crimea.
Reminds me of my great nephews blue eyes when he was a baby.
When I watch this, it's like the formation of planets over millions of years, I'm looking forward to the results.love and respect❤❤
looking forward to the harvest video !
Looking better every day!
Very interesting material, keep it up! 💋🔥
👍's up sreetips thank you for sharing 🤗
Wow I feel like you are really pushing the limit of what the container can hold in term of silver cristals!
It is a bit risky putting in new filters this late in the process.
Good news, this video replays in English. since my language settings are set for US English the problem is likely with youtube.
I think they just started this so probably have bugs to work out of it.
Looks amazing . I carnt help but keep thinking how cool it would look if you dyed out the bowl with the crystals still in there and filling the bowl with that epoxi resin stuff letting it harden sanded and polished that would be a sight
I’m loving this series of videos, the harvest is eagerly awaited. 😍
Nice . The original voice returned!
I was watching when you broke your crucibles, it's going to be fun watching you pour some more silver shot, you'll need some soon.
I used to love melting the impure silver. But I’ve grown to dread it.
That's so cool! The beast is growing a hobbit sword of pure silver! 😊
Well done !
HI,.,.Tipps,.,...,Tkzz for sharing ,.,.peace
make a big bar at the end 🤘
I am asking this question early in the video - you may answer it along the way. Can the filters be cleaned?
Yes
You should do a timelaps of one of these with a clear plexey glass cover on it
It gets obfuscated with condensate
I would sell those Silver Crystal "Trees", I found them online for $10 a Gram!! They are just So Beautiful.
Good work team
I can't wait to see the end of all this episodes. You will melt a silver bar?
I know it would not happen. But I was afraid when you lifted the lid on the beast all the silver was contaminated and coated in brass. Stranger things happen.
… wish I had money to purchase one of your bars, even if it was copper just to have it on display at my residence for show!! A much coveted treasure!!!
You’ve made Clark Kent very, very poor!! 😂😂😂
Who's getting itchy for a large melt n pour?
Have you thought about trying the paint strainer bags you can find at lowes or home depot? They are cheap and you get a lot of material.
Too coarse
Im still wanting to a goliath cell made from one of the big pans you poor the shot in that should grow a lot of silver
What would be the most effective and efficient way to increase the filter surface area?
You start with a fairly large bag, cut it, and a lot goes to waste.
More current and amps would require more surface area on the filter medium , double the size of the basket filter ....?
I wonder if your filters clog up so fast because you are using very impure silver shot. When I make my silver shot it looks very silvery and looks pure. I know you have been doing this for over a decade. I get it.

I tested the sulfuric acid rinse with HCl and did not see any or maybe a slight white ppt of silver chloride - certainly not much.
I used to take great care to wash and clean my cement silver. Then I finally realized that it’s best to let the cell do all that work for me.
Looking good sir you should have a very good harvest when it's done thank you for sharing this with us six stars
A couple of questions, if you don’t mind:
Being in your garage near your water heater and other tools etc, are you concerned about off-gassing? Is your fume hood constantly in creating draft? How near the fume hood are the tables?
Do you recover copper from your silver cell waste? What does the waste stream from the cell look like?

Thank you for the series!
No gas noted.
Fume hood is rarely turned off. But I’m giving it a rest for the holidays.
I recover the copper on iron in my waste treatment bucket.
I have some crystal listed on my eBay site. I used to melt and pour bars with every bit of silver that I refined. Made good income from it.
I’m looking in here and see the current flow is clogged up ..That filter and get to work!👊🇺🇸🧂
Rather than cutting the excess filter material off, could you leave it on? When you reclaim the slimes, could you reuse the uncut filter. Even getting 2 runs out of the Dacron filter would save you significantly.

First 💙✨🥰
Can you use an flower seve to harvest the pure silver right from those sells and continiue the operation without drain down those sells
I don’t know
It must be time to refine some slimes soon?
I 've just a question for you: What do u do with the silver shots remaining into the used and clogged filters uou have removed? Do you use again as it or you wash them b4 to remove the slimes from them?
Dissolve then in nitric acid
What would happen if you had copper all around the stainless steel bowl instead of just only the steel bands?
Also what’s with the current and amps? If you had a 4-5 gallon steel pot and “The Beast” power supply would it be the same current and amps?
I don’t know.
Current flow would probably be higher with a cell that big.
hello sreetips. I want to try refining as a hobby, and I am confident in my ability to do the chemistry, but I am a little concerned with how to handle all of the waste safely. Also do you have any good tips on where to start refining?
Yes, with a fume hood. No way to safely do any of these reactions without one.
Can you clean and reuse filters if it wasn't cost prohibited would it make sense to change off the filter more often to stay in that optimal growth range
They are custom fit. Be nearly impossible to get them in a second time.
What do you do with the partially resolved silver shot in the old filters? Can you clean them off and put in the new filter? Or do you recover their silver later when you also process the filter slimes?
I process that silver when I do the anode filters.
It looks like the new thinner filters are clogging faster than the old ones. Will you be going back to the thicker filters or is the improved growth from the thin ones worth the cost?
I’m sticking with the thin ones. At five bucks each, changing the filters two or three times is worth it to harvest thousands in pure silver.
Do you see a jump in current flow when you add electrolyte? If so, could you show us, please? :)
It doesn’t really affect current flow unless the level is very low and I add a lot of it. But I am adding a little as I do the daily maintenance.
Se ve muy azul el electrolito, cuantos dias puedes seguir usando parece saturado de cobre?
Not yet
Have you measured the difference in processing when amps start to decrease? Just curious if there is a point of maximum efficiency.. I think it would be interesting data to collect..
The rate of consumption of the impure shot declines steadily as the filter becomes clogged with slimes.
Does the silver retrieved from the clogged filter baskets have to be cleaned? Can you just dry it and use it to recharge the new filters?
No
It will be processed when I do the anode filters
Is there a reason you use 'silver shot', as opposed to 'silver cement', for feed stock?
Too much surface area, maybe?
ie not enough resistance, causing high amp draw.
Clogs the filter
Trump needs to appoint sreetips to Director of the Office of Critical Minerals and Metals (OCMM) and make some of the largest silver crystals the world has ever seen, right here in the USA.
I’d agree to the appointment, but only if they cut three other government agencies first.
Have you thought about using a stainless steel colander set inside the bowl for a quick change out , and the electrolyte could be reused in the same stainless steel container , just put a new colander in back in business after draining the original one .
No, I have not thought of that.
@ credit is due to a guy on GRF for the idea worked ok . Your scale is a little larger same concept . But what works for you works . Always impressed ( little jealous sometimes ) with the silver production . I’m trying but man you are next level . Well done
Old filter set up🤔
I thought you changed out the 3amp for the 5 Amp fuses
I did. When the current flow dropped off I reinstalled 3amp fuses.
Would pouring electrolyte from the top into the new filter and half the shot then filling in the other half help with the low amperage on first start?
Possibly
#2 anode has high corrosion, may be your impedance source to match #1
How long do you plan to run the cells?? It's getting close...
For as long as it takes, maybe fourteen days from the way things have been going.
Hello Mrs and Mr Sreetips.
Thank you for a new upload Sir🔥🙏🔥
God bless you 🙏
I see forward to the harvest of this silver crystals🙂 Maybe a new record Sreetips 👍🔥
Would be nice!
@sreetips we can hope Sreetips👍🔥👍
Hallo ... is there a way to ask you some questions ? ... thank you.
Yes, how can I help you?
when it comes to Amps, the Beast, is the least... ;)
Wouldn’t the brass contaminate the anodes?
only if it enter in contact with the electrolyte
Not as long as it doesn’t hit the electrolyte.
Is it possible to have a copper cell? Or will it not work because of oxidation?
Yes
What would happen if we just use distilled water instead of silver solution?
Distilled water doesn't conduct electricity.
Nothing, no current flow
I have acquired 4 Troy oz of 10k need to find someone to refine for me. I love in Michigan. Any suggestions of someone trustworthy
Jeff, at Lithic Metals is in Wisconsin, he does great work...not sure how close he is for you though

@@sreetips ty brother
why dont you just connect the wire directly to the copper block on silver cell #3?
Because I didn’t think of that.
@@sreetips that's funny, keep up the videos I am loving the series!
